-Pretty sure Jenny has been calling games or something for the Rockies for years.

-So stoked to live in a spring training town. I see a lot of spring games in my future. Definitely going to see some Yankee big dogs play for cheap.

-Last night was “fine”, but anything less than a win or at least respectable game @Auburn and nothing is different.

- Edwards and his 7 points in the first 3 minutes and 7 seconds of the game will guarantee he will start every half until he goes to the NBA. That will end the season eventually.

- The customary slow down ball that begins around the 8 minute second half mark will also end our season AGAIN, eventually. Scored 7 points after the 7:44 timeout.

- I for one think Big Z staying on the bench will hurt as well.

- Would love to see what would happen one time with Reed and Dilly starting.

- This team is built for March will be the rallying cry for either the Cal slurpers, or the Cal haters sometime after March 21. I am pretty sure I know which one.

- Kingsleys for some NY Strips, Double Baked potatoes and their lunch hot table.

I’d already been told that’s what we wanted for dinner tonight, but the had some Chilean Sea Bass I wanted to buy but at $60 a pound I had to pass. That is possibly the best fish I’ve ever had.

- It sure seems like the fans, even in here too, if we aren’t winning by 30 EVERY game then everything is wrong and sucks and delve into doom and gloom.

I know it’s all Cal, but there isn’t a coach we play against for the rest of the season that doesn’t wish they had our roster.

- Give me USC tonight vs Auburn. The SEC is deep!

- I feel bad for Texas man. They were legit Top 5 with Beard and headed to the SEC, but they had to fire him and now he is on a different SEC team and going to beat them their first year in our conference.

- Women are the weirdest breed this world has to offer. I asked before surgery is there anything she wants or needs done to comfort her in case she has to stay a couple days or that would make her time when she gets home to be easier.

She honestly thought about this for 24 hours, had a man willing to do just about whatever, knowing how stressed she is, to make life easier and she asked for me to get her nails done.

JFC, I mean ok!

- Surgery was set for Friday but got pushed to next Wednesday now to give her one last blood transfusion beforehand to make sure she is in a good place first.

Probably too much info, but damn the concern and stress this typically normal procedure is causing has her a mental head case.

Holding out hope that a lot of this nonsense is to save some legs for March. Would love to see each of these guards have their game in the tournament. We have had enough Kemba games, Napier/Boatright games, Jared Harper games, Markquis Nowell game, Daryl Banks game,

It is ridiculous how many guards have torched UK in March. Maybe it’s our year for that.

Tournament is late this year (3/21) so who knows, maybe that is some of it.

But more than likely it is just Cal being a terrible coach

You really think the fans are complaining because we’re not winning by 30?? Have you not noticed how many games we’ve lost this year? The fans I know are bitching because we lose games.

Of course every opposing coach wishes for our roster because we have more talent than anyone. Our idiot coach doesn’t know what to with it.
But yes everyone’s upset because we’re not winning by 30. Probably your dumbest take so far.

But
It’s pretty clear to me that Klutch told Cal he’ll never get another Klutch athlete if Edwards doesn’t start.
But why if it’s hurting their “product”? Do they think telling GMs he started every game is going to make them draft him even though he was terrible?

-Momma Rogue has agreed to go to every game moving forward and clear her schedule if we can all pitch in for tickets.

Every donator gets cinnamon sledges at Christmas and she will read to your children at night before bed once a month.

-You fellas can give up on winning Valentines Day, @HUBER just knocked it out of the park sorry.

-Heart doc in one hour can’t wait to get it over with. Decided to wait and smoke afterwards so I don’t miss anything lol.

-Cancelled my shoulder MRI Saturday. I probably shouldn’t have it documented that I have a completely trashed shoulder that will require surgery in their dime while applying to the firefighter academy.

Reckon I can wait, it’s been toast for 15 years.

Cal’s only elite remaining skill is getting top recruits. If he were to get a top guy and not play him (regardless of how bad he is), other coaches can say to recruits, “hey, Cal is bringing in 8 new guys every year and there’s a chance your *** lands on the bench.”

By starting Edwards and Wagner he can accurately tell top 10 recruits that he will play them regardless and get them into the league.

I realize this isn’t groundbreaking stuff, but one of the reasons who you start matters is that 99% of basketball teams start their best players, so you have your best players in against them, then you have your backups against their backups, etc.

I am not sure our coach grasps this concept.

I honestly don’t think he thinks about optimization, matchups, etc. He just throws everybody in when it occurs to him to do so, not thinking about who they’re replacing. Unless they’re John Wall, Anthony Davis, Kahlil Whitney, or Justin Edwards, he primarily gives minutes to who he deems to be playing well that day, however he decides that (the process is obscure to me).

It’s been said before, but what I wouldn’t give for a “platoon” system again. At least that gives an appearance of some sort of premeditated approach to a game.

We won and people are still crying and complaining.

I could give reasons for loses and it wouldn’t matter, those are just Cal slurping excuses.

