UKO doesn't talk about his favorite college football team until they lose so he can pick nits and give himself the only measurable amount of pleasure he can find in this world.

It is amazing how likeable seemingly everything associated with UK football is. Ray Davis drops Thank God and the Big Blue Wall! after a historic day. Jeremy Flax went from the worst lineman we had to SEC lineman of the week by keeping his head down and working his *** off. Our head coach, coordinators, and recruiting coordinator are habitually awesome to listen to and always go out of their way to engage with the BBN.

In addition to great results, this is just a great product.

Halcyon days, indeed.

-McAfee is a really weird case. I really really want to hate the guy. For some reason I kind of don't.

-Big Z

-Crisp this morning. Even as a noted hot weather honk, I'm looking forward to Saturdays weather.

-Had my first sample of 7yr Heaven Hill BiB last night. Really good and seems to be more accessible these days. Not surprising coming from HH.

-I love the optimism going into the weekend. I don't quite get it but might as well shock the world.

-Re:Athens - We just pulled up to one of the big tailgate lots by the stadium and made ourselves at home. Folks were fairly welcoming.

-When did Fall Break become a thing? I don't remember being off for a week in the middle of October.

  • I, for one, am a big fan of the “s” with mean eyebrows š! Leggo big Z!
  • Gotta go with the all whites v UGA. If we don’t, forget any chance. No chrome domes.
  • Kale, Blueberry, and Kefir smoothie regimen has cleaned up my liver apparently. That and not powering down 1/2 a fifth of high octane brown sauce every weekend. Amazing what a little exercise can do for a ****** panel of blood work.
  • Baseball sucks without the Yanks stirring the drink. TMFS. Good to see Jordan Montgomery dominate as we send Harrison Bader out to pasture👎🏻.
  • Maybe saying hi to y’all for Mizzou game.

Tucker with yet another great Stoops article this morning.

Can we just have a basketball team without wondering if one of the stars will even suit up? Very over it. I'll root for Z when he's on the court. The funny thing is, his recruitment, or discovery, was sold with the narrative that Cal was being a bad *** and going out and finding a hidden superstar because Klutch was rumored to hold Bradshaw out. Weren't they going to send him to USC to play with Bronny, too? It all feels like made up reality TV and it turns me off. I like the basketball part of basketball. If I want that dramatic bulljunk I'll watch Southern Charm.

I'll tell you what pissed me off. Paul Finebaum had John Clay on set in front of the Krog this weekend, with UK football receiving the full focus of the SEC and its network. Paul's first question was something about the atmosphere in Lexington for such a big game, and Clay's response was "Well, the big story in Lexington is our big Croatian basketball recruit." He proceeded to try to talk about it for a few minutes with Paul trying to bring him back to football. Eff all the way off, John.

No clue what to expect Saturday. We could crumble, throw 4 pick sixes, miss tackles and get smoked, or the passing game could finally come together, defense could stop the run and create havoc, and we could win by double digits. Wouldn't be surprised by any outcome. Just stay healthy. Dream season is still on the table.

Been loving Only Murders in the Building. Not sure how I missed it for 3 seasons. Martin Short remains undefeated.

I've been listening to Pat since he was on the Bob & Tom Show more than a decade ago. I definitely get why he's not for everybody, and I am concerned the ESPN machine might ruin him, but ...I love the dude. On his podcast, when he did Smackdown, on Gameday, all of it. He's the only yinzer acceptable in our home.

And before Clay was a columnist, he was the UK football beat writer for years. He should know better. Fail.

“Kentucky cares about basketball not football” is the most fabricated take out on these streets imo. That was true in the 90s, maybe, but even there we had sickos that were Kentucky football fans first.

UK fans didn’t get excited for ****** football, sure, but same goes for any fanbase.

If anything- I’d say Stoops is more popular with UK fans than Calipari right now and John Clay is a dork.

* If I were to rank my wish list of travel, ignoring cost/logistics/etc, it would probably go something like this....

