Nice.

--So, Vegas solo was everything I thought it would be. Nobody to answer to, no "plans" or reservations to work around, eat/drink/gambol/nap when I want. Will do again at some point, no question.

Preferably March Madness...of course, having a few guys would be more ideal for that one -- just wonder if it will ever actually happen. Can't imagine how awesome that would be.

Give us more than that buddy. I want a good rundown. Enjoyed the Snappies. Did you win any $$$? Best parts of the trip? The eats? Funny stories? Come on.

-Ursch sent me a couple old school FAT pics. My response, "At least that Ursch was fun." True MF Story.

-So proud of WCC. All grown up. Shaved the head, in a serious relationship making sacrifices, only a matter of time before he gets in the credit card game b/c they want to travel a bunch, picks up wine as a hobby, buys a goldendoddle, gets a pair of loafers and drops the cons.

Our boys are growing up.

Anxiously awaited the BBdK Vegas randos and that's it?

Vegas in March > Any other time you could possibly go. Flights are damn expensive to pull it off but I am sure with all the credit card promos you guys could probably get paid to go out there.

Meh, it sucks flying back Saturday and essentially missing the entire day of hoops. I was 35,000 feet above the ground when UK/Cinci tipped last year and pretty much missed the entire game. Flight prices make it almost impossible to return on Sunday.

I am considering doing the Wed-Mon this year. That's a hella long time to be in Vegas but would pretty dope to be there through the first two rounds and miss zero coverage.

I bet Scott Holsopple could whip these guys into shape, just like he has the KU Jayhawks.
Still LMAO at Holsopple living in my townhouse complex when I moved back to Lex. I couldn't lift my brand new HDTV up to the shelf, so I just knocked on his door and asked him to help me. I had never met him and I believe I only knew he lived a few doors down because someone on here (80 maybe?) knew where I was moving to and looked up the PVA and saw his name on the street. Or maybe I looked it up. Either way, it still makes me laugh.

-Speaking of Vegas -> UK/Vandy o/u at 39 now. It's actually gone up. So tempting to put more down.

That puts you there for 6 days. Wednesday-Monday. Way too much for Vegas and expensive as ****. Especially for something like that with your peeps starting the booze at 9am. Fly out Wednesday, catch red eye home Friday or Sat and recover on the couch Sunday. While it's fun as hell, 2 full days in a sports book is PLENTY.

It's a lot of fun. We spent most of our time in the Bellagio conference room that they set up with huge monitors and table games around the periphery. Top shelf broads selling $2 draft domestos everywhere. Free to bust heaters with abandonment. Virtually every notable fan base represented in one room which led to great entertainment/smack.

Just awesome, really.

Touch that. If you're going to do it, go NCAAT. I've been twice. 3rd day on the 2nd trip we got a cabana with a flat screen and stocked fridge. Sat in the Wynn pool and watched games all day. Laid in the day beds. One year we just have to miss the 1st Rd and go. It'll come in a few years when Cal is gone.

SECT is the annual crew gathering. Needs to stay that way.

My favorite was either Caesars or Venetian. Caesars turned that huge area outside the sports book into a massive extended book. Temp bars, temp tables, it was outstanding. Watching the Duke upset was one of my top sports moments not in a sporting venue. Place went bananas.

Personally think 99.9 % of Erik Korem's HIGH PERFORMANCE deal is a total crock of ****.

Every school in the SEC has adequate to state of the art weight training facilities and a S&C coach. Is Korem any better than Bama's S&C Coach? How about LSU? When we had solid years in 06 & 07 who in the touch was our S & C coach? Did we run advanced metrics on what Woodson, Woodyard and Tamme were eating? NO. They were tough, skilled players who were well coached.
Rack this post. It's smoke and mirrors. Our best recruiting classes ever are running out of gas in the 2nd half of the season. If it's so awesome, that would not be happening.

