I don't like bagging on college kids too much, but if you're going to demand and accept hundreds of thousands of dollars there damn sure better be some accountability around your play.

The drops, fumbles, and smelling your GD finger from our WR group is one of the most inexplicable and unacceptable things I've ever witnessed.

I'm all for reformation and giving second/third/fourth chances to kids, but if the coaches can't have consequences for these bozos then they should be the ones that get dealt with.

Free 6, pony up, etc...good grief.

I do not think piglet is back next season.
I get that the unknown is supposed to be all mysterious and scary. “Who can we get that will do a better job than Stoops,” and whatnot.

Let me preface this by saying I have low confidence in Mitch’s ability to not f*ck up the next hire.

But we’re a program on the rise. Should be a fairly easy sell to a young up-and-comer.

Hopefully Michigan doesn’t steal Stoops away at the end of the year. Or the Packers.

Probably not, but the windfall from these jobs along with a few other B10 jobs could.

His “pony up” comment showed a clear and understandable issue he has here that is a legit hinderance to his goals.

Personally I think he is checked out(for lack of a better more accurate term) at worst and at best complacent.

He just seems to have hit that career stalemate point where anyone has those thoughts of “something new/different” could respark that drive.

I know people think his investment into RD1 is a draw here, but honestly it’s a better reason for him to not be here especially since he is not a day to day hands on investor/employee.

All of that is just opinion based on what I see and hear from the man himself in interviews etc and how he has carried himself vs past seasons.

I’m not sure what B10 opening it takes but I’m ok now with whatever it takes to open up and Stoops leave and us find a different coach.

I’ll always love the guy like Brooks, but it’s probably time. I hate it.
It may be time for the jump. As in we had Brooks get us out of the cellar and some big wins became seasonal instead of once in a generation.

Stoops got us from a blue moon 7-8 win season to that being our floor with a ten win season possible on a every 5 year basis or so.

Maybe it is time to get the next guy to take us a step higher of beating USC, MIZZ, regularly and UF and UT being a 50/50 every year.

Idk, I love Stoops and what he’s done. He’s great for our program. I worry though we get some other coach in here, does well and hers immediately whereas Stoops will stay minus a couple jobs OR he fails miserably and we’re back to 90s-00s UK FBall.

Take it from someone that has suffered through this for a lot longer than the vast majority of you on here.

Stoops is the pinnacle. He's as good as it's ever going to get here. Yep, I'm peeved about the way this season has unfolded, and I get red ***, but big picture, UK is always one bad decision away from 2-10/1-11 The margin here is RAZOR thin, and it just takes ONE tiny ripple to bring down what is essentially a house of cards.

Barring a major infraction, the earliest that anyone should be talking about moving on, would be 3 years.

It certainly weakens the “these kids aren’t pros” shield.

@Strokin_Bandit well technically he is the only coach to ever do it here in the modern era. And UK seems to be at more a disadvantage than a KSU/KU/NU/UCLA/Arizona/etc. with SEC competition and zero recruiting base.

-That being said, the transition from hardnose *** kickers that don’t take **** has turned into primadonnas that actually take a lot of ****, talk trash while taking *** kickings and have zero fight REALLY quickly. Thats disturbing.

-Without a good showing in basketball next years sports menu looks pretty blah and very uninspiring.

FBall very well could be worse with a tougher schedule and without some major additions.

Bball without a good showing this year will make what, year 5-6 of **** basketball as well?

That makes for a loooooooong fall and winter.

He sell RD-1?
Making 9 million a year I honestly don’t really think RD whatever it’s called is going to keep him around for any reason whatsoever because he’s definitely not making a mill a year off sales.

I think that factors in an entire 0% of his thought process of staying or going.

Bourbon is a big deal to you all, not the other 98.5% of the country, just saying.

Two things that I almost never see discussed when people compare coaches of this era to the ones we've had in the past, purely in terms of Ws, are that:

1. We play 12 games now.

2. It's now widely accepted for all but one nonconference game to be scheduled against non-P5 teams.

Bill Curry went 4-7 his last two seasons before he was asked to step down. In both years, our non-con games were Louisville, Cincinnati, and Indiana (we went 3-3). You don't think we make bowls both those years if we replace Cincinnati and Indiana with 3 games against Ball State, Miami (OH), and Akron?

I don't really agree that nobody else could give us similar results, at least to the past few seasons. We are winning more games, but against who? Yeah, we beat Florida more often, but so does everyone else. Stoops is 2-9 against Tennessee, which is also a much worse program than it was in that era. We do beat Vanderbilt more often, so there is that.

The formula is now to win 3 cupcakes, beat Vanderbilt, and then you have 8 games to win 2-3, with 3 of those comings against Louisville, Mississippi State, and South Carolina. Seems like there’s a lot of coaches that could accomplish that most seasons.

100% False… football money is a joke comparatively. $9M is peanuts if Campari, Saz, Molson/Coors, Deageo, Constellation, Ross&Squibb, international conglomerate swoops in and add WmTarr to the portfolio.

Alright maybe I’m just different than others but I don’t give a care about 100 million dollars if I’m making 9 million/year. What are you going to do with an extra 100 million you can’t do with 100 million after ten years of coaching football?

If I had 9 million dollars alone I wouldn’t work, I’d own a gym and just travel, workout and chill. No need for more than that and honestly don't need more. Someone else can go work their life away while being rich AF, I don’t have any desire for that.

Distilleries and bourbon brands are selling for 100’s of millions of dollars.

While I agree with you, I also think you are totally unaware of the industry.

He built it. He deserves a chance to fix it. Just my opinion.
I don’t want him to leave, I’m not calling for him to be fired, and in my life time no one has ever done well enough to leave for greener pastures.

It feels like it’s coming to me, is all.

I don't see any scenario short of cheating scandal where Stoops isn't back next year. Who's going to hire him? He's coming off back to back lackluster seasons. He's not going to be anyone's first, second, or fifth call at this point. He's not going to retire. Also, he is absolutely in no danger at all, as far as Mitch goes, of being on thin ice and he's paid extremely well for mediocrity. He's not going anywhere.
The one thing that gives me hope is I don't think he's the same kind of guy Cal is. I think he's willing to make difficult changes if it benefits the program. It's not all about him or that he knows best but that may be a byproduct of not having that level of success.

My first thought about “cheating scandal” was banging Kelly Craft or Mitch’s wife or something along those lines.

Rooting for you, Piglet!

I'm not a fan of bourbon, but this is just talking out of your ***. Have you seen the secondary market for bourbon?

I think your experience is in South Florida, so by all means, speak for them. Nobody is going to the beach and slamming Pappy.

Just because you don't like it, doesn't mean it's not popular.