Oh well. I’ll go on cheering for my team and laughing at how bent out of shape others are getting.

Don Gullet lived 3 blocks away from me in my town during his short stint with the Yankees…RIP.

Along with Graig Nettles, Gene Michael, Thurman Munson, Catfish Hunter… back then they had to live with regular folk. I played on the purples with Catfish’s son who chewed tobacco in 3rd grade and Nettles kid on the Giants in 5th grade.

Lee Mazilli also lived in my town but didn’t count because he was a Met.

The platoon was the laziest thing he’s ever done. Instead of utilizing all that talent to exploit matchups in certain games, he just spread it equally. Made it super easy for other teams to gameplan us as well.

Lmao, yeah we were “super easy” to game plan against that year 😭. In certain games? We won 38 in a row.

We lost bc Cal choked & went ***** ball and let them dictate - his signature. Same thing that cost him a Natty with Memphis with a BIG game in hand, and countless since here.

…. And Wisky played a dream game. And NCAAT. And a ******** game turning call.

Sure, I hope to never see that again. I’m certain we won’t.

2nd worst loss of my lifetime, but But 38-0 squashes any ridiculous revisionist arguments, get real. Was an absurd season until…that won’t happen again the rest of our lives. I get zero satisfaction from it, but cmon.

Great topic 👍🏽

Yeah I don’t see how that’s relevant. UNC, KU and these squads are still hitting FFs and maintaining status quo. Houston has been on a run since Sampson settled in, UConn is on a tear, etc. There zero reason UK shouldn’t be.

Heart Update:
Went to the cardiologist today, I’m cleared to go back full on in everything, hoooray!

But my heart still can’t keep up with a full bjj session just doesn’t pump well enough yet as it’s definitely damaged, get super tired and winded quickly.

Doc said take two meds/day and come back in 3 months for another echo. If it’s healed this whole thing is over, if not I get stints.

Oh and it was 100% drinking like a touching ******* for a decade plus.

Ha, Killa hates some WCS.

I get it. He picked a horrible time to have his worst game, no doubt. ☹️

Estill pulled the same **** in 03 tbh. Have always thought we overcome even the DWAde historic game if he didn’t get abused to infinity by Robert Jackson (24 & 15)

Ok, so you named 4 programs and I agree they are doing great. We had that same run 2010-2017 and by our standards we’ve slipped the last 5 years.

But if this is as down as we get then I believe each of those schools have absolutely hit the skidz worse than this and while you mention UNC I think they went to the title game 2 years ago and missed the whole tournament last year with the whole team back minus 1 player? They also got beat last night and have 6 losses including a loss to us this year? Do I have that right?

Or if I say anything positive instead of piling on like the rest of you am I just a Cal slurping idiot?

The reason I asked if College Basketball is in a healthy place is because it matters. Regardless of how down you are on Cal there is maybe only 5 programs that wouldn’t trade places with us today and that’s with Cal included.

We are currently a Top 25 team at 17-7 and have one of the best rosters in college. Four of our 7 losses are without our starting PG. We currently have arguably a Top 2 recruiting class locked in for next season and despite all the negativity from segments of our fans the home crowds have seemed alive and well the last 3 home games. Of course you’ll bring up the booing at the end of whatever game it was and I’d argue that’s a fair booing directed right at the man that it was intended for.

I’ve said several times I know Cal’s issues and the problems the pissed off fans have for him, but I have been a fan my whole life and I’ll continue cheering my team and hope for the best. Thats not popular around here and that’s fine, but I’m not the type to give up so I’ll cheer these guys until the season is 100% over and then I’ll live my life and if Cal leaves or is fired I’ll be just as excited as everyone else.

I just won’t sit here in misery and soak it what’s not. We got a squad and those boys play to win and I see it and I want the best so I’ll cheer for them until it’s over and then I’ll cheer for what’s best next year.

I can’t control UK sports, and I didn’t sign Cal, and I can’t fire him and I don’t have 32M to hand over to fire him and……………..

I don’t know what else to say now call me a Cal slurper idiot. I’ll be here Saturday cheering us like I expect to win.

It’s that damn simple for me.

Rack. This is really the only thing that needs to be said about Cal. The rest of the bitching (of which there are many and are justified, no doubt) all are subsumed into this ultimate fact.

Hey, maybe he could start Rob, Reed and Reeves, that would be sensible and swell, but it doesn’t matter - we know what’s going to happen in the last eight minutes. Because that same scenario has played out every night in our collective nightmares for going on nine years.

I’m going for big family valentines dinner out at a local tacqueria tonight. The kids love it when the Mexicans put on the big funny hats and sing silly songs.

Fired up the ol’ trusty Weber Kettle this evening and grilled some nice thick bone-in chops. The Blackstone and the Smoker are great but it’s nice to bring the WK in from the bullpen from time to time. It’s like that buddy you have had since elementary school that you don’t see very often but when you do it’s just like old times, never missing a beat.

We were lucky to beat Syracuse in the Elite 8. That team peaked against UCLA in December or whenever we played them.