Depth has more to do with running out of gas than quality of the class. A 5* freshman is going to be exhausted faster than a 2* freshman if the 5* is playing every snap while the 2* is used sparingly. Don't really have much of an opinion on the program, but the quality of recruits really doesn't affect depth or exhaustion. Soft tissue injuries have been down for the most part, so that is at least one thing going for it

- I love JRow's recruiting takes and dedication to getting scoops, but his long posts/articles are ridiculous. This latest "conversation" thing is a damn rambling fever dream

Solo in Vegas Randoms: (WATTBA)

-Friday: Touched down around 2pm local time...Lyft (recently approved at McCarron) to my hotel. Stayed at the newly remodeled Linq, which is a Ceasar's property essentially smack dab in my preferred area of the Strip: Sandwiched in between Royale/Harrah & Flamingo, and directly across from Ceasar's & Mirage. Sparkling new/clean, modern, and trendy. Rooms smallish..wouldn't stay there with the wife, but it was perfect for me on this trip. Cheap rooms, young energetic crowd.

...stupidly had anxiety about being able to watch the silly UK exhibition -- assumed it wouldn't be on anywhere since there is no line attached, and was correct. So after a brief walk-around, retreated back to my room to watch the 1st half while unpacking & getting settled in. Then, it was out the door.

The "natural high" the first evening in Vegas is pretty much unmatched. Took awhile for it to "sink in" that I was there with 4 days ahead of me to do whatever I wanted...actutally gave me extreme anxiety, which I couldn't figure out, but whatever.

Finally hit a $10 craps table at Harrah's, bought in for $100, and proceeded to roll for about 35 minutes...by far the best roll of my life. Won around $400 + several tokes from my buddies who aren't betting pussies, and won well into 4 figures off of me. Amazing start to the trip -- but I knew it wouldn't last. I swear Casinos/Tracks have a built in 6th sense that allows you to win at first....this happens at about a 90% clip with me. Spent the rest of the night just walking around and soaking it all in.

Saturday; Cats kicked off at 9am, so after an Egg McMuffin, went across the street to Mirage Sportsbook, which is my favorite on the strip. So much free comfortable seating, unlike most where you have to 'buy' a prime spot. They have that as well, but I've always found a great spot. Settled in on my own couch, loaded up my table with parlay/teaser cards, and got to work --- Basically posted up here all day, was glorious. Free drink tickets with every bet as well, which I don't believe is standard in most books any longer.

...evening nap before heading down to Paris where I put $100 on Red and doubled my money. Hopped in Gordon Ramsay Steak for some Waygu Sliders & Cocktail -- then it was back to the SportsBook for LSU/Bama & the other games...while texting ABH/Anth. Got absolutely hosed on Sparty, which ruined another potentially huge night. Hit the tables on the way back with no luck. Pretty much the perfect Vegas day.

Sunday: Started out with breakfast at Bouchon, Thomas Keller's French bistro in the Venetian. Put this on your list -- absolutely incredible. From there it was back to the Sportsbook for my NFL card for the day -- kept my daily routine of Sportsbook/Gambol going...got absolutely crushed in every NFL game. O-fer.

...early dinner at Giada, newer spot atop The Cromwell with Fountain Views. Lobster Ravioli & an Old Fashoined, and then it was off to Fremont St. o_O

...not where I'd want to stay, but it was an awesome time -- most definitely worthy of a few hours after you've been on the strip for a few days. Love being able to walk in 20 casinos all basically connected and concentrated to a few blocks. No cars, no streets to cross, etc....cheap drinks, cheap tables. Settled in at Binions and had a nice run....$200+. The one night I got actually hammered...ended up drunk zip-lining with a few guys I met at the table all the way down Fremont. lol. Lyft home.

Monday: My 4th day in town...woke up realizing I'd been a bit ambitious in adding on Friday, and was searching for early flights home. The worst part was that there was no sports action (til MNF). Anth talked me out of it and convinced me the extra day could actually be used to rest/relax, and be fresh upon arriving home -- took his advice, and he was right. Hour massage at the hotel spa was amazing. Resort Spas are so nice/sick, really underrated...even if you don't get a massage, you can usually use the facilities, which are usually amazing. Post-spa, my host convinced me to sit in some Himalayan Salt cave for another hour...I did. 2:30 later I walked out of the Spa feeling like a million bucks

...headed over to Ceasars and dropped in Joe's Stone Crab for a nice Filet/Crab lunch w/ a Mule. Nap time. Light gambol that afternoon, before dinner at Michael Mina @ Bellagio....which was an incredible finish.

