There’s definitely a huge difference between powerlifting, bodybuilding and training for sports performance. My friends always joked and called me a “powerbuilder” because I lift like a Powerlifter but try and look like a bodybuilder. Just recently I’ve stopped going super heavy as when I woke up in the mornings my joints hurt. Feet and ankles were just shot in the mornings til I moved around some.

Trying to do this for another 20+ years so I’m toning it down a bit.

* rogue's posting has been exceptionally ****** today, which is really saying something. We really need to give him a Mad Libs style posting script, that involves nothing more than waxing hoes, living in paradise, making 6-figs wearing flip flops to work every day, and living that bach life.

* It's totally cool to despise a player but still love the program, right?

Aaron Bradshaw is social media-savvy and is very aware of the speculation about his status at Kentucky this year after a foot injury suffered at the McDonald’s All-American Game in March caused him to miss UK’s four exhibition games in Canada.
He had been off limits to media members since getting to Kentucky but that changed at Wednesday’s Media Day and the 7-foot freshman said the social media speculation did bother him.
“I hate rumors. You feel me?” Bradshaw said. “I’d rather be told to my face. Ask me. I like to be asked questions. I don’t like that whole ‘putting something on my name’ that I have no say-so in.”
Bradshaw called it a “lot of BS” that he had seen about him and his future on social media. He also made it clear he plans to play this season as soon as he’s cleared to go.
“I came here to win a national championship. And continue on my journey,” he said. “People just saying that, and people trying to paint a picture on me. I mean, it’s gonna happen.”
He pointed out that NBA star LeBron James gets talked about. Star Kobe Bryant did before his passing just like a lot of other star players do.
“I can’t really complain because I signed up for it. So I gotta take it day by day,” he said.

He's just like Kobe and LeBron.....PUT SOME RESPECT ON HIS NAME!!!

* Decided to sponsor a local taco/tequila/music festival last night. One of those things where, for a fee, you get to set up a table and promote your business. Only did it because my buddy is the one who produces the festival, so whatev.

The setup --> there's basically 79 tents giving away tacos, tequila, mezcal, margs, beer, and staffed by hot young ***, and I'm over here like a BISP slanging insurance. On a hunch I brought a big *** cooler and stocked it to the gills with bottled water. That $40 investment literally saved the day, and my booth was crowded AF for no other reason. I'm an expert marketer.

* Totally comfortable skipping Game 1 and the Georgetown exhibition tonight to go watch Killers of the Flower Moon. But, 3 1/2 hours? Yikes.

* Absolutely amazing that the Maine killer is still on the loose.

* Given the importance of tomorrow's Tennessee game, it's pretty amazing how low key the hype has been this week. I hate to say it, but I feel some apathy setting in. Like the last Rich Brooks team and the first Joker Phillips team, fans just kinda realize we're about to be a fairly boring 6-7 win team. Please, dear god, let us pick up a W tomorrow.

* Ever open one of those little Starburst 2-packs and they're both yellow? That's kind of what Kentucky football feels like at the moment. I'm still gonna eat them, but meh.

* I'm Linkedin buds with a guy who used to be the GM of the AAA team here, and he's always posting jobs opportunities in MLB. The A's are currently looking for a Director of Minor League Development. I mean, I've got an MBA and on the board of the local Chamber of Commerce. I think I'm a good fit. Probably 1-2 promotions away from GM of the Cincinnati Reds. Thoughts?

Your frugality would fit in well with the front office mindset of the Reds. You should have saved that cooler of waters, could have sold it in the Reds clubhouse like the A's and their coke machine in Moneyball.

-I’d be very surprised if that marine wasn’t dead in a shed somewhere.

-Don’t see Killers of the Flower Moon in theaters, I’m telling you. It’s way too long and slow as hell. I LOVED the book but the movie was meh. The 3 people that were with me didn’t read the book and basically wished they hadn’t gone to see it altogether.

The story needs to be told but JC there’s no need for 3.5 hours plus 30 minutes of commercials and previews. We got there at 7, the start time, and walked out at 11.

Also- dad strength is a thing. Lifting weights with my son adds an extra 10-15% of weight per exercise, easy.

