Actually shared that yesterday with my brothers-in-law in hopes to get them to move to Kentucky. Don’t think they’re buying it.

He’s the freaking Polka King of the Midwest! The polka “kings” of the northeast, southeast, and west are (at best) titular at best. Those who know recognize him as our leader.

I think he’s gotten the credit he deserves.

My daughter has finally gotten on board with the Home Alone movies. Until recently she was scared of Marv and Harry and them getting hurt.

My son however, thinks it's the pinnacle of film making. I thought he was going to hyperventilate laughing so hard at the brick scene in Lost in New York.

I think it’s the Dodgers for 500-600M, but I’m scared the Cubs could make the play for him.

After the injury if you let him pitch again you are a stupid organization anyway, and I don’t think he is a 500M player even in this market with just the bat.

Little Caesar's deep dish is a godsend when it comes to needing a cheap/quick pizza fix. Have one down the road we hit when we have zero desire to cook and a little pocket change to spare. I am still in the camp of liking Papa John's. Guess I do not understand the hatred for it. It's not the best but certainly not the worst.

The Cubs aren’t going to sign Ohtani. The Dodgers seem to be the clubhouse leader but I’ve heard not to sleep on Toronto. That could be just smoke from Ohtani’s side to up the price.

I listened to a podcast last night that said he can a problem to deal with off the field. He apparently is a real prima Donna. He would probably be worth every penny of 500 million but as a Cubs fan I just don’t see it happening.

- Swapping out the folded egg for a round egg on your McDonald's biscuit order is always a great move.

- Saw Ohtani vs. the Blue Jays in Toronto this summer and have never seen/heard a crowd with such anticipation for every single at-bat. Homered on his very first swing, and you would have thought the Jays had won in a walk-off. They're legit contenders for him....looking to take advantage of their Bichette/Guerrero window.

- I'm a sucker for those "lookalike cams" at NBA/NHL games. They always seem to discover a true dead ringer.

- For some reason, this year's Christmas shopping has made me a little sad. Kids have grown up and mainly just want clothes and experiences. It's easier, to be sure, but I see parents looking at toys and games and find myself missing those days.

- Been on a big backgammon kick. Wouldn't mind getting a nice new board for Christmas.

I love backgammon. Problem is I can’t find anyone that knows how to play. I did play online with someone named WYVERN123 the other day. I could only hope it was our own Wyvern.

The guy that taught me the game was also my coke dealer. Spent many nights at his place running the rails and learning the game. He was a crazy Palestinian guy that also sold pot to customers at Red Lobster. Old boy would deliver it right to the table in the basket that the bread came in. Hell of a dude.

Not that Ohtani or his agent won’t listen to anyone else but as of last night it was the Angels, Dodgers, Cubs and Blue Jays as a the top 4.

Cubs are thought to be a spot because of some kind of relationship to Seiya Suzuki and the idea we came up just short and lost Ohtani to the Angels originally, apparently.

I hope we(the cubs) focus on Bellinger first.

I have heard that the Suzuki angle may be not as important as many think. Something about the Japanese culture and not wanting to be in competition with another Japanese player on same team. I also think the weather will play a role as will the distance from the West Coast, which is 4 hours closer to home. The Giants have been flying under the radar so that may be a surprise pick but I’m going with LAD.

Rack KL’s take re: Xmas shopping for older kids.

Related: the “Marvels” movie that came out this year was the first Marvel/Star Wars movie in like 8 years neither kid had any interest in going to go see. Used to be a thing we did, now it’s not.

*opening chord of “Cat’s in the Cradle” begins to play*

-Y’all are boring me with the baseball talk.

-So to bore you all in return, I will tell you how the elf brought a snowman to the kids today, but it melted. So it was just a ball jar with a carrot, a button, 2 sticks and 2 googly eyes. Kids laughed. They are spending the night with grandparents soon and George is asking if the elf will come there. (She won’t.) Any creative ways to work through that?

-If you all feel the need to buy toys, the Angel Tree collection closes tomorrow. Go adopt an angel at the mall.
