He was proven right just like he was with Tubby though he now worships Calipari who he once called out for cheating.

I am sure I am the only one who ever said anything that hinted on negativity about Calipari while he was at Memphis.

I was wrong then...I will be wrong again. Few have the unblemished record of message board/comment section perfection as wildcat1973

We were in a bad place, UCL.

CBCG gets it. We are going to have to get him his own recruiting plane. The man drinks Dr. Pepper and eats peanut butter crackers. All he cares about is basketball, he's not even worried about signing his contract.

Holy **** were we wrong.

I'm not too proud to admit I was ALL IN during Clyde's first year. Not only did I drink the Kool-Aid, but I was passing around cups to everyone I could find.

I just wanted to win so bad.

I was okay with signing Bud Mackey for God's sake.

Honestly, I would be a terrible AD for a losing program. I'd have us on probation so fast it'd make your head spin.

10 bucks says there are several pimple faced interns locked in a basement mining old GYERO threads to dig up dirt on Mags. Wouldn't be surprised to see some black and white attack ads reenacting "The Slap."

I don't even remember what that poster meant.

I was justifying GJ Villarino, 8th grade white boys and Vinny Zollo.

I learned my lesson, though. I was one of the last to hop off the Tubby train and one of the first to leave the Billy Clyde Express.

Ask 73 about how great Morgan Newton is, though.

8th grade Micheal Effing Avery was drawing comparisons to Kobe Bryant. [laughing]

His recruiting wasn't that bad...at first. Patrick Patterson was pretty big. Darius Miller, Deandre Liggins, Josh Harrelson, Jon Hood, etc. Pretty decent players there.

I think once he realized he was going to get fired he started recruiting a bunch of nonsense just to piss everyone off and go down in a blaze of ****.

Just don't get caught.
Or get caught. Who cares? They don't do anything anymore. We should start sending out Emory envelopes full of cash again. When we get caught we can just squawk about how there's no video footage of Cal actually putting money in the envelope, it was a setup orchestrated by Michigan State, Izzo has an LLC set up and everything. Plus the money was probably going to Harry Giles so he could build a homeless shelter in his community, and they'll give Women's Basketball the death penalty. The end.

Tubby would've coached that group to a Sweet 16.

No Tubby would've never signed those players. AJ Stewart and Michael Porter were the best recruits in Tubby's arsenal at the end. Give me Kevin Galloway and Alex Legion over that nonsense. Mike Williams?

Calling for "new blood" on his show Wednesday morning, Jones had tough words for his party, saying the candidates Democrats have run "don't relate to Kentuckians."

"These folks are not going to win," he said. "They can't keep running these people. They're not going to win."

Jones said Democrats who supported losing gubernatorial candidate Jack Conway had been offering him advice, and that he had a response to those offers.

"You guys are losing every race. Why should I use your advice?" Jones said. "I'm not saying that to be rude, but I was proven correct in this thing."

Meh. I know you are getting a kick out of this, but that's only because you have no idea the alarming upset that had to transpire in order for the dems to lose in the manner they did.Every poll, external and internal, had Conway up at least 5 points, Bevins won by 9. That's a 13 point swing from what the experts thought would transpire.
Every expert was wrong, even people on Bevins team were shocked.
Pundits today are saying this very well be the end of the dem party here in Ky. A party that ruled this state for 100 years.
It's like laughing at someone who didn't think the US could beat the Russians in the Olympic games. They ended up being wrong, but hardly idiots.

Tubby didnt recruit well at the end but he did have Jodie Meeks, Derrick Jasper and was going to get Patrick Patterson. I will give you some names you may have forgotten from the Clyde era

Michael Avery, Dakotah Euton, Vinny Zollo, GJ Vilarino, Konner Tucker, KC Ross-Miller

Tubby's worst group (Bobby Perry, Sheray and Woo) was still probably better than that group....and he also had some Rondo, Crawford, Morris, Bradley, Meeks, Jasper, Tayshaun, Bogans, Stone, etc lumped in.

Clyde had two recruits that even had decent college careers, Darius (who he nearly ran off after one year) and Patterson, who came as much because of Tubby as Clyde

It was time for Tubby to go...he still could coach 50 circles around Gillispie

Pretty sure Tubby would have landed Miller. He was a Tubby type player just on the upper talent range. He would have started on 8 seeded teams and maybe 1 sweet sixteen team not be the 6th man of the National Champion Wildcats.

That's going a bit light on him. Patterson, Miller, and Hood were already significant targets when he arrived. He got Liggins and Harrelson, but he didn't do anything other than **** on their faces while he was here.

The only recruit Clyde signed after he knew he was getting fired was Konner Tucker. There were about 10 turds that he made us all swallow and pretend were filet mignon prior to that.

Yep, I was like

"Guys, he's going to be on court-ordered diversion so he'll be under a lot of supervision and no way he'll mess up again with prison hanging over his head. He was only 18 years old and it was just a tiny bit of crack. How can we not give him a second chance? Jesus would do it. You think you're better than Jesus? You guys want to win or not. WTF is wrong with you all?"
