Just got an email on a biz quote for a Valley Station Jimmy John's that's apparently imminent. That's potentially dangerous. :flushed:

-Congrats, 80!

-I don't know if he'd win or lose (I know little-to-nothing about Fayette County politics), but think it's pretty cool the DCCC would approach Jones about running. That has to be an amazing honor.

I'd be interested to see how Barr and the GOP would treat him. I mean, in spite of any political differences he's got a damn loyal following. Too much mud might backfire. Be a fascinating thing to follow, imo. I think it's a can't lose decision and wish him well whatever he decides.

Think it would be interesting if Mags ran, but the potential backfire is real. He's not really replaceable on the radio show...there is a reason KSR is good. What happens to the show?

While the fanbase has overall enjoyed his political events/debates (imo), I think he has done a good job so far trying to remain neutral during these shows. (We all know he is a bleeding liberal) That may change big time when he throws his hat in the ring. Granted Lexington isn't exactly Billy Jo Wildcat territory, but some lines would be crossed.

He's definitely wired to make a successful politician, be interesting to hear what his ideas/platform would be.

Selfishly we all want KSR to stick around. Tough call. Running for Congress or continuing to live the UK fantasy. I think you're right, once he decides to run it'll be hard to turn back at that point.

I don't think any numb nut could host KSR. But I think plenty of numb nuts could probably host KSR. I don't know if that qualifies as a controversial opinion or not. There's difficulty in running a radio show, sure, but I don't think KSR is wildly popular because Matt and those guys have electric personalities. They are smart enough to stay out of the way of the obsession people in this state have over basketball and let it do it's thing. They were the first to figure out that you could suck in all the information from across the web into one convenient place, combine that with developing a few sources (yes, including premium boards, though that's not my main point.) and have a catch-all site that would get a ton of hits. For that, they deserve everything they've gotten. But Matt's personality (which is perfectly fine.) is not the "magic" behind KSR.

As much **** as I've given Matt over the years...he is the perfect guy for KSR and I think it would take a hit without him.

- He's smart. He can argue points without stooping to gay/poop jokes.

- He doesn't, or at least pretends, to not take himself or the site too seriously.

- He has the trust of people around the program. He doesn't spout off about things he isn't supposed to, something that I'm sure is hard to do, since he has so much information and a huge platform.

Matt should get advice from Rob about running for office. If you run for Mayor of Prospect and have crazy rumors being spread by your opponent over that job, imagine the ferocity of running for a congressional seat in Lexington in a presidential election year. Every woman Matt has ever dated, every incident at a tailgate, and every Drew Franklin SnapChat will be scrutinized to the fullest.

It's quite impressive that DCCC would ask Jones to run. No doubt.

Selfishly I hope he doesn't for KSR purposes.

Matt's still young. Why not ride this KSR wave for a while and then do politics later in life?

It's amazing how much he's expanded the KSR footprint in just 5 years. It's now syndicated on over 30 stations throughout the state not to mention the pregame/postgame stuff, speaking engagements, summer tour, etc, etc. Crazy success.

Kinda hope he decides to run, just to see the response of Jurich & the Floyd Street Mafia. Hopefully he ends up running for governor.

VOTE RAMSEY IN 2027 BRO

Yep. Caimpus looks amazing. Almost unrecognizable.

I admit that I wasn't too impressed by Capiluto when he was hired (nor was my tenured FIL), but he seems to doing an awesome, awesome job. My FIL pretty much worships, and that's saying something.
Was in Lexington for a few days this past week and went for a run through campus, first time doing that in probably 10 years...it kind of pissed me off how good these kids have it compared to when I was there. UK campus of the late 90's early 00's was basically a relic of the 70's, from the dorms to the bar/food options/campus life. Everything from the buildings to the lassies are fresh and non-stressed, it's incredible how much it's changed for the better.

Thanks for stopping by, Killa!

FYI: he just texted me a minute ago and wants everyone to know the dress is white and gold, not blue and black. We got you down, bud. Talk to ya again next August at the Barron!

Day 15 of being back on the ‪#‎Zija‬ nutritional products and eating healthy. I'm down 27.8 LBS!!! ‪#‎Boom‬
To all the guys out there! I have far too many male friends seeing amazing results with this product to not share it with you. Thinning? Bald spot? Decreasing hair line? My friends have all had one of these and are now sporting more hair than they've seen since their early 20's! $33 for an entirely new head of hair? Seems like a great deal to me! PM me or comment below if you are ready to see your own before and after!

whatever party leadership (pelosi, hoyer, schumer) decides it is.

The same way Barr campaigned on being outside the establishment, then toes the party line once elected, except the opposite.

Keep telling yourself that one day one of these guys is going to change. Not going to happen, Adam. It's all about the election not what you do when you get there. As long as it's a fundraising arms race this will be the case regardless of affiliation.

We are all fuc*ed really. I'm resigned to the fact nothing is going to change at the federal level. Gonna focus my efforts and concerns as locally as possible.

