I get that people like Lemond's sidecar act, but it grates on my last nerve.

Yup. Especially all that p-whipped nonsense.

I absolutely understand why Jones has him, but the show was a lot better when Jones rotated through co-hosts like Mike Pratt, etc.

There are good and bad parts to having Billy Joe Wildcat around.

Cal went and watched Fox and Bam last night. Adebayo posted 28 points and 11 rebounds in a 92-65 victory over Trinity Christian (N.C.) while Fox recorded 35 points and 12 rebounds in a 91-81 win against Robinson (N.C.)

those suede slipper prince albert things are awful. yet, at the same time, that's kind of the point of overpriced, high end designer fashion. if anyone can pull that off, it's richie. they'll look ridiculously fantastic.

kingllama -- everything by jeff pearlman is awesome. he's aced the tell all expose book motif. at the end, when he's thanking all the typical parties, he gives a shoutout to the gals at panera. that's pretty cool. sounds like he just posted up at panera, slugged down bottomless coffees, and pounded out that book. good life.

The video of that event touting it as a Fox/Bam highlight video posted on KSR was crap. It was 4 minutes long featured 4 other players before those 2 and they got a lot less time in the mix as any of the other 4. But Adebayo handling the ball in traffic was pretty damn impressive.

pti....."Bad Guys Won" is next on my list. I'm weird in that I like reading sports books during the season when that sport is actually being played. Wouldn't read this Cowboys book on summer vacation, but it's nearing NFL playoff time, so made sense to grab this one off my shelf.

Really enjoy DeCourcy on the radio. He's on 680 every Tuesday on my way home from work. Very insightful, gives Cal a ton of credit and calls out a lot of the bs crap against him.

Even enjoy some of his columns.

That being said he has some absurd takes on the tweet machine and won't back down/digs in.

Can Bam join in January?

UKMemphis is currently asking the experts on the national board and will report back with what he hears.

* In the long-term, is it clear that Skal has more potential than Humphries? I think it is arguable. Right now, neither is any good. Skal is probably taller and will fill into his body. Humphries is going to be bulkier and more skilled across the board.

Calipari is awesome but it can be infuriating when he plays to the headlines rather than the facts.

Why would he play Skal over Humphries against Louisville? The Cards have a huge, slow frontline. If Cal wanted to insist on countering their size, playing Humphries and getting the kid some spot minutes might have been the better option.

* This year I actually implemented my strategy of simply asking everyone for basic consumer goods that I hate having to actually shop for.

I received what appears to be a year's supply of toothbrushes, dress socks, and undershirts.

So, so pumped.

This is an unbelievably bad take.

There are only a handful of people on this planet that are 6'11" with that kind of fluid athleticism and face-up game. Humphries has decent upside but get real, man. You're obviously blinded by poor (or lack thereof) production and associate that with skill-set/upside/potential. They are two completely different things and you muddy them up because you don't know the difference and want to come off like you're a smart college basketball.

Stick to being cute and refrain from the basketball takes going forward - TIA.

Still can't get over Lemond's wife. o_O at that combo...

She kinda look like a cave woman, imo.

Humphries is *light years* ahead of Skal and I'm sick and tired of people dismissing him. He knows basketball, understands positioning, blocking out, and what his role is on the court. It will take Skal years to learn basketball. I'm not even sure his physical tools are good. His hands are *awful*. He's not quick...part of that has to do with the fact that he has no idea what to do on the court so he's constantly looking around and not ever expecting to get the ball...He's just a total lost puppy and I'm sick of tired of seeing his face, tbh.

Pretty much.

It's abundantly clear Skal is not ready NOW, and will take awhile...but pretty funny to see people write he (and his potential) off almost completely now that he's struggled in his first 10 games of REAL basketball.

It's normal for big men to take longer to develop. Cousins, Davis, Towns -----> that's NOT normal.

