Friday randoms…

- Wife and I made the decision to sell our home and move back closer to her family in CT. Key factor was being close to help with the kids. This past year has been brutal on the wife so the house is going on the market today if anyone wants to purchase a new build on Siesta Key.

- Drove over to the Gator Bowl on the 29th. First UK loss my wife saw and she was pissed. Interesting to watch someone who doesn’t have the football scars as a long time fan. She just kept saying, “we’ll win bc we always win”.

- Speaking of the bowl game, one play that I haven’t seen mentioned in here is the Clemson fg in the 4th. Where we were sitting was looking directly in line with the cross bar. If that ball was one half a rotation less, it’s no good. When it was kicked, I thought it would land in the end zone. Literally 2-3” would have made a diff.

- Basketball team coming around, especially Wagner. Just seems in control of his game right now. Seems like everyone is progressing according to plan, except Edwards. If we could just get consistent performance from him (10 & 5) every game, this team will take a leap. I just don’t see the athleticism I thought he would have.

- We are going on about day 75 in a row of someone in our family being sick. Have all been to the dr, just keeps hanging around. I’m guzzling NyQuil before I get in bed. Stupid cough in relentless.

- Van restoration is moving slowly but getting there. 89 VW is worth some $$ but we are WAY upside down on it at this point. Hopefully it continues to appreciate with time.

- The employee I referenced a few wks back is still employed. He made it through the holidays.

- Count me in the “Vrabel is an OK coach, not great coach” camp.

- Think the Michigan and possibly FL St/Wash job will still open. Still a lot of ripples left. Jimmy Sexton is happy.

- Has anyone else just been constantly bombarded with spam calls in the last 2 wks. I got 12 yesterday alone. About half of them are leaving voicemails now.

- Been chilly down here…actually had to turn on the upstairs heat. Need to get back into the high 70’s and out of this low 60’s BS.

- Glad to see Rogue is doing better.

- Have a great Friday.

The spam callers/texters seem to go in spurts. I got a zillion bogus calls and texts for a 2-3 week span, blocked all the numbers, and I've been spam free for a few weeks. I'm sure this will cycle through again and I'll be on the list again shortly.

It's irritating for me, but at least I know they're spam and can ignore it. My 85 year old grandma can't tell the difference between spam calls and texts and real ones and gets scared she has to talk to someone. No matter how many times I/other family members have told her she doesn't have to respond and doesn't need to worry, or how many times I've showed her how to block numbers, she just can't remember and ends up scared again and again. For that, I hope every spam scambot DIAF.

I think the Edwards' minutes ordeal is getting a tad overblown. He played 32 minutes against UNCW. Since then, his highest total was 24 minutes against UL, when he had 13 points. Our 2 most competitive/close games in that stretch against UNC and Florida, he played 13 and 18 minutes respectively.

That, to me, is evidence of a coach trying to get a guy going, but not at the expense of the team. Everyone bitches about him starting or rather not earning his starting spot, but maybe he is earning it in practice. It's just not fully translating over to the games.

If he continues to struggle, I think you'll see his minutes reduced like in the UNC and Florida games.

I’ve always felt like I’m a guy who got kicked out of the halfway house and is on the run with warrants so he’s living on the street version of Todd Svoboda.

Scoot Henderson is a homeless man's Rob Dillingham

Height: 6'3
Pts: 12.2
Assists: 4.9
Rebounds: 3.0
Minutes: 27.9
FG%: 36%
3PT%: 29.3

My boy Bill Simmons suggested that the Hornets draft Scoot over that murderer guy from Alabama.

You guys need to stop with the comps. Their two games couldn't be any more different. He's way better than Wemby tho, per much of GYERO.

-The UCLA/Cronin collapse is pretty wild. That ***** is easily one of the most hatable coaches in all of sports, but he's also proven he can coach. Seems his attitude finally caught up with him, as his squad has straight QUIT.

Lost to Utah 90-44 last night, which makes 7 straight, all to unranked teams, including CSUN & helping Cal break their 20 game or whatever P12 losing streak.

Yikes.

I don’t think there’s anyone in Cincinnati that actually misses Cronin.

There's a rich history of truly terrible takes in this thread. But some of these comps are approaching the pantheon.

🙋🏻‍♂️ was wrong. Would have taken Scoot over Wemby but it was based solely on players of Wemby’s size having devastating foot injuries. I guess I could still be right but it ain’t looking good so far.

I don't have an issue with people thinking Wemby was an injury risk, but why was Scoot considered a can't miss prospect? Fella was a 6'3 PG who shot 27% from 3 in the G-League in 2022-23. I was pissed that the Hornets didn't pick him based on what everybody was saying, but looking back I don't understand what the fuss was about.

However this comp is 100% above board and will be proven right.

Cronin's, Mick and his dad, have few friends in Cincinnati. Not a great personality fit for LA, more a Big East style. Story is, supposedly, while looking at jobs, his ex-wife had to agree to move to the place with their daughter or he wouldn't take the job.

Spam calls are like rats, kill one and three more pop out. Looking at you Bowling Green, 270.

Doublestuffed going from Siesta Key reports to Huskymania. After dying a slow death, your obituary will read, "and was a big fan of the UCONN Lady Huskies". Good luck.

One of my best friends worked on Cronin's staff at UC when he first got there. Surprisingly, he said that Cronin is a lot more personable and patient inside the basketball offices than the image he projects during games and press conf...LOL nope he's definitely the gigantic prick everyone thinks he is.

I feel like I look pretty good in my face for 41 and my Mom looks great for 73. Her mother looked amazing as well and people would ask if they were sisters.

Well, at Joseph-Beth Bookshop the other day we’re asking about some books at the counter and then she walks away to look for something.

Dude goes, “what was your wife’s member number again?”

Me, “well that’s my Mom and I have no idea what her member number is but I’ll be sure to relay the compliment 😃

Bookshop dude: 😳

Mom after hearing: 🥳

-Leaving me a voicemail is akin to trying to reach me by a note in a bottle thrown in the ocean. It will never be listened to and immediately deleted, wish I could turn voicemail off. Just text me.

- @august-west shewee, that’s a change. Siesta Key to CT, touch me, winters going to be tough brother. Why you have to leave me bro, we’re only like an hour apart?

-Comedian and full time crazy person Joey Coco Diaz eats 1000mg Death Star gummies all at once…

I’ll be honest, I don’t think I get ANYTHING from 10mg, but I pop them in the morning before I head to the gym just to be chill and smile a bit.

That’s one of the negatives of FL’s weed program, only 10mg gummies. My dude in Richmond had 65s which I really like a corner or half of one of those, but that’s a nighttime dose for sure.

- @rudd1 looking forward to it man, was wondering if you’d be there. As long as the weather cooperates I’ll for sure be back in time. Hoping to be back before the game.

If any of you are in Logistics/Transportation Biz Development you can GFY. Twice.

The volume of calls, emails, & Cold Call drop ins from that sector is absolutely ridic.
