Holiday Takes...

- Absolutely love this time of year & the week between Christmas and NYE. Work is slow, can get organized in the office and around the house, and take some time off to get charged up for 2016.

- Last night I caught some bowl action for the first time this bowl season. LSU's speed on D & closure is alarming. With Fournette coming back & with that D they will have to be preseason Top 5 right? So much if it depends on their schedule.

- Go Aggies!

- Wife's cousin is getting married on NYE in the Boro. Actually looking forward to it. Should be a fun wedding and it'll be something fun to do on NYE for a change.

A great band will be playing.. Super Tyrone Smith Revue from Nashville. Brother comes out dressed as Superman for a set bouncing around the crowd belting out Motown classics.

My sister gave these dress slippers to me for Christmas and I'm rocking them tomorrow night...

Think Richie's sister was trying for the Prince Albert slipper, which is pretty close to women's shoes. Not sure I could do it but it's a cocksman's look, for sure.

I've educated myself on the art of formal wear, Casey. In fact, unless the wedding is in Richie's home or at a private club where he belongs, *technically* it's considered incorrect to wear the Prince Albert slipper.

That game is awesome. Kids played it last night fighting each other with light sabers. I got on after they went to bed and was all chomp chomp in an X-Wing smoking fools in stupid *** tie-fighters. I've never liked shooter games/online games but this one is pretty damn dope as hell.

-Kid found out about Santa WHILE we were opening gifts. She opened a "Santa" gift from us, and the dang receipt was inside. Wife about lost it, thinking she'd messed up the whole thing. Turns out, that's not how she found out. She found out because I asked her to get something out of the backseat of the car a week back, and she opened the trunk instead. Oops.

So the dam broke on Christmas morning....Santa, Easter Bunny, Elf on the Shelf, Tooth Fairy, all of it. Took her about a day to get over it, but now she's ALL IN1 on helping keep the magic alive for her sister. Still, it was sad knowing that she's aging out of kid stuff now.

-Got a lot of "family" gifts this year, so not much for me individually. Always nice to blow a gift card at Barnes & Noble, though.

-Speaking of books, currently reading "Boys Will Be Boys" by Jeff Pearlman, about the Dallas Cowboys of the late 80's/early 90's. Pearlman is great, and the personalities on those teams were tailor-made for a tell-all.

-Finally got around to watching that "Bible Bowl" special. Goodness gracious that was brutal. I openly cheered when that brother/sister got beat. Then someone on Twitter saw my comment about it and said they looked worse because of the editing. False, padre.

Absolutely. Not sure who would have a problem or disagree with that. I'm an iconoclast, Wodie. I eat ethnic food, I often vote third party, and I support my brothers and sisters of color. You're just gonna have to deal with it.

I keep my social media from inbreeding with each other though. Ooh, I will be posting some pics of my lunch on instagram later though. I'd tell you what it's going to be, but I want the pop when I post it. Really gonna see if I can blow everyone's minds. Be on the lookout.

Yeah, I blew it. Still, I'm glad it wasn't my wife's fault. For the hour or so after that whole "receipt in the package" thing, she was on the verge of tears. I'm glad it ended up being my carelessness that caused it. Also glad that it was us who got to tell her, instead of her learning about it on the playground at school or something like that.

Tough conversation, but brought us closer as a family, etc. So suck it, Clark.

Funny how that worked out. They end up in an actual conference and they're going to the same bowls we used to go to. Kinda like West Virginia in the Big 12. So different to have to play a competitive game ten weeks a year as opposed to two competitive games weeks apart.

Lemond is bad enough, throw Cutler in with him and it's unbearable. I get that people like Lemond's sidecar act, but it grates on my last nerve. If I turn into any of the other local shows and he's guest hosting, I turn it off. Quit being a slapstick and actually add value instead of sounding like a teenage boy who has played sports in the back yard.
