First Wodie Crew tailgate I attended was at Vandy in 05. The game Rafael Little went off.

Walked up to Anth's Tahoe(?) and Wodie was in the zone rapping to Manny Fresh with a drink his in his hand.

Has Richie ever told a story where I wasn't rapping? [laughing]

Dude either has selective memory or he REALLY loves it when I rap. :sunglasses:

Actually don't mind it bc you get so passionate while you're rapping. It's like you're envisioning yourself in your own hip hop video.

Remember walking up to the tailgate and hearing Manny bumping. Walked around behind the Tahoe to grab a beer and there you were in your own little hip hop world intensely dropping every line word for word for the entire song.

GYERO began late 2002 I believe, maybe 2003.

I met the crew in person August 2003 for the first time. BBdK's go-to-shot back then was a Boxed-lunch or some ********. Introduced him to jagerbombs.

Lunchbox ftw.

GYERO, or the same thread in other forms was going at least a year or two before you came down to meet us.

I really love it when Adrian raps too.

First "Gyero" tailgate I attended I was a bit confused. Figured I was going to hang out with Sloot, Pti, 80, Adrian and bunch of old Delts. Saw the banner, got some strange explanation about what it meant... I remember meeting Coolcat, and thinking what kind of dorks meet people on message boards...and call themselves Coolcat. Laughed about that to myself at his wedding last year.

Met WildcatChad in Detroit for the Michigan State game at Ford Field. Thought it was odd the crew would go on a road trip with some weirdo off a message board. Love that little guy.

Didn't really understand it all till about 2008 really. Hook was set.

Fun times.

I remember going to Owensboro and watching Wodie battle rapping against Tupac at midfield of the Pontiac Silverdome. Things were going poorly - service was definitely on the table - until Wodie pulled out a crispy fresh verse at the last second. The entire Carrier Dome erupted in applause, a riot broke out, Tupac committed suicide, and everyone went to LaBamba's. Remember it like it was yesterday.

I've met 3 of you in real life. Both times I was identified unexpectedly and caught way off guard. Kind of a weird world we live in.

It's different. I guess after it's happened maybe 100+ times (no exaggeration) you get used to it.

Half the time it's people who've NEVER EVEN POSTED, are just lifelong lurkers. "Hey BBdK, lol. You don't know me, I don't even post, but I've been following you guys for years, thanks for the entertainment. Where's Lauren, she not make it to this game?"

...it was certainly several years before the Tweonz

And they're starting middle school in a month. [laughing] It really is something how long this thread, including its core contributors, has been around.

Chad's date of 2002 is probably pretty close. I know the crew wasn't around for September 11, unless in a limited, lurking capacity.

GYERO started on Rivals in late 2002 or 2003. The old UBB General Discussion board was linked to up top n the early years after TCP & KSR had migrated over to the Rivals network. The precursor to GYERO existed on that page for a while. Wasn't the first one on Rivals called Son of a Son of a GYERO?

My first post was after I moved to Georgia in the fall of 2003. There had been some towchop threads but when I posted it was still titled 'Get Your Everlovin' Random On'. That is why I believe 03 to be the beginning date.

Ode to Wodie Sloot. I think old MiddleGaCat had a serious internet crush. Hell I think all of those that didn't know her did back then.

I met a very sauced BBdK at Jack Demsey's while I was hanging out with my friend's wife (my wife had some work gala and my friend was working late).

Later he posted on GYERO about my wife (friend's wife) being a smoke show.

I promptly FWD'd a screenshot to my buddy and he is still pissed about it to this day.

Started in 02, shortly after I graduated, got a desk job, and started sitting in front of a computer all day long.

AGS -- where are they now? (seriously? he's a cop??)

It was a Pizza Hut get together and ukfanincincy big timed it and picked up the tab. Pretty certain BOTH smokeypole and catinthefort attended. Maybe oledon, too. So, yeah.

Ha. That girl was dope (or maybe I was just hammered, which I was)...did you not try to play it off as your wife? First time I'm hearing (or remembering) this development.

I mean, that whole deal with Sue D's cousin ... and the horse. Lordy. Pretty sure that spawned my first ever created GYERO thread (after the previous one was incinerated) - "Now 100% Horse-free!"

GYERO was just so damned mean back then

And that's what made it so great. The way some posters would get run was brutal. Pretty sure some of them logged out and ate a bullet. I'd be shocked if Bubbles is a normal, healthy, functioning member of society. Same with PCC.

BTW, everyone has had an Internet crush on WS at some point in GYERO's history. Don't anyone bother denying it.

GYERO was just so damned mean back then. Unbelievably so, in retrospect.

I was pretty bad. I did a whole parody of Twas the Night Before Christmas to mock Cindawg for being a white trash ***** once. It stayed up for all of 45 seconds.

Also used to kill some kid named Lazy Tuesday or something like that pretty much weekly. Did a ripoff of the Affleck monologue from Good Will Hunting about the best part of my day being looking for his obituary in his local newspaper hoping that today might actually be the day.

And a million other awful things I'd never say on here now.

No one was meaner (funnier) than PTI. The mods would get annoyed with all of the crew, but they flat HATED PTI and, to a lesser extent, Bernie (RIP). Even JDrum was like "Damn, PTI is a DICK." [laughing]

I definitely did not play her off as my wife. That's what made the post so great. And she played it up (after the fact) to needle him about working late too much. And the guy is my best friend/roommate for 7 years, so I was happy to not lay off about it AT ALL.

She was/still is dope. :100points:

I'll bring it up next time I see him.

GYERO was brutally offensive up until a few yrs ago. The vulgarity, the cruel and mean insults. Non PC doesn't describe it with justice.
