- Said it at the time and even had the conversation with a friend yesterday, Notre Dame should have waited on Fickel. They pulled the easy “promote a coordinator” move. Those usually end up mistakes. Freeman hasn’t shown me anything.
Actually you argued with me basically the exact opposite. Granted after review you were speaking out both sides of your mouth.

-moving on. At the beginning of the season we all had this penciled in as a sure loss...the season isn't over. 10-2 still on the table, alabama waking up is bad...but beat who you're supposed to beat and it's there. Not worried about u6...ND is way overrated.
With you until I think about who’s taking snaps. Mizzu averages 33/game, so this weekend would be a good time for #13 to live up to his offseason hype.

NOBODY was a bigger Josh Pastner stan than wcc. Also promoted from assistant to HC from within.

Ole Flip Flopping WCC. That’s what I’m calling him from here on out.

You’re full of ****. I thought it was suspect from the hire. I get why they did it - Freeman’s recruiting and rapport with the current players and mostly not wanting to wait un after the playoff for Fickel - but I am rarely in favor of giving a young, unproven coordinator such a big job. It’s always a shot in the dark.

-hopefully it was a wake up call bonz. A loss to mizzou at home=the season is an abject failure.

-their "big" win: K-state was vastly over rated...just lost to an okie st team that got *drubbed* by South Alabama at home.

-not to say uk can't have a "slide"... it's happened to stoops's teams before. Hopefully he's learned something....still could be a very good year.

-getting down by 3 scores early was a death knell...it took Davis out of the game.

I felt a little better when I remembered Georgia has done that to teams in the playoff/title game.

-Saturday was a disaster. I knew we'd get beat but to have back up QBs playing a big chunk of the 2nd half didn't cross my mind. Type of loss that can derail a season, especially with the injuries. We've routinely let this exact scenario turn into 2-3 Ls.

-Stoops specifically called out Leary. I tend to think it's on him the last couple games. That missed pass to Robinson was a back breaker.

-Congrats to 73/05. Ivy League Football. Amazing.

-Shout out to Josh Teater for securing his PGA Card. Been grinding away for 2 decades. Gotta be a helluva feeling and basically had to get a top 5 at the last KFT tournament of the season. Shoots a 64 of Saturday to do just that.

-Looks like we're getting a real fall. Temps in the 60/40 range for the majority of the next couple weeks. Sun already down by 7p. Here we go.

I would argue Freeman hasn't been terrible at Notre Dame. He was 1-second away from beating Ohio State this year and I don't really blame them for having a letdown game after that. Not saying he deserved the job at age 35, but it hasn't been a disaster. We shall see.

Regarding Pastner, he's possibly Cal's best coaching disciple. So WCC has that going for him.

Guess we’ll see how Fickel ends up doing at Wisconsin but that will likely end up being a pretty bad pass.

I still think the flag on Walker was BS. There were people on both teams still playing. He just blocked one. After last year's fumble that we didn't pick up, which possibly cost us the game, I'm sure Stoops hammered home the concept of playing through the whistle. Even though he batted down the pass, the refs could miss anything, or someone could've knocked it loose beforehand. Can't leave it up to the stripes to make the right call. You see a Georgia player running after your guy, you lay him out.

The hold on Burton was iffy, if not total BS as well. His other penalty though... all-time dumbass. Then he matadored a Georgia DL letting the next play (or one of the next plays) get blown up. Should've been benched.

I kind of repressed the memory of most of the game. Seemed like Dane Key finally woke up? Or did he have some drops/boneheaded routes?

- the whole “hire a guy to keep a recruiting class/appease your current players” move has a not great track record

- I don’t need Dammit! Leary to live up to his preseason hype, I just need competency. When you have a clean pocket, an open WR, you need to throw the ball to him. He’s seeing ghosts right now and honestly, not sure the HC calling him out publicly will help. Assume Stoops knows his guy’s head better than ol’ MaxP does though.

- The amount of Stringer Bell pictures “we back up” I was sending out yesterday around 7:00 pm was, frankly, obnoxious.

-I'm ok with the concept of indigenous peoples day... prefer the nomenclature "first nations", as most "indigenous" folks killed the actual indigenous and took their ****, globally speaking. Hakuna matata, or whatever.

