When did the night before Thanksgiving get a title? Drinksgiving? When I was growing up it was just Thanksgiving Eve or You Gonna Go to the Drawbridge? Night in NKY

That “holiday” is the only one I can think of that is absolutely specific to a small window of time in your life, basically 18-25ish. Maybe a little longer if you were single and weren’t spending Thanksgiving with your significant other. But man, what nights those were, especially when in college.

Adding to Chad's post, I haven't seen BBN fired up (the good kind) about anything basketball in a very long time. Despite Cal, I happen to think we're gonna have a very good squad this year...and most of all, they're a joy to watch - that counts for a lot given the slog we've grown accustomed to.

Jaime Shaw of On3 put out his (lazy ***) Freshman Power rankings Top 10, missing Reed (but including DJ), and BBN swarmed in with pride like the good ole days. Made me smile.

UKFB trades Akron away game for Southern Miss home game next year.

Checked the Shaw post, we still got it.

28 man golf outing today, high of 48. Dry. I'll take it.

Beating Louisville will numb some of the pain, but not all of it. Go Cats.

Thanks for posting. Just got in on that action too. Looks like he just went through the top rated players coming in without giving any thought to how the first few games have went. Very symbolic of the new era scribes

-KY Friend sent me a tree cam pic of a black panther walking by a couple days ago. Not many feral hogs around his place I’m guessing.

-Nothing to do tomorrow but wait til 1:30 to fly to Lexington and join the fam at moms house.

Definitely thought about having some cocktails/Friendsgiving with the neighbors tonight but meh, I’ll just gym in the morning and do the usual schedule.

-I REALLY wish sports reporters (and people in general) would stop calling anything physical in the NBA a “fight”, hell goes for the NFL as well.

Those athletes are some of the most awkward, least hand eye coordinated people in the world as soon as a scuffle starts.

The NHL calls bs on them ever being called a fight. And as an MMA fan, it’s ABSOLUTELY not a fight when huge dudes push each other a miss swings by 2’ with their eyes closed.

Ive seen many wild cats in my time living on the banks of the Cumberland river. I’ve only seen one with a tail like that and it was about 50-75lbs larger than any bob cat I’ve ever seen. Either bob cats are evolving into a larger breed or the eastern cougar isn’t extinct

South Carolina had the best atmosphere of any game I've been to. The lights and music (however awful Sandstorm is) brought the energy and the crowd was nonstop. And that was for a boring shitshow of a game that neither team wanted to win.

We had a great tailgating spot in one of the official lots right outside the stadium. Most of the people around us were nice. A few were awesome.

That being said, I was screamed "F*ck Kentucky!" or "F*ck You!" in my face at least 2 dozen times. Probably closer to 30. That is not an exaggeration. If you wore blue, you were going to get screamed at. It was mostly students and 20-somethings, but it was ridiculous.

Traffic is a shitshow, so we were doing some postgame tailgating in our spot until it cleared out. Pretty subdued because we were all pissed off about the loss. One of my buddies walked a little ways away because he was talking to his wife and kids on the phone. He damn near got Ryan Lemonded. 3 guys came up to him and started pushing him and rooster crowing in his face. Before he got punched some cool SC fans saw it happening and chased them away.

I hate those scumbags and hope we beat the everloving **** out of them for the rest of history.

But, damn. There was a lot of nice scenery and they were all wearing leather. Is that a thing on college campuses this year?

Turkey Etoufee and Cajun Stuffing from B&T for the second time in 3 days.

If I could make it even remotely similar it would replace tradition turkey and dressing on Thanksgiving.

I hate Thanksgiving. Glad I get to spend part of it in an airport.

Clearwater has been a godsend. Hate holidays since I can’t see kids but a small part of the day.

Me and my daughter on this trip. It’s been fantastic. Cannot stress how great Dad/daughter time together is.

Weather has been magnificent with today being the first exception. Cool, cloudy, and some rain. It’s supposed to clear out in a bit. Hope so…have a sunset cruise lined up.

Beachcomber last night. She had lobster tails and I had the seafood platter. A-

Blinkers tonight. Hopefully as good as the last time I was here.

I’m really proud of The Faithful with how they reacted to that Shaw nonsense.

Felt like old times. Early on in his tenure Cal used to feed us bait and watch us attack a biased “journalist” like a gang of piranhas out for blood.

I miss those days. We were all unified.

This is a good sign along with Cal dressing like a sharp *** dude once again, scoring in the 90’s and embracing the 3 point shot as a weapon.

It’s starting to be fun again.

I really admire how The Faithful will do whatever it takes to defend one of their own as they see fit. Similar to the John Higgins incident after the elite 8 loss to UNC in 2017.

Some say they took it too far but we live in a results oriented world and the result was John Higgins never officiated another Kentucky game.

You're embracing the 3P shot because that is all you have at this stage, and a limited roster is always a plus for Cal, especially one w/ multiple guards. Once he sees the big men adorn the paint, the lineups change, minutes change, and shot selection will drastically change. The more players Cal has, the worse he gets. The substitutions will be a revolving door and this board will revert back to buying him the first bus ticket to anywhere.

You can shelve this one for later in the year. #lock

That’s what JVC doesn’t get- we LOVE petty BS, but we’re on your side, Coach. Let’s direct our collective crazy outward, instead of inward. All of BBN wins that way.

Man if I had to be honest, and I know Marquette may not win this game, but Marquette and Arizona have been the two toughest teams I’ve seen so far.

KU, MSU, Duke and Purdue just behind them and then I’d say we are right there with a lot of potential to crack that 6 team first tier.

Maybe Shaka isn’t a spotlight type of coach because he has only really struggled at Texas.
