- We need to retire the term “Big Blue Wall”. It’s just no longer applicable and hasn’t been for a while.

- It’s not entirely fair but there’s a legit argument that Leary has performed as the worst QB in the SEC while playing the easiest part of our schedule… (14th in completion %, while only 13th in yards/attempt, dead last in interceptions, 13th in QB rating, etc).

- Our defensive game plan is one for a team that is vastly more talented than what we are.

Not sure a team 7 games into their season is going to figure anything out.
Seems to me they are who they are.

UK 16th in preseason AP hoops poll. Even with all that incoming talent, AP voters know who the coach is.

Guess I’ll take Dallas -1 tonight.

Tried to keep busy and not bet it but it took too long.

I got Dallas +3.5 and the under 53.5 after the first Charger TD. Was sweating the spread after that muffed punt but the over was easy money. Still don’t really know what I’m doing betting but it at least makes the games much more interesting. I’ve watched more football in the last 2 weeks than I have in 20 years. I guess that’s what they want, more eyes on the games for advertising purposes. Well that and idiots like me that will eventually lose it all back.

So, you covered the over?

* A's reliever Trevor May announced his retirement yesterday, then dropped an absolute nuke on owner John Fisher....

"Sell the team, dude. ... Sell it, man,'' he said. "Let someone who actually, like, takes pride in the things they own, own something. There's actually people who give a s--- about the game. Let them do it. Take mommy and daddy's money somewhere else, dork."
"If you're going to be a greedy f---, own it," May said. "There's nothing weaker than being afraid of cameras. ... Do what you're going to do, bro. Whatever, you're a billionaire, they exist, you guys have all this power -- you shouldn't have any because you haven't earned any of it, but anyway, whatever."

🤣 🤣 🤣

That's an exceptionally well timed "dork" blast, imho.

FYI: John Fisher inherited the Gap fortune. I've got a lot of bad college wardrobe choices (looking at you, black pants and shiny blue shirts) that contributed to this dude's wealth.

* News I expect to see Geese Feeder ripping someone's *** on Twitter over:

our (supposedly) very progressive District Attorney here in the Crescent City got carjacked with his 78 year-old mom last night. 🤣

probably let out without bail lololoahahahaha

* Pretty crazy how important some people can be in people's lives despite only really taking a very small part.

What a voice, man. What an impact.

* Like King Lebron James, Bryce Harper was a superstar-to-be by the time he was 16 years old, also appearing on the cover of Sports Illustrated. He's had a career that was every bit as good as advertised, and I feel like he's sometimes even a bit underrated. Early in his career, he was constantly criticized for being too flashy -- helmet flying off, tossing his bat, celebrating too enthusiastically, wearing too much eye black, having a crazy haircut, etc. One of the most annoying aspects of baseball, imho. When he's on, he's soooooo much fun to watch.

* When do pitchers and catchers report?

* Next book up --> David Halberstam's classic The Best And The Brightest.

Very interested in anything Israel/Palestine/Gaza, fiction or non if there are recs out there.

* Uh-oh. Sparks are about to fly.

Renata just found Club Pro Guy's burner phone. 😮😮

* Dick Vitale just keeps beating cancer and coming back. Man, that dude is gonna die in the booth, and I'm totally cool with it. What a legend. What a life.

* Gal getting her hair done right now. Motherf***er. 🤬

Probably gonna have to sell a car or a kidney or take out a HELOC to pay for this. 2-week vacation to Europe is usually cheaper. F'ing women.

* Hans Kim just isn't that funny. TS.

- There's a new trend among high school football programs now where seniors go to their favorite/most inspirational teacher and give them their jersey to wear on game day.

#1. That's cool as hell. "Football Guy" got one right with this move.
#2. This trend began at the last school I was at. I taught only freshmen all day so I didn't really register with many seniors and I understood that.
#3. Here at my "new" school, I was approached last Thursday by a kid I taught last year as a Jr. and then I have right now as a Sr. Freaking blew me away. You never know who you impact in this job.

