Again...that makes no sense. "Pure" can be defined countless ways.

Trout, Judge, Acuna, Alvarez, Ohtani, Seager, Betts, Altuve, and a slew of others are more rounded hitters than Soto "now". Not denying how good he is, and he may or may not resurrect his '21 season, but I would guess the short porch in YS will be to his liking and his numbers will go back up.

The meaning of a pure hitter traditionally met a guy who put hitting first and foremost and was awesome at it (perhaps at the expense of other parts of his game). I define it as such:

1) Hits for average and power
2) Consistent year to year
3) Smooth looking swing
4) Great eye
5) Doesn't really focus on other areas of the game

Examples: Ted Williams (the ultimate), Edgar Martinez, maybe Joey Votto

The guys you mentioned (Acuna - base stealing, Seager (good defense), Betts (awesome at everything), Altuve (too short) have other things going for them. Yordan Alvarez is a good example though, although I'd argue Soto is better.

-Loved seeing that ***** Dickinson finally get some karma/punishment for his ways, but also chaps my *** that IU (riding high after the MONSTER road win vs 4-5 Michigan) now gets them in Assembly without the big guy. 🤬
Is he actually suspended? All I saw was a tweet from a fake Rothstein account. (Jom instead of Jon)

And little Hoosier Boy at my office was very proud of that Michigan win and acting like it proved they have a floor of the Sweet 16 this year.

The only good thing it did was shut up the Michigan idiots in my office for a few minutes.

I know college coaches get paid an obscene amount of money but I wonder how many of them constantly ask themselves why they deal with all this bs. Could easily go to NFL and have half the headache.

Agree- but then you have to deal with a different type of nonsense. Look at the Carolina Panthers, for example.

Hey, I’m all for folks living their lives as they see fit. Fortunately, however, I detected a healthy amount of sarcasm from my 3rd and 5th graders. The kindergartner was all about Sophie, tho.

Yeah, that was a pretty good trade all around.

That’s what your wife said last Saturday night.

Lolol

A 55 degree day and bluebird skies is something special in the winter.

The solstice is only two weeks away. It will be all uphill soon, folks. There has been so much death all around.

The Feast of the Immaculate Conception is a holiday, did you know this?

This means that Mary had a baby without a penis ever being put in her. It’s pretty amazing, really.

I am at the point where I just want to order pizza every night. What is the go-to cheap pizza place? Pizza has gotten expensive.

For the longest time Papa Johns had a $6.99 one topping carry out deal that you could add toppings to for like $0.75 a piece. It covered many parties and quick dinners after practice. Then they raised it to $7.99 last year. Now it's $9.99. Still cheap but not cheap enough to choose it over Little Caesars when you're feeding a bunch of kids who think pizza is pizza.

I think Dominos still has a $7.99 one topping carry out but I'm not close enough to any.

Watching Home Alone with the kids the other night, they ordered 10 pizzas for 110 bucks from little Nero’s in 1990. Not sure why pizza is still the same price at some places, but I sure as hell wouldn’t trust it.

It’s really not the same price- in fact, generally it’s almost doubled unless you’re getting Little Caesars.

This may be a crazy thought but I think Little Neros was probably a play on Little Caesars.
