for what it's worth, tigers two best 72-hole scores of the year were at greenbrier and quicken. both impressive showings preceded majors where he missed the cut.

so don't get too carried away with your excitement.

he'll win another major. maybe two. but this tourney didn't do much to prove or disprove that theory.

PTI(pti) is really perfecting the art of taking both sides in this little argument. Bold.

Bravo!

Belt loop, ring finger and collar snugness are the 3 indicators that I need to drop a few LBS when I'm avoiding the scale.

Speaking of belts, what is the GYERO Fashion snob's rec for a good one/brand/etc?

Haven't bought a belt that wasn't from TJ Maxx/Marshalls, maybe ever...stepped up to legit brand shoes, think I finally need to for belts. The cheap ones just do not last.

The big worry i have about Tiger is, he does have the chipping yips. Not on flops, not on a few other types of chips but the one he had on #11 was a yip with a tight lie.
I have noticed on many occasions Tiger is now putting where he would have chipped in the past, possibly chipped in or gotten it tight but now he may putt and not get it up and down. This is without question costing him strokes. He simply cannot play championship caliber winning golf with that fear.

My main 3 belts I've had for 8+ years. None were very expensive, I think one was like $60. Just picked up a new one this year, reversible for every day use, never spent $100 on an Italian leather belt.

How do you wear belts and shoes out so frequently? That's weird.

Tiger isnt done, and I've NEVER said he is. I call out anyone who says he is, and I call out anyone who thinks he's going to win 5 or 6 more majors. Those people have mostly disappeared, but we are left with goobers like you who nut all over themselves every time he breaks 70. This is it! He's turning the corner! He's back!!!!! No.

He's a beat up, surgically repaired, oft injured 40 something who's a shell of his former self. He'll still win, because it only takes 4 days of great play to do so, but it's also ok to face reality. It has been, after all, going on EIGHT years since his last major. At what point do you become the boy who cried wolf? He's back!!!! Rolleyes.

Enjoy searching for that fountain of youth. I'll stay consistent. He's not done, just old and beat up. Got some wins left. Probably a major. MAYBE even two (but doubtful), but every single day it gets harder for him.

I'm inconceivably hard on shoes.

Upgraded form Steve Madden to Cole Haan/Johnston & Murphy a few years ago as requested....and yes, they lasted longer. But not much over a year, and that included a re-sole. I'm on my 3rd pair since then. :100points:

Have no clue.

Who on here has said he will win 5 or 6 more majors? Serious?

Very. This has been going on for like 5 years now. I'd say it was about a 50/50 split at the time this began whether Tiger would break Jacks record or not.

Anyone who thinks I'm playing both sides isn't privy to the ridiculous texts I get every time Tiger fires a 68. He breaks par at the gd Wyndham and I get barraged with texts from BbdK clowning me about how done Tiger is, he'll never win again, he's too old, he's past his prime.

He didn't win yesterday, btw. Hasn't won a major in almost EIGHT years. So yeah.

Stoops on KSR at 11 FWIW

really hope the Sat midnight (ok 8 pm twilight) practice becomes something legendary if the team is special this season. if we are competing for the SEC East come Nov ESPN can whip up one of their sappy vid packages that they do so great:

"It was a bad practice....then a bad scrimmage
(insert vid of Stoops from Sat morning in all his fiery ginger redassness)
then...the coach brought them all back to do it again"
(vid with slow guitar music showing team assembling in the semi-dark)
this was the moment everything about Kentucky football...changed"

Speaking of the University of Kentucky, I had a real vivid dream about it last night. Campus, classrooms, etc. Just a real positive, nostalgic dream. When I woke up I was convinced (briefly) that I needed to move back to Lexington and near UK.

Sometimes I forget that I really liked my time there.

You didn't forget to show up for a class an entire semester & miss the final/fail?

GYERO meets real life: I was helping move things after a family member's funeral a couple days ago and there was an item with a card on it from Wodie Sloot. That probably seems small to most, but reading/lurking GYERO has helped me a whole lot during the last two weeks. Anyway, whatever. catsfanbgky still sucks.

Appreciate the expertise, still.

Tough break for today's UK undergrad. That crossword got me through many a lecture in White Hall. Those dorms tho.

Yep. Caimpus looks amazing. Almost unrecognizable.

I admit that I wasn't too impressed by Capiluto when he was hired (nor was my tenured FIL), but he seems to doing an awesome, awesome job. My FIL pretty much worships, and that's saying something.