"Fluid athleticism"...lol

Dude can't catch the ball on the run. Can't dribble into position. He has shown no evidence of fluid athleticism...he just looks like somebody who should have it...and he might, lord you would assume he would eventually, but right now he looks like a teenager who grew 2 feet overnight and some coach told him he had to play basketball so he put up a hoop over his garage to signify the start of his hoops journey. Poor kid.

Team Humphries as far as UK winning basketball games (which is still relevant, I think). DRAFT CATS guy disagrees, I'm sure, and he's right. Skal has more pro potential, clearly.

SMH, faggots.

Again, lack of confidence and zero understanding of spacing/positioning will make anyone look like ****. Skal is not a good basketball player currently... no one disputes this. He has a long wayyy to go before he taps into the hype. The Aussie probably will help us win more games right now than Skal, too. Don't think many will dispute that either.

But there are signs; the putback dunk attempt against UL.... you think Izak had it in his wildest dreams to even effort pulling off something like that? That's the kind of thing scouts see (and saw in AAU) that oozes tremendous upside potential /hubiebrown

Last time I'll weigh in on such a stupid effing take. Grief.

Skal is certainly the better athlete, of course, and the smart bet long-term would be on him. But there is huge bust potential there, as well. Humphries is probably going to end up as a guy who gets a cup of coffee in the NBA if he's lucky and then plays overseas.

But the point is that Calipari is going to force Skal into any possible rotation in order to serve the marketing aspects of the program and try to get the kid drafted as high as possible, even if right now Humphries was the better fit against Louisville.

Elite big prospects start slow, that isn't news, but it would be pretty startling to see Skal make the leap to being elite by March. We shall see, I guess, but this is not an Anthony Davis or Karl Towns situation.

im not even arguing who will eventually be better. ill leave that to the experts around here. but humphries hasn't even played in 6 of the last 9 games. so how in the hell can anyone speak so intelligently about his ability? do you sneak into practice??

that's ridiculously stupid.

Is Humphries hurt? I know he had something with his foot earlier in the year.

nope. feels great. dude has been eating up the competition all season, and is the driving force on the team. he's our key to #9. his play reminds me of hakeem, with a better outside shot.

I think it has more to do with his inability to guard right now, he'd get eaten alive on defending screens and backdoor cuts. Like Harrellson, once he learns angles and understands what is asked of him I see no reason he can't be the same good defender that jorts was.

Sometimes you just need a chance and Jorts would probably have never had that chance had Kanter been eligible. Once John gives extended minutes to guys who are not 5 stars and have all the hoopla, he usually figures out they can ball as well. We may now see way more of Hawkins going forward because of Briscoe's injury and proving himself against a rival in a big game. Hard to prove yourself in bits and pieces and the last 4 minutes of games.

- Anyone had Angel's Envy? Got it for Christmas. Can also make a mean Old Fashioned now right down to the overly expensive cherries, bitters and orange peels. Can't wait to share with BBdK one of these days.

- My lack of Twitter viewing has kept DeCourcy in my good graces.

- Dauster's podcast is easily my favorite CBB listen.

- Skal sucks. I wouldn't draft him 51st let alone Top 10!

Regards,

Drummond and DeAndre Jordan's freshman stats

- Been visiting the Louisville board all week for the laughs.

- NYE plans- watch the games, drink, eat whatever the lass cooks and roll down to a bar a block from her house. Perfect.

- Those loafers will go great with your neutral blue sweater. At least now people will know you're a UK fan, Rich.

- Can't wait for Ulis and Murray to get on the same page. I think we're scary come March.

It's all confidence right now with Skal on offense. He's never going to be a banger and I don't know how good of a rebounder he will be this year but his offensive issues are pure confidence.

The skillset is there. Early on that jump up & mid range face up jumper were things of beauty. It's between the ears.

IF ONLY THAT ONE HANDED TIP DUNK ON SATURDAY WOULD'VE GONE THROUGH.
