To me, that quote says they're placing greater emphasis on the University part, but whatever. I maintain the U is more noticeable in the new version, the K looks dumb, and it was change for change's sake.

just about a perfect outcome for us Wildcat friends. they don't look any better than the middlin team they were last season, but still won. if they lost next Sat night would be do or die, they would focus their lives & souls on winning because starting 0-2 would end the year, they would be DUN.
of course it will be nice to see what our team actually looks like, but right now I think we can outscore that pedestrian group of cocks. We have more playmakers and faster skill guys than a Steve Superior team

-50 yard line dinner last night, actually held in the Mezz Club this year, was fun as hell. Highlights:
*First off if you're in those sections you're not going to be disappointed. The club areas are nice as hell. Really well done. Huge bars, high tops, TVs everywhere, group tables, the works.
* Second, draft beer. Domesto Draft Collides. Don't know about you but if I'm drinking at an event, specifically sports, I have to go draft. I hate those plastic bottles. Sweet, sweet draft beer.
*Every section in the place has come miles since I was there 6 weeks ago, except the Loge. I assume it's b/c it's a small area but man that place is going to be a ways off Saturday. They said it will have temporary stations and bars, we'll see. Tried to sneak in last night but got run by construction dudes. It was still buzzing at 8p with a hundred or so guys. It'll get there though. Soon enough.
*The concourses look to lack only cleanup at this point.
*Probably best to avoid the gates 12-13 corner over by Blue Lot and Nutter. Not even sure they'll be open this year.
*Stoops is down 30-40 lbs easy. Dude has a Cal like pep in his step that I haven't seen before. He was giddy last night.
*WWH clan is ridiculous. Like the 73's, they look like the family that comes inside of the picture frame. Gotta be an awesome time.
*G was a hit last night, dude showed out. Stoops did a Heisman like pose with him as the football. Kid was up and alert the whole time, loving it. Bred for this.
*Seat backs and addition of blue to the seats can't be undersold. Looks amazing.
-100% over the logo. Touch it. Leggo. #allin #stoopstroops #yahtzee #BBN
-Vandy, eek. That's a must demoralize game.
-USC, they blow but those flats and misdirections giving me heartburn. The only way they moved the ball, non-fakepunt, and is going to be hell on us. Need Flannigan back for that one. That's a season changer along with UF.

I don't remember him responding to that specific letter, but he did to some others I wrote in 1996 when he was getting fired. I saved this one. Curry's a good man.

As if we didn't have enough to do while unpacking, the wife saw a Kentucky picture painted on barn wood at Local Taco and wanted to make one. So we had some fence pickets from our old house and I made a "canvass" out of them and she drew the state with a few rivers/lakes on it. We hung it over my bar last night. I think it really came out well and now people are wanting her to make one for them. Hell no. I have too many projects to do right now anyway.
Curry was a great guy. Parents still keep up with them.

observation on CFB return last night....mercy, offenses are way behind defenses in week 1. everyone last night struggling to just break 20. All the predictions UL-Auburn will be an entertaining 38-35 shootout might be premature....or us racking up 40+. Gives me hope Va Tech can take down the poisoned nuts in an uglyball rockfight 20-17 game.
