-Anyone trying to pin last night's results on one thing(Obama, Kim Davis, ad money, etc.) is just oversimplifying things. It was a perfect storm of things. But I haven't heard a single Democrat even hint at the possibility that Kentuckians may just not align with them policy-wise at this point.
-KET Election Night Coverage during state-wide races is gold. The two anchors do a pretty solid job of giving results and keeping things moving, but the real star is Al Cross. Just a snarky old guy who knows KY political history like no one else, gives accurate reads on the big picture as results start rolling in, and pokes at both parties to get under their skin. He's basically the Paul Finebaum of that deal. Stirs the pot with a smirk on his face. Meanwhile, that Democrat lady(Jennifer Moore) is just abysmal. It was almost sad watching her grasp at straws all night while watching her party go down in flames. Even after media outlets had called it for Bevin, she'd interrupt with "WELL, WE PROBABLY OUGHT TO HOLD OFF, BECAUSE PADUCAH IS ONLY REPORTING 78 PERCENT OF ITS PRECINCTS" or some nonsense. They need to replace her yesterday.
-Gonna be hilarious when the Bengals' first loss comes to Johnny Manziel.
-Like I said a few weeks back, I was intrigued by the small increase in "Giles seriously considering UK" chatter, and thought that if Cal went to see him post-Duke visit, it would mean there might be some fire. Sure enough, happened last night. Would be Cal's biggest recruiting victory to date, all things considered.
