Taken in it's entirety, there is no other way to view Caliparis' tenure as anything other than a massive underachievement/disappointment. A train wreck. Train wreck is severe, I take that back. Four Final Fours is silly to call a train wreck, but the last half of his career is sketchy, and the last third IS a GD train wreck. 4 tournament wins in 6 years, and one of the worst regular seasons in the entire history of Kentucky basketball. On top of that, he acts like a complete douchebag to the fans, and is the highest paid college coach in the country.

Have any of you knuckleheads considered that maybe he’s single-handedly going through the UK coaching cycle of HOF-OK then stale- drunk/probation/fire him please?

Much like Tom Brady could be said to have had two or three separate HOF careers rolled into one, I think Cal might be running through this cycle all on his own. Which is good news for whoever we hire next!

It isn't as cult-esque as your incessant love affair with Stoops and how UK's offense is going to put up 50 a game next season with an unproven backup qb.

Are there forms to sign or robes to wear for said cult? Maybe a welcome center?

Asking for a friend....

I respect the mental calculus. I also think you might have an amphetamine problem.

Dad/family chad is a much kinder/friendlier chad. It seems like a pretty good look for him actually.

LIttle by little, GYERO is losing it's fastball, but that's probably a good thing. All beer bongs have to turn into starched white shirts and Werther's Originals eventually.

It's the natural order of things.

-I’d like to be considered an exception as well please, forever 25 for better or worse, for now…

Some say problem some say solution it’s all in the angles
-Is your meth problem like the song about drinking that says, “They say I got a drinking problem, but I got no problem drinking at all.”?

-Speaking of meth, I can’t count on one hand the number of adult 30 year old friends of mine who WANTED to be on adderral and after a few months either said, touch this I’m reliant on it every day and we’re consuming way too much or well I guess this is another addiction I now have but it’s okay because “it’s DOCTOR PRESCRIBED I NEED IT!!!!”

That stuff is bad news. Plus, the last thing I need is more go juice, that’s why I always like downers (booze & weed), I need to slowdown if anything.

-I feel Chad 100% right now! I have two dogs at my house and it throws off my morning routine so I’m finally, firmly in the parenting seat with you all. I KNOW how you feel… 😆

FIFY. I can’t believe that you, of all people, didn’t get that right.

- August I brought up Mark Pope last year and was roasted. Realized quick some fans don’t care about the nostalgia of a former player coaching at UK. Fair enough.

- I’ve seen alot of chit chatter which still seems like a waste of time, but any list without Chris Beard seems incomplete. He’d probably be my 1, 1a and 1b at this point.

- We have settled on everything for our house to be built except the appliances, fixtures and paint colors. All of which are no rush and allow the builder to go without any input from us. That makes me comfortable and given those phases aren’t until June at best this should be an easy project.

- wcc having a kid this weekend really took me back 14 years when we had our first in 2010 watching then #1 UK vs a top 15 Vandy team. Her family knew I was a UK fan, but it was that day they realized what that meant.

- Interest rates went up last week? That’s odd considering they’ve been dropping and are going to continue to drop leading into the election.

- I have a chance to get my hands on some solid used bourbon equipment. It’s probably 70% off and it’s 5% of the cost of the equipment pack I was hoping to get but it’s a lot smaller too.

- After hiring Doc Rivers the Bucks are 1-3 and collapsed last night in the 4th quarter getting outscored 40-13 in a 15 point loss.

Doc was immediately granted All Star HC duties.

Something is way off here.

- Growing up I was a huge fan of Bob Marley so I’m happy to see this movie coming out. Dudes story is documentary worthy more so than a movie though.

I fully admit if he weren’t a former player he probably wouldn’t be on my radar but that isn’t the only reason I think he would do well.

Yeah I know UK has fallen on some relatively hard times but I’d like to think we could find a coach who doesn’t have a recent mug shot
If losing a lot has taught us anything it should be……Just win baby! I don’t give a **** what he does in his spare time as long as he beats UT, UNC, Kansas and UL on the reg and gets us to the FF.

Those short comings are like insurance chips for us. If he sucks we can pull the “you got a DUI” card on him and jetson his ***.

Maybe I’m a sanctimonious *****, but I’m not interested in having a woman beater as coach here.
Dont get caught up in thinking anyone is a good person anymore. Everyone is terrible and either found out, or probably will be. Furthermore dont consider college sports as needing good people- focus only on if they win games, and bring in money- thats what college sports are. Losing track of that is dangerous.

Everything else is background noise that gives outsiders and envious fans a reason to justify their own misery, and sanctimonious journalists a reason to publish their stupid drivel on their social media.

Everyone in college athletics is an *******. You're either a successful ******* or a loser.

Mitch ain't leaving anytime soon.

Univ. of Kentucky AD Mitch Barnhart has “signed a contract extension that could keep him in charge of the Wildcats’ athletics department through the 2027-28 school year while foreshadowing a possible next step for his career.” Barnhart’s previous UK contract was "set to expire on June 30, 2026.” The extension does "not change his base salary for the next three years,” and he will be paid $1.275M in 2023-24, $1.35M in 2024-25 and $1.425M in 2025-26. Barnhart’s salary for the two extension years will be $1.55M in 2026-27 and $1.7M in 2027-28.

Am I mistaken in thinking that’s exactly what happened on the heels of him hiring BCG? Didn’t they just hire Cal and tell Mitch to f*cl off?

I’m not entirely sure I’m a “good” person, but I can say that I’ve never beaten the **** out of my wife. So it’s ok to draw a few lines on this stuff imo.
It's possible that the accusations could have kept him out of a job if the girlfriend didnt publicly claim later on that she lied to police and that she provoked him to ultimately act in self defense.

Birmingham has taken over from Memphis as a heavy alum destination for Ole Miss people- and from what i've gathered between the initial hire and now has been a feeling of: "Yeah maybe not ideal but lets see how it goes" to the current stance of "Great ******* hire, man"

Her name was Randi. I can't stress this enough that none of these are my words- its what she actually said in the aftermath.

She later claimed that Beard was acting in self-defense and that he never strangled her, stating "As Chris' fiancé and biggest supporter, I apologize for the role I played in this unfortunate event. I realize that my frustration, when breaking his glasses, initiated a physical struggle between Chris and myself. Chris did not strangle me, and I told that to law enforcement that evening. Chris has stated that he was acting in self-defense, and I do not refute that. I do not believe Chris was trying to intentionally harm me in any way. It was never my intent to have him arrested or prosecuted."

Obviously UCL was not aware that she broke his glasses before he villainized Beard