- Nepal/Bhutan
- Burma/Laos
- Morocco
- Cambodia/Vietnam
- Slovenia

* Aly Raisman, McKayla Maroney, Simone Biles and others brought their stories of sexual assault at the hands of Larry Nassar to the FBI, and the story was buried because the two agents assigned to the case were in the process of trying to secure jobs with USA gymnastics. Jon Krakauer wrote a book about the University of Montana's systematic hiding of campus rape. He could just as easily have written it about any other school. Every major church in America has acted the same, most notably the Catholics and the Baptists. So have the Boy Scouts.

Sexual assault victims MOSTLY go unreported and/or covered up, so it's pretty cringeworthy to see the touchdown celebrations in light of Trevor Bauer's apparent victory this week. Victims/alleged victims deserve to be taken seriously, heard, and investigated.

It certainly appears that MLB jumped all over this story with both feet and punished Bauer without any actual evidence. If so, I hope he successfully sues them into the Stone Age, because he deserves it. But it doesn't diminish the incredible amount of work still needed to be done to protect victims and alleged victims.

* Tossing my name out there for Speaker of the House. Marcus.

* Jimmy Buffett --> his passing made me sit down and realize he's my all time favorite musician. I wouldn't put his 10 best songs up against those of my other favorite artists, but I've been enjoying him and his work for longer, by far, than other other musician. Been to more of his shows. Read every single one of his books.

Saw him at Jazz Fest last year, in my first post-COVID concert, and it was so incredibly refreshing. I remember saying to may lass that the way he just gets on stage, often barefoot, and strums his sing-a-long drinking songs, that he could go on touring for another 10 or 20 years. We had no idea he was sick. Truly one of a kind.

* Blake Lively can get it, yall. Shew wee.

* Sober October. 3 days in. Ugh.

* This was the best year of baseball, and the most fun I've had watching it, in god knows how long. Check my receipts. Look me up on CatPaw. Search my Twitter machine. I've been calling out the Reds as the 2024 NL Champs since last summer when they were on their way to another terrible season. 2023 was just a bonus, and this team is so loaded with young talent it's crazy. I love this team, and cannot wait for next year. They are going to be GREAT.

* Free Carl Lee, or Fry Carl Lee?

* FM talk radio is the WORST. Who in TF listens to that?

-idk max, we packed commonwealth for decades for ****** football. Always in the top 20 in attendance.

-I'm just anti hot-take/pro wrestling ********. I prefer substance.

^college football is a venerable institution. Sad to see it lowered to pop culture/bro-dude/low rent sewage... by having some loudmouth shitstain ruin its flagship television show.

-in short: McAfee is the insane clown posse of sports punditry.

Things that make me irrationally angry if I hear them:

1. Bob & GD Tom
2. Radiohead
3. Stephen A. Smith / Skip Bayless
4. James Taylor
5. Politicians talk about trans people

I'd rather stick my dick in a pencil sharpener than listen to any of that trash.
So are we to assume you have a pencil di..... nevermind I think you answered the question already.🤣

@Jeff Drummond sighting on Sportscenter last night with SVP and Stanford Steve. Well done sir! Right place, right time, and I bet you got the shot!

If you can't just absolutely LOVE Ray Davis, you are truly beyond hope as a worthless curmudgeon of a human being. One could not ask for a better representative of BBN.

Been listening to some of my college years music lately-- Chili Peppers, Jane's Addiction, early Green Day, Beastie Boys, Soundgarden. Lots of good memories coming back from that music. Late night marathon euchre games that would last until someone was passed out, drinking all your friend's dick roommate's beer who made the fatal mistake of not being there with his case in the fridge, listening to Marty and Joe call the Reds pennant and Series run on the radio at night, camping in a field in the middle of nowhere Shelby County after a UK football win over IU, sliding the Kirwin Tower RA a 6-pack so he would look the other way while you rolled in 4 cases of **** beer in a giant suitcase. Best of times.

"What's better than an ice cold Miller Lite?" Pops the can open... "Shannon's beer!!!" :)

Bob and Tom is appropriate listening for Hoosiers.

