dude, you say that like its a good thing. i like harrelson and all, but i hope you realize he's barely sniffed the nba, whereas kanter is a legit player who's averaged 10 and 7 for his career.

and i like hawkins as well, but get real. he's played in plenty of games, has 1 breakout pull it out of his *** performance, and now he's read to supplant briscoe??

The only time I enjoyed Cutler was when he guest hosted in 2012 after the title. Mags took a week off and Cutler
was running the show for a day and I don't think he really understood the show from an unintentional humor standpoint.

The Truth called in jabbering nonsense and Cutler had no time for it and became angrier and angrier and started screaming at poor Truth. Dude had to cool down and take a break.

It's fun to rip Hank on his Skal take because the "smart fan's" position is that he'll come around. But you're all lying if you don't watch him play and think maybe he just doesn't have "it". It happens...I love Alex but we are all just now coming to accept who he is.

Regardless, I don't mind tossing him minutes even if it hurts us right now. One, because if it does click with him it transforms this team from fringe to major title contender. And, two, I want to see the kid show enough to go first round...he probably needs it more than anyone we've seen here since Bledsoe.

Well said. Deserved repeating. I get pissed at Cal's sub patterns quite a bit, but this is spot on.

The Birmingham Bowl. Jesus. One of the worst UK days ever was watching them lose in that stupid game, then watched the basketball team get beat by some scrub team later in the afternoon. Whole place was a circus. Nobody even working the gate after the 1st Quarter so you could walk right on in like it was some kind of pop-warner game. Pretty sure you could sit anywhere you wanted too. I chose to stand on the track around the field like I do at high school games.

Legion Field is just a scary place. Recall giving a guy a $20 spot to park in his front yard, only to come back after the game to see a tow truck removing cars (was able to get mine out before it got hooked up). Of course it wasnt even that guys front yard- the real owner was pretty upset as she returned home and her entire lot was full of cars. Dude was just pulling cash off of people- directing them into a spot in the yard like it was his own. Ive heard similar stories on Derby Day parking.

Skal did play pretty solid defense on a couple of trips. Also, he wasn't trying to block everything, and didn't run into any of his teammates either I don't think.

Chad.. Don't forget Kanter was declared permanently ineligible by the NCAA on that Friday, the day before the bowl game and loss at Georgia.

Think UL also won on that weekend. Redass superfecta.

Trying to explain to my buddy how I "knew" you and WS was just as awkward. I really blew his mind when I told him how you two met.

So I know a guy who just bought season tickets and they are right behind the visitor's bench (cost him $500K by the way) and I got a couple of decent stories from Saturday.

On the final play he could see what Rick was drawing up, heard Lee demand the ball, Rick erased the initial play then drew something up for Lee coming off a corner screen. When the huddle broke, my friend yells at the UK players "Watch the corners!!!" Rick glares at him then berates two of the assistants for not blocking him from seeing the play. Not saying that had anything to do with anything just loved hearing Rick's reaction.

Second thing was a player on the bench was trying to talk junk to Ulis, Ulis said something back to him to the effect of "I'm not listening to a ***** that's not even in the game". Then continued to mouth ***** to the guy the rest of the game. He didn't know the player though.

Saw the genius that was David Hobbs sitting near press row on Saturday and wondered what he was doing now.

He's a scout for the Jazz.

Now there's a gig. Travel the country watching the best college players, all expense paid for traveling accommodations, eat an agreeable meal along your stops on the company dime while networking with other bball personalities, adequate time off.

Compile some notes and email them over to your front office. Call it a day/night.

Yeah and kids like Skal (in his current mode) have been getting execs fired for years.

Look, people are coming to his defense because he's a likeable kid with a good back story and that scout got personal and took it too far.

But, I'll be willing to bet my internet friends that if Skal keeps putting up performances like his last 5 or so games, his stock will drop out of the lottery...possibly out of the first round.

It only takes 1-2 good games for a scout/team to fall in love with his "potential" (which many already are), I'd certainly bet he'll have a few that will showcase his talents.

Hell, guys like Biyombo (7th) & Kanter (3rd) got drafted off of ONE game...in High School.



...and it's not like they just started scouting him in a Kentucky uniform.

Who are all these other people that could push him out of the 1st round? Lol. Learn NBA Draft.

i guess josh harrelson is officially that guy whose legend grows and grows over time. gets better the further were removed from his playing days. he was a complete nobody, became a serviceable big man, had like 3 really good games, and eventually turned into a 2nd round pick. and that was at 22, as a senior. skal is 19.

kinda tells you everything you need to know about how the nba values 7 footers.

can you imagine skal sticking around 3 more years? ill bet by 2019 he can even average 6 & 8!!!

Werent most of his mix-tapes basically showing a kid taking 3's or long jumpers with an occasional post move? Some of those showcase games he played against good talent and did well but i dont remember him being a standout.

He dominated in the Hoop Summit practices, mostly guarded by Thon Maker.

Skal Labissiere is one of the bigger names in attendance here, and nothing about him has disappointed to this juncture. At 7-foot tall in shoes with a 7-1.5 wingspan, he has the size to play the center position in the NBA, and his body is continuing to put on weight, which is a good sign. However, the measurements aren't the most impressive part of Labissiere. It's his play. The Kentucky recruit basically dominated from the beginning to the end of practice on Tuesday, outplaying another potential 2016 top-10 pick in Thon Maker by a considerable margin in their matchup. His fluid athleticism is readily apparent at every turn, whether it be on defense where he contested just about every single Maker shot on the perimeter, or on offense where he was terrific in the pick-and-roll and pick-and-pop, as he has terrific instinctual awareness of where to find the soft spot in the defense. He already has an incredibly soft touch, and his range seems to have increased out to the college 3-point line (he attempted a couple of NBA level 3s, but they didn't look as comfortable mechanically). He was the best player on the floor Tuesday, and I was told it was a similar story on Monday by others.

^ and that's an Elite skill for a young 7 footer who's barely even begun playing basketball.

NBA drafts projects all the time, ESPECIALLY big men that have an elite skill, as he does. There aren't more than a handful of 7 footers on this planet that can shoot like he can at that size.

You think they wouldn't rather draft & stash Skal rather than taking Kennedy Meeks (or whoever?)

That's what they do with Euro/Foreign guys every single year...which is basically what he is. He will 'wow' plenty of teams in his workouts with his skills -- just like countless NON-NBA ready projects before him.
