It's honestly the worst situation to be in long term. How much harder was the Tubby transition/decision than Gillispie? Now imagine that we actually had to fire Tubby. It would have been miserable hearing what an awful, shortsighted, win at all cost, racist, piece of **** institution the University of Kentucky was for doing that. Hell, we still caught some of that and Tubby basically had his bags packed at Christmas to take the Minnesota job unbeknownst to his bosses at UK.
UK got destroyed and to this day, lots of people still think Tubby was fired or forced out. Truth is, if UK came out and said Tubby was a lazy n-word and they're hiring Donald Sterling as AD to fire him, it probably would have gone the same way it did.
UGA would take some heat firing Richt but nothing comparable to that shitshow we went through.