Gotta let the kid know old head’s still got it

You know what else adds an extra 10%? Slamming caffeine right before you lift. My 305 may have been drug-fueled (God knows what they put in a 5-hour energy), but I don't care.

-We probably got some posters FUMING over meathead talk. Oh boy. Been meaning to start a separate thread on the subject.

-Maxing out regularly at 40+ is a bad idea. I'm just surprised Wayne can get his head b/w the bench and the bar. It also has to burn him up that I can probably rep his max, granted I've never tried 305lol.

-Tell me socials isn't awesome. Yesterday I saw a whale jump and take out a guy wind surfing. Unbelievable.

-Rick Pitino says he had more pressure at Iona than any other job in his career, including Kentucky & the New York Knicks. “It was the most pressure I’ve ever had as a coach. More than Kentucky. More than the Knicks… If you don’t win that (conference) tournament…” Never change, Rick.

-I don't really see what the issue is with stealing signs BUT since it's Michigan, and f*cking Harbaugh, I think death penalty.. like the actualy death penalty by electric chair or hanging, is the only reasonable option.

-Coffee is the only caffeine injection system. Grow the f*ck up.

* rogue... making 6-figs wearing flip flops to work every day
And still on government cheese health insurance, apparently.

* I'd bet a ton of money the Maine shooter killed himself in some rural location. They may never find the body but he'll never be seen alive again.

* For as down as we all are on UK football right now, a big win tomorrow could get a lot of monkeys off Stoops back. He's notoriously bad off a bye week and against UT. Plus we often slide toward mediocrity later in the SEC schedule.

If we kick the dog piss out of the Vols tomorrow, the BBN will explode with excitement for this team.

Why wouldn’t I be on ACA/Obamacare? You think I want to pay full price when I don’t have to? Do you think service industry jobs, for the most part, offer any decent insurance?

Even when I was running the training programs and assistant GM at both Proof locations in Lexington on salary they didn’t offer any health insurance.

So yup, I’ll take a $450+ tax credit all/air. What’s next, you’re mad I don’t claim all my income?

During Covid, my roommate applied for an EBT card and he had to put everyone in the household down. They sent me an EBT card for $167/month that I didn’t need without even asking, hell yeah I used that.

Not much going on today Brody. Already hit the gym at 5, walked the dog 1.5 miles, threw out some rezzies earlier in the week, hitting the plant store after lunch for some air plants, maybe a bike ride later.

Also, I barely posted for like a month until I got to SP so I’m making up for you all missing me.

Good to hear Bradshaw say he came here to win a national championship.

In the past few years, I had begun to think that Cal was just telling all the players to tell the media that they are "chasing #9" so the fans would love them, but in reality, they came to UK because it's "Players First" and they're only focused on getting to The League.

I’ve read enough Stephen King books to know that this Maine shooter did what he did because of the voices in his head, tried to escape into the woods, and was captured by some eldritch beast and taken to some incomprehensibly horrific nether realm where he’s being flayed alive for eternity.

It’s Maine. It happens.

Shorts:

- Is it just me or is the foliage especially lit this year? Absolutely stunning in Northern Campbell County over the past 10 days.

- So I guess “wild” is the new hot adjective. Have only heard it used 500x this week.

- Starting to get HYPE about Big Blue.

- Picked me up a 4-pack of Great Lake Christmas Ale Barrel Aged. Could be awful but curiosity got the best of me.

- The good news is that my daughter’s communication skills have really improved. The bad news is that it turns out she’s kind of an a-hole.

- Was fine with Bradshaw’s interview. He’s Gen Z.

- wcc Meathead talk:

* Goal is the same as its been for 10 years- just want to look decent to good with my shirt off

* Kinda funny to see all these babes at the gym with a disproportionally sized azz

* I get the benefit of a trainer but the gym is my time. I like listening to a podcast and doing my thing.

- If it wasn’t Tennessee, I think people would be a tad more optimistic.

- Maine may be my favorite state I’ve visited. Also a big fan of Virginia and Georgia. California is tough as well.

Also, why does the K on the cookie cake look like that old Dave Matthews logo?

Pretty solid spread. Got your chocolate, SPK's, white cheddar popcorn, cookies and drinks. If you threw a few IPA's in there then you basically have my Sat 10 pm door dash order from 7/11.