Only mistake was instead of going to bed as planned, I decided on one last hour at the tables -- and completely lost my ***. You simply cannot gambol if you aren't feeling the "vibe" or really into it. You'll never win. Just stupid.

...that's it. Don't have any crazy stories, other than just the endless weird/funny **** you encounter there pretty much 24/7. Really, it was just 4 days of all day Sports Gambol, Casinos, good drinks, good eats -- all on my own time. Mirage/Caesars were where I spent most of my time, but gamboled pretty much everywhere for at least 30 minutes: Harrahs, Royale, Wynn, Cosmo, Paris, Cromwell, Aria, Venetian, MGM, & Bellagio.

Was in bed by 10:30 (vegas time) every single night & pretty well behaved. It was a just a nice little getaway in a place filled with most of my favorite things...not sure how it could have gone any better, really. Well, maybe I could have won money, but that's never my expectation at the casino. Despite 2 big nights, still ended up down $300 or so overall -- money well spent.:100points:

Love it out there.

-Fox has been at 100% UK crystal ball for like a month. He's announcing on ESPU on a Thursday. We good.

-I was mocking the turds blaming Korem. If you think he is the problem or solution your an idiot. The reason we're wearing down is because we are young and thin. An injury like Lewis/Hatcher is crushing. Staff hasn't had time to redshirt and build quality depth.

-Vegas is just amazing and yes the only thing in my life that compares to the initial rush is SECT. Place is just so versatile. Want to party like the world is ending? Easy. Want to eat the best meal of your life? Done. Want to gambol on live events? See an amazing show? Shoot a bazooka? Get married by Elvis? Gotcha. Relax and get some sleep or spa on? Easy enough. Some of my best times there have been low key as hell. Typically by day 4 I'm hiding from the Beans and laying in the room watching TV ordering room service. Coming back in disarray after 4 or more days is rook move.

-I'd say the beef with the Korem stuff is the guys being tracked 24/7. Sleep, diet, exercise. Probably annoying for a 18 year old. Who cares, it has nothing to do with us getting our **** pushed the last 3 weeks.

Never realized how undervalued a CAT PAW membership is until my non CAT PAW member lunch buddy drops " Fox to UK. Done deal per a close source"

"Thanks for the info"

I'd say Korem is tracking them and showing some aren't putting in the effort some think they are and they're getting their asses pushed. This isn't high school, boys. You don't get to slack. That said, S&C isn't the issue. The issue is a coaching staff that is learning on the fly and this whole BS at QB.

Good call -- walking in to the bar on that Thursday night when everyone is getting in town is [smoke] -- and the same feeling again Friday morning when everyone settles into our daily spot for the afternoon. Then, by Sunday (or even Saturday night post-game these days) it's  ...pretty similar progression of a trip with those two.

Can't recall that last time a bigtime recruit was considered such a no-drama lock to UK. James Young maybe? This is a kid who may be the 2nd best player in a LOADED class and UK Fan hasn't broken a sweat about it.

sad really to see this happen to Stoops. so many times in college & pro FBall the puzzle of figuring out who is your QB, when to play them, when to pull them & try the next guy just ruins a head coach's tenure. I feel for the hothead ginger, he's a defensive guy and I'm sure he looks at Towles and sees a guy who has all you want, size, arm talent, good non trouble-making kid. Just can't bare to be wrong & bench his "franchise" QB and start all over with Barker, feels that finally any game now Towles will come around and be who he ought to be.

And this frigging problem AINT GOING AWAY, come Spring here comes the QB competition between Towles & Barker again, who looks great, who's got the edge, who's starting the Blue-White game?!?! friggin puke

Fox is sick.

...was watching some Lonzo Ball tapes last night after Meyer called him the "most uniquely talented guy I've scouted". He's definitely got a unique style, kid is a STUD.

There's an uproar on LSU's campus because a girl tweeted out that she saw a noose hanging from a tree and that she shouldn't have to see that walking to class.

Turns out it was a downed power line........

2003 Kentucky-Vandy game. An underrated lowlight in my UK football fandom. The depth of hopelessness that afternoon in the bowels of Vanderbilt Stadium was uncharted territory for the 21 year old Finance major.