There is no way... I'm talking nada, nothing, Nathan, way I see Matt actually going through with this. He's gonna use this exposure to further his brand, probably get a a huge raise from the radio side, and continue doing what he loves best/makes him the most money with the least amount of "work" and that is what he is doing right now.

I actually envy him just a little in that he is in such a nice position. Of course if he decides to run more power to him but I see it a a big time mistake. Find something you are good at and exploit it for all you are worth. Just MO though

We're not all touched. Really, life is good for most of us. At least from what I can tell.
I just kinda think there's more bad to come, and a lot of it. Not sure how long it takes, but our debt/deficit, weak dollar, Fed Reserve giving out cheap money, hundreds of trillions in unfunded liabilities, and the crooks in Washington's inability to straighten up the fiscal situation...

A bill is gonna come due, and we can't pay it/them.

You realize this has been going on for a century, right? I agree things need to change but I don't think we're at Doomsday bud.

Vote for Anth, he'll swaddle America!
My swaddle game is on point. Well, we switched to auto-swaddle to allow his hips to develop but before it was on point.

-I don't know if you could pay me enough to be in politics. ZERO interest. Props to the few that actually care about change but I don't see how. Guys like ap.com and belldancer... right there in the middle of the muckfest. No thanks. Props but no thanks.

-Looks like we get average August weather back for the weekend. I will say I'm ready for football and fall but give me one more week of mid-80's and I'll be content.

-Along with my swaddle game, my burger game has taken a step up this summer. Rarely put a ton of effort in burgers but I've refine my technique this summer.

[roll]I just got it. Richard "DICK" Cannon. Like Dick Cannon. LOLL. Great name.

-MKG getting paid. That dude is going to step up soon. Just too good of a dude and works too hard.

-Indy car wreck  What a freak accident. The odds and timing would have to be just perfect. Sad stuff.

Tuesday Shorts and One Rant:

- Boat, you got a boat? Why the hell haven't you mentioned it????

- So, Old Dominion suspended that fraternity for their funny signs taunting fathers bringing their freshmen daughters to college. WTF? Lighten the F up.

- Drake and Serena Williams caught making out at Sotto in Cincinnati. How the hell any man could find that beast attractive is beyond me. And no, I don't give a ish about your opinion on the matter, Mashburned.

- Once again, I urge TV people to check out The Fall on Netflix.

- Caught a Natasha Leggero stand-up special on Comedy Central. That chick just does it for me, especially considering she's 41 years old.

- Still can't get over how lucky we got this year in recruiting. How often does a Top 5 recruit at a position of need come out of nowhere in April of the recruiting year?

- Thoughts on Rece Davis for Chris Fowler on Gameday? Fowler was the best in the business but Davis isn't far behind. Still will take some getting used to.

- Here we are in the midst of PERFECT weather- highs around 75, lows in the high 50s at night- and dumbass Anth is longing for hotter weather. smh

- Just endured the lamest bachelor party I've ever been to this weekend...and it was for my best friend of 31 years. First off, he got a speech from his fiance before he left that she considered seeing strippers as cheating. Few things lamer than women who pull this ****. And because he's a p****, he lets her get by with it.

So, rolled up with my two buddies who had to work Friday and get to Lake Erie at 10pm. We're staying at a 10-man trailer in a big trailer park by the lake. Whatever. Awesome- let's party. Nope. Bachelor wants to get some sleep beings that we have to wake up at 5:30am to go fish. IT'S FISHING. At least stay up until midnight you little *****. We go out on the boat in the morning. It's cool- his old man's there who is a great guy, his two brothers in law, his brother and three buddies. Great day to be on the lake. We catch perch all day and drink beer. Well, I'm cracking a beer 6:30am, Bachelor Boy waits until 10am or so. We fish until 2pm.

After that, it was like pulling teeth to even get him to go out to a bar. We end up at a bar/restaurant on the shores of Lake Erie. It was okay...for the two hours we were there. Did I mention Put-In Bay was a short $7 ferry away? Like, I could see the island. But no, despite his buddies' many suggestions, no Put-In Bay. It was like this big flashing sign "FOR GREAT TIMES, COME HERE," but nope. MFer wouldn't even take a shot with us. Back to the trailer. People start hitting the hay by 11pm.

My buddy isn't some teetotaler. He can party with the best of them. If dude wants to make the trip a fishing trip, fine, awesome, sounds good. And while I think it's a ***** move of his fiance to try to commandeer his bachelor party, whatever- maybe it's not worth the fight and this isn't the first time I've seen a woman pull that ****. But can we at least raise some hell? Do some shots? Get the dude F'd up?

All three of us- his three best buddies for a combined 80 years- were shaking our heads the entire trip home. These dudes are married with kids. They don't get weekends away very often.

Considering most politicians retire with a net worth of 10X+ of what they went into office with then I'd say it is a good move for Mags.
