Don't worry guys...Ulis has got this. Best leader in UK Basketball history and easily my favorite CAT ever!!!

Only '73 would have this take, of ALL the things on this team to ***** about, his theme this year is going to be mocking Ulis being a great leader. [roll]

Congrats on arguably the biggest Dbag 'side' to take in GYERO History.

What a pass.

...damn I love Briscoe. Don't mind the heat check either, but [laughing] "that was brick city USAAAAAAA" -Vitale.

lol, that's being generous...that ball hit the top corner of the backboard then grazed the rim on the way back, wide open from the Top of the Key. :scream:

poor kid. Will never understand how a kid (guard) can dedicate their life to basketball 24/7 for 18 years and still be a worse shooter than Andre Riddick.

Not sure why Mulder gets no play. Seemed aggressive rebounding and we know he can shoot it. Not saying he is the savior obviously, but he as a true scoring guard he COULD provide balance at the guard spot that our 3 point guards are struggling with.

Also, as bad as we struggle wouldn't benefit us to use the press all game to get quick easy buckets and boost confidence every game? Seems obvious with the style of players we have.

Hope John keeps Skal on the bench the rest of the game and let's these goose eggs for stats stand. What an embarrassing effort from him.

John is coach on the Mulder question. More press and more zone would be beneficial.

Pretty good 2nd half so far...a tad ugly, but amazing what a few shots dropping will do.

Like I said, it doesn't take many, a FEW will go a long *** way with this team, as we're seeing here. It energizes the defense and every other aspect of the game/team,..

-Skal isn't even an actual part of our 'REAL' team if we're being honest. Pretty crazy

-Whoever made the James Young/Jamal Murray analogy with regards to a few mind boggling passes/gifts to the other team each game = nailed it.

This Lee-Willis-Ulis-Murray-Briscoe five looks pretty good together. Bald Willis as an additional shooting threat helps to open things up.

Maybe Skal never got word that he is actually eligible to play...

Nice half, I'm decently impressed.

A few shots went down, locked up on D, nice run by Willis. We're too talented to keep playing like total ****.

Impressive half against a good team. Uglied it up, but actually MADE some shots...and alas, we blow it open when that happens.

Doesn't take much guys, way to go!!!

Shew. I was starting to really worry in the first half. Like BBDK said, it's a wonder what a few shots dropping can do. Changes everything. Guys are doing everything with confidence right now. Adrian is smart, you guys should listen to him more.

Ok what do you see? We recruited him as a shooter so we know he can do that. He played defense and he was noticeably aggressive rebounding the ball. 2/3 for Cal to play you here and the shooting is the cherry on top.

Currently our 3 PGs seem to get in each other's way a lot on drives causing too much congestion and confusion as to when to drive, dish or shoot.

It's not fluid, but it is our strength and with that means we can afford to press and be confident we got players that, even if the pace speeds up, can make good decisions quickly.

So this team doesnt yet have players that will enter the NBA as top 5 at their position almost immediately?

Lol K Dickie V. What we have done to college basketball is quite amazing.

Making some jump shots goes a long way. Briscoe's 3 seemed to break the lid on the basket. His heat check that may as well hit the shot clock tho. [laughing]

Credit to UCL...when Willis is in there at 4, seems to open things up for our guards because they have to at least respect him.

The problem is that Willis and Skal can't play together, give up too much D and rebounding. You have to either go Lee or Alex. Like it or not, I think Cal is going to have to play Willis this year to free up our offense against these zones.

Just a little credit to Lee, dude is battling and finishing well...seems like a likable kid. And his little quick swipe blocks are pretty effective, we seems to come up with quite a few of them.

Skal, oh my...if we are being honest here, we are better off with Humphries getting his minutes (or just playing Lee/Alex at 5) at this point. Starting to feel bad for him, his confidence is shot to hell. You know Cal is going to continue to play him and work on his development and that should happen, he's not a lost cause by any means. However, might be time to start Lee and let the kid come off the bench, take some pressure off of him.

How many of Ulis' threes hit back iron? 70%?

Bottom line, if the Ulis/Murray combo ever gets rolling shooting wise, we are as dangerous as any other team out there...even if Skal is still a no show.

Very underrated is a good Big 12. Having teams like Iowa State, Texas, Baylor, Oklahoma and WVU to challenge Kansas makes basketball better.

^Shew, man. I don't know how much the opponent and what they were doing had to do with it, but that lineup looked fantastic. And not to knock 22. He had a heck of a game too. But the spacing when these guys were in was top notch. Really something.

Cal maybe should quit yelling at Skal like a small dog and try to teach him stuff instead, since probably 95% of his issues are awareness-related. Dude looks like he would rather drop dead than play right now.

Glad Murray got to play through mistakes. Paid off in the long run to see him shoot the jumper with confidence.

Ohio State stinks. How did that happen so fast? Should be an interesting game.

Only a dipshit like yourself would think that I'm mocking Ulis being a leader.

Ummmm, I'm mocking YOUR hype game. Nothing more, nothing less. Ulis is a really good player, and I enjoy watching him play.

Until Skal shows even the slightest bit of indication that he wants to contribute, he needs to sit. If nothing else the guy should at least look like he's giving max effort.

Bottom line is right now he is complete garbage. He shouldn't sniff the starting lineup until he gets at least 7 rebounds in a game.

It wasn't me who said it, but I agreed.

He's probably the best pure leader Cal's had, and his coach would tell you the same thing. Not sure what's "hype" about that?

It's true. MKG doesn't disagree.

To Skal's credit, I don't think it's an issue of effort, I think he's just scared shitless and you look slow and disinterested when you're that terrified. Everything you do is hesitant. You're late with every move. It's frustrating to watch. But I'm sure this transition is difficult for him. He's just gotta put everything he has into his practice time and stay in the gym constantly. He's also got to stay in these games getting his *** beat up. That's the only thing that's gonna help him. In the mean time the fans (myself included.) Need to not turn on him. Just chalk it up as a future investment. Hopefully. There's not gonna be a switch that gets flipped here. Just time, effort and *** beatings. We're gonna watch him play a lot of ****** basketball before we see the real Skal.

We ran a play for Skal early, got him a great look on the left side of the lane, he made a quick, decisive move before the double could get there- basically did exactly the right things and missed badly. He looked like dog **** the rest of the game.

^ well, heading into last night he was .1 from leading our team in scoring through 6 games.

Stop being stupid. He's a finesse/skilled big man learning the college game and how to play against men. Again, he won't be Towns/Davis...but you people have short memories to how those two looked early on. (struggled pretty badly).

Well said.

There was a time that the BBN wanted to sit Teague in December and January and run Doron at the point. Calipari stuck with Teague and it came around.

Skal is rough to watch right now but is an exceptional talent. It will be ugly to watch his development, but he could have the most potential of any player in college basketball. But right now, the space between his elevator and his ceiling is pretty damn wide.
