That's why when you were talking about that Thai place not being far I was doubting it. ****, In-n-Out is visible from most casinos and I've still never made it there even though I swear I'm going every time. They don't make it easy for you to leave that area. At all.

I've semi-successfully attempted just staying on eastern time but not with a group. Kind of hard with more than 1 person. Just gotta push through night 1 so you sleep later than 6a. Typically the excitement plus a couple red bulls is enough.

Well, we were going to cab it. I was aware it was off strip, But as each day passed, was more content to stay close to our area.

Also didn't make Downtown, which is my only regret. Stupidly saved it for the last night, post SW. False.

Given what we like to do, think it would be less physically exhausting the 2nd time around, although I understand it's still Vegas. But, we basically saw EVERY single hotel & thing on the strip in 3 days, and walked an average of 11-15 miles per day. Next time I won't feel the urgency to "see" everything as a tourist, and can just enjoy the resort/gambol a little more.

It was awesome though.

My wife wasnt much for Vegas either, which was probably more of my fault. I did basically two things while I was there- blackjack and the sportsbook. And when I ran through my daily amount of money I would watch others at the craps table. But as for shows and night clubs- they can keep all that.

My wife spent time at the pool and shopping which she basically does at any other city.

Hey guys what is everyone wearing Saturday I mean there is a 20 degree temp change from tailgate time until late 2nd half- what do you do here?

^You really are struggling. Go grab a caffeinated beverage man. Misspellings and grammatical mistakes obvious to even me, talking about white chocolate, 30 something babes being too skinny(i'd say that's a really small minority as most need to be careful not to put on that extra 30).

Any and all misspellings and grammatical mistakes are intentional.

The too-skinny take is an astute one. Of course, the other way is more prevalent. I thought that was understood.

White Chocolate Pretzels are terrible.

Milk/Dark Chocolate pretzels are great.

^ Apply this same principle to any treat and you'll be pretty successful.

-Clark, I've always found a few in game bourbons will easily take care of a temperature change of anything 28 degrees or less.

-Yeah, most 30-40 year old dudes aren't thinking, man I hope my wife doesn't get too skinny. I know which type you're talking about, though. No idea what "By the by" means though. Never heard of that expression.

-Yeah, I'd have to assume the wives not liking Vegas is a product of their husbands REALLY liking Vegas and not being 100% in on a romantic get-a-way. I get that but the place is just so versatile. I do understand preferring a beach somewhere quiet. I didn't really enjoy Old Vegas much, I guess it's ok but you gotta knock that out early. The first few trips are too much with trying to hit everything. Just gotta go and hit a few things up. Place is really underrated for a relaxing trip.

The real story will be when Adrian goes on his first "guys" Vegas trip.

Just too much to do there really. Have to pick a few spots and hit them hard, Imo.

Good grief Chad has been awful today.

Favorite Hotels:

Caesars: Just seemed classic to me
Bellagio:
Venetian: Beautiful

Sleeper: Paris. Place seems to get no love, but I thought it was really cool Especially love the casino vibe with the high 'sky' ceilings, just really cool vibe in there.

Cosmo is obviously dope/shiny/beautiful, not quite my style though. Same for Aria. Wynn/Encore were the nicest imo & just sick, but again, I don't think I'd want to stay/gambol there. Feel a bit isolated from the areas I preferred, and I'm not gonna be playing $25 tables for another decade or two.

Mirage actually was the perfect location for what I like to do, as I pretty much worshipped the ****** stretch across the street of Casino Royale/Harrahs/Linq/Flamingo, Etc. 4-5 casinos all pretty much connected, cheap drinks/gambol. And right next door to Caesars, spent a lot of time there.

Sometimes you can't be afraid to be awful to help the thread. My chocolate and too-skinny takes are edgy, unpopular, but they make GYERO better. That's the problem with you, Boat- when you post, you're only thinking about Boat. I'm thinking about everyone when I post.

Going with another couple or a crew, doesn't have to be just dudes, would make a big difference. Peer pressure to make you push on, girls can go do their thing and have fun, boys can go gambol.

SAE has mentioned a few times it takes a trip or two out there to feel "comfortable", and that seemed to apply to me.

Had pretty high anxiety the first few days just taking it all in and trying to decide what to do, which is maybe why I gravitated towards the less-fancy casinos...even then, took me a few hours before I finally threw some money down. Although I'm a pretty ***** casino gambler regardless, hard for me to REALLY enjoy if I'm scared shitless of losing money. With my craps strategy, I'd have a $100-$300 on the table per roll on the higher tables. False.

$5 tables ftw.

-Would love to go with a like-minded couple or two....we wouldn't be able to hang $$$ wise with the Beans/Schems, and have absolutely zero interest in a RAGING "guys" weekend that Pope won't shut up about. DayClubs, Nightclubs, Limos, bottle service, $500 nightly dinner tab, Strip Clubs, etc. No thanks, maybe 15 years ago.