Their incessant fake laughing at unfunny jokes would make Red Buttons blush.

Seeing that pic of Blake Lively and Taylor Swift hanging out together in that suite coupled with the Swift may have a “full bush” chatter on here kept me up last night, gang. Shewee.

Do you have a pic of them side by side?

Because I'd love to see that posted, then witness any of you clowns try to argue how hot Swift is compared to Lively. I'm sure there's a few of you that would try to pull that con.

^ you are legit obsessed with Taylor Swift bub. 95% of her mentions/conversations in here, which is just about daily of late, are started by you.

-Louisville's Come Back Inn announced a sudden closure, damn. Hate seeing any old school/original restaurant or bar close, but that one hurts...worshipped.

-Pat MCafee is original but I still can’t watch. Clicked on First Take mistakenly and realized they now have an angry white New Yorker to go along with an angry black New Yorker, great programming espn. I’m assuming all their executives are from the are and think that’s what America wants…

-Jimmy Buffet is garbage. It’s island music for Midwesterners that see the ocean once a year but rock a salt life sticker on their SUV.

-assault victims should be heard for sure, the fake ones ruin it for the rest though.

-Blake Lively is pure smoke.

-Risk app has been getting blown up lately. Love that game but axis and Allie’s is better.

After reading about and watching that Bauer video I hope he gets a Billy from the MLB. Any transgression without proof that gets you fired is a bit crazy.

The MLBPA kind of screws him. The players basically gave the commish all the control over these types of issues.

- Pat McAfee appeals to a certain prevalent audience that ESPN appears to be catering to. Non-live sports ESPN died with Stu Scott. SVP is trying his damnedest but it's too late for this old coot.

- Speaking of old, ya'll are fooling yourselves if you think you'd turn away T-Swift or any top tier celebrity at this point in our lives. Some neck beard/incel level takes in here recently.

- I think we're due for the positive side of a questionable recruiting situation after what happened with Freedom Kanter.

- I get many of you may not be into the following but I find it pretty cool:
~ One of the hottest hardcore bands in the world is from Oldham County (Knocked Loose)
~ The UFC has upwards of 10 great fights before the end of the year somehow.
~ I think podcasts, generally speaking, have jumped the shark.

- I will put Shane Gillis' bit on the special olympics / coaching up there with any bit I've heard in the past decade. Dude had me wheezing talking about John Cena as the angel of death.

Be kind, GYERO.

My dad went by there Sunday as is tradition on his birthday... only to see they were closed. Old man is pretty busted up over it.

- My dad passed in August 2009, but in order to complete my unclaimed property claim I had to have a copy of the death certificate to prove it. Nice ride to Frankfort and back.

- Notification of distillery operation goes into the Pioneer News this week. That’s the smallest local paper I could get approved. 30 days to object, and if any objections are legit they have 30 days to produce evidence at a hearing. I’m >< close now!

- Funny to see somewhat thick girls in yoga pants after leg day. I assume it was leg day, but I guess they could have ran into Wynn.

- Comeback Inn closing SUCKS! Writing was on the wall with labor shortages and all the sudden closings because of equipment or HVAC issues over the summer.

- Dr ordered an MRI on my brain after I explained my headache issues from a few weeks ago. Of course she is more concerned with my triglycerides only dropping from 484 to 404, and needing to be around 150.

Apparently no bread, pasta, rice, potatoes, or deserts was a little more important than I realized. I was happy about my ~20% decrease and 15 pound weight drop since 6 months ago.

- I’d relisten to all the years of Tupac documentaries and interviews about his life/death and business dealings after again before I’d listen to a second of Pat McAfee garbage.

- Saturday is going to be fantastic. First one of the year without baseball, football or soccer for the kids and we have a night game.

- Turn 44 Friday. I covered a lot of personal goals the last 2-3 years but I have until 50 to make it all happen and be able to “retire” and live the life I want. Still along way to go to get there but as long as I don’t end up divorced or dead before then it’s all very very achievable from here.
