Reed Sheppard is my favorite Wildcat that ever suited up. Love every single thing about him. Even when he makes a mistake. He owns it. He doesn’t have bad body language or make excuses. I’m sure the same for some of you.

The reason I bring this is up is we’re about to offer him a $1,000,000 NIL deal today for next season. He will have to work for it. That’s a lot of autographs/photos across the state. Honestly, we’ll have to work just as hard to get the $ back or a large portion of it. With that said, we’re willing to work too.

He’s worth it. It’s worth a lot of it just to get to see him play another year at UK.

Shep is not only a UK fan favorite- he’s a favorite of every single basketball nerd I’ve come across. Vecenie, Dauster, etc just gush about the kid.

Then you throw in Dillingham, Reeves, Thiero and Z. Could be an all-timer team as far as love if they make a run.

That’s awesome, but have any of the players reached the maximum of an offer?

It would seem for the player there is probably a happy comfort zone that doesn’t reach the full million but earns enough for the level of stress it would create.

Thats still an awesome situation. Congrats!

-Elon thinks I needed to see Ennis' meltdown last night in my feed, even though I don't follow him. He's right, it was magical.

-Team just needs to win. They've got all the losing the need under the belt. Go run the damn table.

-I we can get to a 3 seed. That's a massive win from just 7-8 days ago.

-I love Shep but it would be wild to return with a lotto pick all but locked up. He'd be a legend, for sure, but I just can't imagine it.

-Adou is the one to watch. That guy will be special next season. Get him back and I'm happy.

Joe has done more for the UK football/ basketball program than most will ever know. He deserves the statue above any coach in any sport. He could and he might. I just don’t know the answers though.

I heard if Cal will promise him the 3 spot once Reeves leaves it would be a good move.

Just bought my first ever minivan. Not sure how to feel about it. Pretty keen on my haggling ability tho. Maybe I should've been some kinda smooth talkin', wheelin' and dealin' pitch man or a grifter of sorts, instead of spending all day on AutoCAD and cat paw.

HOFCJVFWC gonna get us all the way up before letting us down again, isn't he?

First sandlot game of the year coming up this weekend. I'm sure to pull a quad or two (my own).

My 6 year old plans on asking for the Reed Sheppard at the barber this afternoon.

If I could add any CBB player to this roster, I'm going with Knecht. Although the perfect fit, IMO, would be a Willie Cauley-Stein type, if one existed. Thought Bradshaw was gonna be that.

I’m not convinced Dillingham would play any more min than he currently does bc of fouls and there is something to be said having that kind of firepower off the bench.

That being said, I’d still start him to try and maximize min with the other starters. Reed should def be starting and should play all his min with reeves.

NIL compensation comes into play now. His leaving would have been a no Brainer a few yrs ago. That and his parents are fine financially I assume

Cal won’t let him stay. Not one player here that was projected lottery has ever come back because Cal basically tells them to GTFO. You can blame D.J.’s dad for that.

None of them grew up wanting to be a Cat above all else. It's a fair point but this is a different situation for Reed than it was for those guys. They came here as a path to the NBA. Reed wasn't a potential lottery pick a year ago and probably himself didn't know he would be as good as he's turning out to be.

The #10 pick makes $4.5 million next season, and Reed can make every bit as much in NIL money as a pro than he can as a college athlete. Or probably more.

Quit pretending college NIL money will somehow bring him back as a sophomore. If he wants to come back for personal reasons, he will. But it won’t be for money.

This is the #1 and #2 draft pick saying you’re wrong. 48:25 mark.