Spent 30 minutes at the pool, and that was 20 minutes too long. Just couldn't relax/enjoy knowing all that was waiting for me out there. :sunglasses: #differentstrokes

I'm sitting outside and can hear the practice music. Mambo Number 5? Is that cool these days? And it rolls into the beginning of Livin La Vida Loca. Luckily they cut that off in favor of Pony.

Not really sure what's edgy about being awful.

Congrats on your fat white chocolate covered bitches.

White chocolate is the Thousand Island Dressing of chocolates.

You can tell a lot about somebody's palate by what kind of chocolate they like.

The pretzel exception for white chocolate was an astute take. Probably the only situation in life where white chocolate is preferable.

You gotta get out there and experiment with your chocolates. Ie: dark chocolate is good, but you damn sure don't want it too dark if you're mixing it with ice cream. There are all kinds of unwritten chocolate rules that you'll never understand till you've experimented with an open palette.

O'Sheas is still there, kinda. They left a small portion with some tables, beer pong, etc.

But the new Linq remodel apparently took most of it.

One of my best friends is a portly bloke who could live on LaBambas if necessary so I learned a long time ago to never put too much stake in what a person likes to eat. Kind of ridiculous what you're insinuating.

Missed this place. Missed all of you guys. And while I wish I could have recovered Blind Karl Hess, it wasn't meant to be. Justin and I are pretty tight, so hopefully I'll get mod privileges soon and bail you guys out if need be.

:ear:

Is the culture changing with UK football? Maybe. I guess from being a non-athlete I have no idea how long it takes to shake habits of losing when losing has been ingrained into your culture for years. One thing I do know is that I'm not used to seeing Kentucky win that Louisiana game after giving up 23 unanswered points or winning that South Carolina game after they cut it to a 2-point conversion. That they're finding ways to not lose these games after years of ripping our hearts out gives me hope that they're moving in the right direction. Next thing Stoops needs to tweak is his halftime speeches.

:fire:

As for Florida, while I don't think we're going to beat them, the phrase I'm seeing a lot in the Twitter discussion of that team is "culture of entitlement", which makes sense. And all the stuff you guys have said about Florida makes sense too. McElwain can't change that in 3 games and he'll be lucky to put a dent in it after a year. And ESPN in the last hour has put out a column on how the wheels for the problems down there got set in motion as far back as 2009.

:bread:

The timing of this is pretty bad, but I don't care because I was gone for 5 months - the basketball team ought to be pretty fun and largely goof-free, huh? Can't stand basketball teams with goofs on them. Can't trust a goof when pressure's on. I'm thinking they drop a couple early on, Isaiah Briscoe figures it out around the same time Marquis Teague did in 2012 and it's off to the races. Brisoce to me looks to be for Cal what Mega Man 2 was for me - Extremely challenging, but incredibly fun and rewarding.

:fries:

If you have to get a new wheelchair for a person, make sure the old one has 6 months left in it. If not, things get bad. Real bad. Like..."can't move" bad. But I'm OK now. Just know that between the old chair, the new chair and the car, I wouldn't wish my last 6 months on any of you except for Gog.

:100points:

Another basketball point that I'm sure has been made numerous times during my absence - Maryland #1? That means the bar is awfully low. I've always liked Mark Turgeon. During one of those horrible final Tubby days where I threatened to run him over with my car I remember extolling the virtues of Mark Turgeon. He hasn't gotten out of the first weekend since, but that's cool. I still think he's good, just a little whiny. Melo Trimble is good. Jake Layman is good. Rasheed Sulaimon and Robert Carter should be impact transfers - at least one of them should. But Jamal Murray abused Melo Trimble so badly in the Pan-Am Games that Team USA coach Mark Few ([eyeroll]) couldn't keep him on the court. And yeah, that's a small sample size, but unless they have just unreal chemistry, I don't see a top team in the country when I look at Maryland.

:raised_hands:

Here's my political take for this year, since I've had such a fun time trying to get the government to help me finance my wheelchair and car additions - anybody already in office who's running this year, get out. You suck. You proved the world that you suck, and it's time for somebody else to get in there and suck.

:pizza:

Louisville's defense is averaging something like 34 ppg in their last 8 games. Clemson covers whatever the spread is tonight, I don't care how much HOF IF NOT WHEN BOBBY has his back against the wall.

[thumb2]

28-24 Florida. I want to be wrong so you can make fun of me. But it hasn't happened since the year I was born. Take time off from this network every now and then. Can't stress enough how important this is. Makes coming back so much more fun. Pretty neat stuff ahead in the future. Congratulations to everybody who had kids. Board it.

^ No stonewashed jeans for Cal? Shocked he could find a tie.

Kinda miffed why all of Cal's former players were dressed better than him at his own effing HOF induction.

I think Cal is looking good. He's kinda tan, looks rested and happy. I'm not a very good judge of male fashion though.

Bern's steakhouse....shew, maybe one of the best dining experiences I've ever had. Place is unreal. 100k bottles, largest private wine collection in the country. Restaurant is gorgeous, menu was like a damn novel.
So was this private collection only offered to the top 96% of patrons?
