-I don’t care to enter a baseball argument, but the Phillies are just white hot at the plate right now.

Also there are a lot of complaints coming in about the time off causing the 1-2 seeds to actually be at a disadvantage in this round 5 games. I can see it.

- As annoyed as I am about the rank of 133rd on the plays per game stat I did some research.

2021- we were 85th-ish but #13 in TOP at 32:55 per game
2022- we were 113th-ish but #15 in TOP at 32:43 per game
2023- we are 133(last) but #128 in TOP at 25:56 per game

So while we never are terribly high in plays per game, this year it is obviously a problem as we control the ball a whole 7-8 minutes per game so far.

- I’m still confident we roll Mizzou. But this game being sandwiched between UGA and UT is not cool.

- I ordered a sample of some 10YO Ky bourbon that just hit the market. It’s pricey and I’m not sure it’s going to be worth the price in this market, but I can’t say I’m not extremely interested regardless.

Surprised that all of our coaches since Joe B. have lost ground to Kansas.

From dlh on HOB:

All UK Coaches (Rupp forward) in the all time wins list versus Kansas:

Rupp +173
Hall +61
Sutton -18
Pitino -9
Smith -13
BCG -24
Calipari -9

----

Surprised that pti actually went and got Cole's sprinkles after his run.

Seriously, great timing on those back-to-back posts. The irony was probably lost on all of you simpletons.

----

Not surprised Texas A&M cheer guys get all the D. What a bunch of weirdos.

----

Not surprised kids' sports are keeping me from traveling to the Lextravaganza yet again this weekend.

----

Had a rough 24 hours.

My Dad's GF of the past 20 years passed away.

My FIL, whose dementia is getting worse pretty much every day, fell and hurt his hip and got a concussion.

One of my daughter's best friends, and my little buddy, was chasing a ball at volleyball practice yesterday. She hit the net at full speed and it slingshotted her to the floor, where she hit her head. Took her to the hospital for a concussion, but she has a skull fracture and bleeding on the brain. They moved her to Cincinnati Children's Hospital.

She should be ok, but... damn. Scary.

They're just a trash program. 2nd biggest cheaters in the history sport.

Self took this guy as a transfer with an existing assault charge involving an ex-gf. The dude, allegedly, raped a girl within a few months of arriving to KU.

The news over there is non-stop and Bill just continues to get a pass.

👽 did he explain the reasoning of that? How dumb. Who let them into the SEC? Sounds more like Big 10 material.

Interesting that you used an alien emoji. He was sort of an alien. He was resolute in his values and wouldn't change his mind on anything. Also a very good employee - now he's already a VP (at age 33, and like a real VP, not like a banker) at a fortune 100 company. So maybe there's something to his approach.

Out running errands this morning getting ready for a big race of ours tomorrow. Stopped in my favorite divey donut shop. No frills, warm glazed donuts. Pour over coffee from a Bunn machine. 400 pound dude owns the place. Fold out card tables. A newspaper laying around. Grainy tv in the corner showing Fox News. You know the deal.

I’ve been looking forward to this all week. Sometimes the simple things in life truly are the best.

Sounds like this place, minus the folding table. Red’s here in Paducah, love it for my weekly single donut indulgence

Our OOC Schedule is dope. Miami, Gonzaga, Kansas, UNC….Loui….nvm. Who has 5 better games than that? Not many, and if so only bc Louisville is unfathomable.

Miami, Gonzaga, and a deep SEC at Rupp. New Mex, Marshall, St Joes, Ill St, Wilmington are solid+ early games on a cupcake/buy game scale.

I’ll clown this argument every time it comes up.

Believe it or not, UK has played early OOC bums in between to start the season since I was born. Any false memories of Pre Cal having a slew of Top 25 teams enter Rupp in Nov/Dec are just that.

Same as every other Blue Blood. Post their OOC Schedules + home marquees.

Castellanos is the one that got away from both the Cubs and Reds. Both teams needed that exact player this year.

Monster series. It’s hard to hate the Phillies but I can’t say I honestly want this hot streak to continue to the WS. Smoke the Dodgers or Dbacks, absolutely, but I prefer the WS to actually be a 6-7 game series.

I mean, that’s one of the wildest finishes you could ever see. Wtf. Game was a big play seesaw from kick.

WVU: 4th & 10 for the loss, 50 yd Toss to take lead with 12 seconds.

Houston; 50 yd Hail Mary at .03 snap to win at buzzer. 2 TDs in final 12 seconds. Unreal

Just Brutal for Neal.

I can say my biggest issue with the extended playoffs is the 5 game series. FOH

Best of 7 or get pumped!

I legit felt bad for Grissom there. He was about as disciplined as the Ump allowed by calling 2 low balls a strike. Strahm pitched that last AB about as perfect as you’d want, ump made the calls with the electric crowd behind him. Tough spot.

Was hoping for one last Acuna appearance for the drama.

The Cardinals went 83-78 in 2006 and won the WS.

The Twins won 85 in 1987 and won the WS.

Yankees won 87 in 2000 and won their 3rd straight WS.

This is nothing new.
Why I said pre-1995. At least the Twins in 1987 won their division when only 4 teams made playoffs.

Every ALCS/NLCS/WS felt epic growing up because teams had to be great/elite to even make the playoffs. Now it's just horseshit. Texas-Arizona WS I'm rooting for just for the horrendous TV ratings it will generate

Just because Philly beat ATL you want crap ratings? Philly is a damn good ball club that is just all over it at the plate at the right time.

Philly/Texas and I’ll be glued for that WS.

The best MLB teams have not consistently won the championship in a long, long time.

Being on a roll in October is half the battle.

Truth of the matter is, it came WAAAAAY too easy during the regular season for some of these teams. A friend texted me during the game and said ATL isn't feasting off pitchers like Luke F. Weaver anymore. They relied so heavily on the long ball all year.

I am a bit jealous though that Castellanos turns into an all-out assassin against the Braves 3 years too late.