-why do Italians get worked up over Columbus day, has nothing to do with Italy. Learn Ferdinand and Isabella.

Coen drew up a ton of good plays Sat and yet again has a stable group of players who simply refuse to execute it properly. Whoever gave Leary NIL money should ask for a refund. Guy has been a complete flop. White and the defense was a total no show. Sat is going to test every ounce of fortitude these players and coaches have in them. Stoops track record during these midseason/meat of the schedule stretches is sketchy at best. Time to take another step.

Why does anyone get worked up over any ________day? We have national hot dog day, donut day, frickin pencil day, probably. No one is even slightly inconvenienced by any of it.

One last ***** about a call because I have to get it out of my system. The PI on Jordan Robinson should've been offensive. WR had him completely wrapped up as the ball was being thrown. Okay, moving on finally, I hope.

Beat Mizzou, please.

The comfort of age is realizing your life is essentially a plate. And you put stuff on your plate- some of it you have to (bills, other responsibilities) and some of it you want to (thinking about Joe Burrow, spending quality time with friends and family). You realize I only go so much room on this plate. And you look and see you’ve got this pile of **** to get worked up about jello salad on there when you really want some more of that stupid overs and prop bet parlay hash brown casserole. So as you get older, you scoot the jello salad off and add more casserole until you only have a tiny bit of jello salad left, and that’s only because everyone is watching and grandma will get hurt if you don’t at least take a little jello for appearances sake.

Anyway, happy Columbus Day!

-my (our) ancestors happened to be best at conquering other folks/land in the 15-1600's. Is what it is. This stuff has been happening since the dawn of man. I feel zero guilt/responsibility.

^I have no problem realizing that conquered folks feel differently about that reality...and acknowledging that it was bad for their ancestors. I am not threatened by this.

-all that said...there has been some bad **** in our/our parents lifetime that should be accounted for. Much rather look inward and help the native population than most of what we're spending our money on globally.

Without doing any research, my guess is that it's all wanting something to rival St. Patrick's day and the celebration of all things Irish in this country. One thing I learned from my paternal grandparents, is that there are generations of Italians who REALLY hate the Irish in America.

- After Saturday night I got to wake up and watch the Titans make football look miserable too. After we lose next week to Baltimore in Europe the front office isn’t going to be able to keep playing games as the pressure will start in to play Levis. Their strategy of listing him as “out” isn’t going to cut it much longer.

- After watching Auburn get 200 yards on Georgia I really thought we could run it and make a game of it. Oh well, I’m confident we get back to our winning ways next week.

- Thrash and Jordan are solid for UL and they are very aggressive on defense. I don’t care much that they pulled off the upset much other than I’d like them to lose every game, but that said I’m pretty comfortable saying I think we have a better football team than ND, or at least I’d really like our chances against them in a bowl game.

- Family had 3 birthdays over the weekend and I gained 6 pounds. Time to focus again.

- I am not ready for early darkness and cold temps yet. Yesterday was long and it’s not just me as all my kids were laying around and ready for bed at 830.

- Is Brown County still just a festival this time of year? Thinking that would be a nice peaceful morning/day thing to do Saturday before the game.

- Great trip to Cancun. Only negative was that there seems to be a lot of big women wearing little bathing suits.

- Was funny catching up with GYERO and seeing how confident this board was from Wednesday to Saturday 7pm.

- Really funny listening to the UK game with Spanish broadcasters. After a few minutes it actually wasn't funny at all.

- I think we can officially throw Leary into the potential bust category. Dude looks scared to death out there.

- But wow, Burton, rarely does an OL lose a game. I think you did bro.

- First ever round of golf in Mexico. Game got off track when I saw the crocodiles inhabit this area signs.

- Saw Charlie Sheen in O'Hare. Bro not looking good.

- No Redsox in playoffs. I am done with baseball.

I actually think this was really well articulated. Just thought I would add that

In other news, as I said on radio, I thought it was very interesting that Stoops acknowledged on Postgame radio that the team got divided last year. It certainly did happen and was a big reason for the Vandy loss and late season collapse

I can’t believe Pro Day is Wednesday and I didn’t even know it was happening
