I don't know if this is ESPN's last breath or not but surely a former punter in a wife beater and Stephen A Smith being your flagship on air talent has to be close to the end.
Poor SVP.
Poor SVP.
The answer is no. (And I think she's one of the better ones they have.)Does Mina Kimes really bring in $1.7M worth of value? She sounds competent and all, but are people really tuning into ESPN to listen to her?
He's been red-hot lately... until, well, you know.So tired of that bum Tyler Stephenson.
Every time I tune in he is sucking. Reminds me of Littleton Ward with a bat. He's been red-hot lately... until, well, you know.

Really? I think she’s terrible.
I like her. Knows her stuff. Not worth $1.7M (if that's true). But I would say that about almost anyone at ESPN short of SVP.
I can speak with a little knowledge on this. ESPN going forward is about two things…live games and personalities that draw ratings. That’s itESPN doesn’t have anyone I’ll make my schedule to see, except SVP.. That’s sad.
That’s fine and I get it, they’re making shows for the lcd. That’s what gets ratings.I can speak with a little knowledge on this. ESPN going forward is about two things…live games and personalities that draw ratings. That’s it
Love or hate Stephen A or McAfee but they draw eyeballs and (more importantly) advertisers. The two most profitable shows on that network now are First Take and NFL Live (or whatever thsy show is called at 4 pm). Not a surprise those people will make a lot of money
It’s not necessarily about picking personalities that appeal to people like us. We aren’t watching tv at that time of day and we will subscribe for the games. It’s about the people who will watch daily for those kind of shows
The premise of ESPN being done or even close yo done is silly. Clay writes stuff like that bc he hates ESPN. But what has happened is they are cutting out all the stuff that doesn’t make money. But as long as they have the games, they will profit once they cut the costs of things that don’t. And they are hell bent on doing that
But let’s be real…what was the last show you liked on ESPN besides Van Pelt and PTI (if you like it). The reality is the days of Olbermann and Patrick doing Sportscenter ended with mobile phones. The shows people now complain about basically just replaced reruns of games. That’s fine and I get it, they’re making shows for the lcd. That’s what gets ratings.
I come here though because I enjoy the smartest takes I can get. Some may be biased but I get them. That’s all good and well, just a bummer to see ESPN go downhill.
That’s all true. Can’t argue with any of it. Maybe we’re just wanting those days back. Either way I can’t listen to those guys, they’re awful but here we are.But let’s be real…what was the last show you liked on ESPN besides Van Pelt and PTI (if you like it). The “demise” of ESPN is a lot about nostalgia of a day long gone by…when people watched highlight shows. ESPN Radio is a different conversation (which I can’t talk a lot about) but on tv I actually think they programming is much better now than it has been in last 6-7 years, even if the Atephen A scream feasts are not for me
Russians, man….This chick hot enough that her trying to hire a hitman to kill you might be worth it? Probably.
Self immolation doesn't belong on this list. It should actually be on the most AWESOME types of protesting list.Ranking of top 5 idiotic types of protesting:
- Hunger strikes: it amazes me that anyone would care if someone went on a hunger strike. It seems like the most childish form of protest. My son used to do this when we served lima beans. But apparently Gandhi and Al Sharpton have done this as well - yet people actually took them seriously.
- Blocking traffic: My family could be falsely imprisoned but if somebody blocks a highway to protest their cause and it causes me to be late, I'd likely take the government's side on it. Just seems like a way to piss people off.
- Pouring paint on art work in museums: Similar to the blocking traffic, just a dick move.
- Interrupting a sporting event: the audience who attends games doesn't give af about your cause so you're just going to make people mad at you.
- Catching yourself of fire: I'd argue this one is just the hunger strike to the extreme. It's kind of bad ***, but too high risk low reward to be effective. Plus, you'll likely never know if it worked or not because you'll be dead.

Unwatchable.Cawwwaall Pawwwawall! He’ll make sense of it awawawalll!
You know what was simple? Turning on your TV and scrolling down through the sports channels to see what games were on. That was the simplest thing ever.Somehow I have watched the whole Colorado game on the trip to WKU and plan to watch all of the UK game too!
Pretty simple really. YTTV
Totally agree but watching JP Sports sucked as well. Figure it out. I’m listening to this game. You know what was simple? Turning on your TV and scrolling down through the sports channels to see what games were on. That was the simplest thing ever.