- Has Halloween become the new Christmas as it pertains to Holiday spending? I live right outside of Bowling Green so this shouldn't come as a surprise to you all in the #smuglife, but my neighborhood looks like a Hot Topic store caught a stomach virus. No telling how much Home Depot Bucks or whatever has been spent on giant, 15 foot tall lawn monsters and exterior illumination. They're all trying to outdo each other and have probably racked up 3-4 GRRRR in debt.

I don't have kids old enough to trick or treat anymore, but I'd tell my bunch to steer away from these places. No way they have any money left over to have decent candy to hand out.

But seriously, I think our society today celebrates Halloween with more fanfare, more longevity, and with more "credibility" than any other holiday.

- Not to go all "she's a good person," but Hunter Biden is sorta handsome.

- It feels like it should be Thanksgiving instead of Halloween right now anyway.

- I'm not sure if he's underrated, overrated, or properly rated, but Kyle Kinane is one of my favorite comics right now.

- Unless we just fall back to Joker-level embarrassment, I don't think I'll ever be ready to send Stoops packing. He's earned his stripes and we're UK football. He's allowed to have a couple of down years as long as we can look forward to that one big season every 3 years or so. We know what we're getting, both good and bad.

With that said, it wouldn't break my heart if he took another job or retired or went to the booth. I like him. I respect him. It's just . . . whatever. We're the Iowa of the SEC now. Respected. Competitive. Good seasons mixed in with some MID. Is what it is.

I generally had no idea how much women’s “stuff” cost when I first got married but I was legit stunned at the cost of haircuts/color/style and skincare regimens/serums/potions/whatever. I had no clue.

Personally I feel like getting a portal QB every year and depending on that vs bringing kids through your program and then learning your stuff along the growth years is just an impossible strategy to maintain successfully.

We’ve not had terrible luck at that with Stephen Johnson, Terry Wilson, Levis and now Leary, but you have to develop a kid at some point right?

At this point Cutter Boley probably starts next year.

I have no idea what my best friend pays for her hair/nails/salon etc. I also do not know what we pay a lady to come once a week and clean the house. I do however know that both seem to be worth every penny.

-women's clothes/shoesare a racket as well... "this year's look" or whateverthefuck.

^I have pants that are 20+ years old, still look great. Shoes I've had for 30 plus years... collars on shirts/lapels on jackets/sportscoats change, but as long as you don't chase trends and the fabric is correct, that stuff lasts forever as well.

-jeans for men: slim or straight...there are dozens of options for chicks.

-I can buy anything online and be confident it'll fit correctly...wife and girls order 10 items and keep 2. It's a chore. Glad I have a penis.

If they keep 2 consider yourself lucky. During covid my better half started ordering all of this **** online, most of which she ended up wanting to send back. Which really meant me boxing it up and taking it to the UPS pick-up spot. That got old really quick. Now if she wants to send something back it’s all on her, which now has cut down on her frivolous online purchases quite dramatically.

We don’t do lawn decorations for Halloween but that may change soon. My 2yo is obsessed with them. A house on the way to his sitter has a full blown tales from the crypt style lawn right now and he makes me bring the vehicle to a creep and roll the window down so he can stare at it each morning. It’s very sweet and a little concerning. On the ride home from Santa Rosa he would watch videos of Halloween decorations for hours. Might have to actually go get the 14’ tall skeleton. Hopefully they take klarna.

Speaking of being broke, one thing I am thankful for with my wife is she doesn’t spend money on hair. She’s got beautiful natural curls and keeps her hair the way God gave it to her. #Blessed

I will never understand how the Doritos company hasn’t released a shaker of their cool ranch seasoning. Can you imagine putting that stuff on a totinos pizza? Or a burger?? They would print money!!

The Phillies are fun man. Just a roster full of dudes who flat out mash. Hoping Bruce Harper gets his ring. Dude deserves it.
