Three pages of pros and cons of rooting for teams you wouldn't otherwise root for. Some of you guys take sports way too serious.

Who invited HeismanWildcat? Was ruining the wrestling thread not enough for that guy?

9-2 in bowl games.

No powerhouse here.

HeismanWildcat85 now ignored. I suggest everyone else do the same.

I definitely think Clemson was the better team and could not be stopped. Injuries and the special teams cost them now you get to hear ole Alabama fans crow forever. I love that this team has to lose two games to get left out while everyone else has to go undefeated or see where the cards fall for their one loss team.

I hate Ohio State but I think they're just as good as Alabama and I think Clemson was legit.

To the folks who cheer for Alabama, I have to chalk it up to the fact that you have no idea how they act when you're around them a lot or see how they react when your team is an actual threat. It's real easy to be "classy" to Kentucky when they know you're a rock bottom team in the conference with no possibility of doing anything to them.

Our fans see how all teams react to us in basketball yet still cheer for them in football. I'll never understand rooting for conference teams. It makes no sense. It makes recruiting even harder.

Pretty much everything in this post is wrong. That is all.

I'm not sure this makes sense... you are saying you believe people were pulling for Alabama bc they dont know how Alabama fans react toward other fans? Is that it? I mean, dont respond or take up anymore space in the thread. It was simply rhetorical. I was just mocking you.

You're right about Alabama not belonging in the playoff though. As evident after thrashing Michigan State(38-0) not long after Michigan St. beat Ohio State for those keeping score at home, then beating an undefeated team that was #1 in all the polls. It didnt matter if it was the BCS, CFB playoff, AP rankings- whatever... these two teams wouldve been in the final game in any system.

But our fans will chant "SEC! SEC! SEC!" as if the national championship trophy gets shared by all of us and like we had any part in winning it. We didn't. No one else did either but Alabama. It's an individual team effort.

I also think it's very clear that the conference is not some big powerhouse like it's always portrayed as either, which we have seen the past three years where other big conferences have knocked off "top teams from the SEC."

But like I mentioned earlier, good luck getting the Damien Harris' of the world when they get these results.
No, you're overthinking. Maybe a few dipshits, maybe someone wants to troll a Danny Kanell for ***** and giggles chant SEC but you are failing to realize that it truly doesn't mean that much to us, it's just that your pulling for that team. This is not a life or death thing, but if given the choice ill choose SEC. It's our conference.

Also, i do think the SEC winning it helps us in recruiting. Guys who may not be thinking about UK want to play against those guys they see on TV getting all the pub and the staff tries to convince them if they do come, we can be them. We know its a pipe dream but its a better sell when our conference is winning titles.

My apologies. Didn't know I stumbled into the "cool kids of the message board" club. Will take the advice and stay away from the mob who gets their ***** and giggles from freaking out over different takes.

I sorry massa.

Oh and to the miserable Wildcat Willy, EAD.

In his defense, I don't think OSU deserved to be in the playoffs last year based on their resume vs the other top teams', but they turned out to be the best team - IN the playoffs. The two are separate. That said, he's still completely wrong. Bama was absolutely the #2 resume heading into the playoffs. Under any measurement system.

Dropping a "I sorry massa"? WTF? You get ***** slapped a little (deservedly) for a terrible take, and you are comparing it to slavery somehow? Yep, getting called out for s stupid opinion = oppression! GTFO. Or don't. Ignored.

Just happy my favorite sport had a spectacular conclusion after some duds in the bowls/semis. A great game that got the general public fired up and still will be talking about it likely days later. CFB 2016 should be awesome, hope our team can somehow participate in a respectable manner.

(cheat code: we won't. have to wait until '17 when the QB & O line position has experience/talent).

The whole conference pride garbage started in '04 when undefeated Auburn was shut out of the BCS. for some reason the entire south took that as a slap in the face/spit in your mom insult. since then when anyone from the SEC is competing for the title the entire conference bandwagons them, LSU, Florida, Auburn, Alabama.

lumberjack really gonna play tonight? I think he gets in at the 8 min mark of the 1st half.

Look guys I just wanted to see Dabo celebrate a national championship. Don't know why anyone would have to explain why that'd be good television. Good for Alabama and I'm happy for Clark, even though he's turned on me the last few years. Hope everyone is having a good time

SCUTTLEBUTT:

--- Folks around the program can't really figure out this group of players yet. Team had the best practice in weeks before the LSU game and then crapped the bed. Thursday before the Bama game was a practice so bad that one person told me they were almost certain that Saturday was going to be "a major disaster"...then they go and play great. So who knows.

--- Skal has been as bad in practice as in games, if not worse. Everyone is at a loss.

--- Wynyard better than people thought...but I am not sure that says a lot because hopes weren't tremendously high initially

--- Shooting has been so bad by the non Ulis/Murray people in practice that I was told "if anyone can hit threes consistently, it probably doesn't matter if they can do anything else, they will play"....probably best explanation for Derek getting 17 minutes Saturday.

--- Ulis apparently the major leader in practice...getting mouthy and coaching on the floor. Everyone loves it...first player really to do it since Cousins/Wall

--- Consensus is that Louisville is going to be hard to get to as a Regional for a variety of reasons. Best possible option is likely to be the highest ranked #3 seed...otherwise likely not to be there.

--- Vibe has changed extensively around football complex. While I don't think the kids that left are bad guys, they did have an effect on mood. It is the case however that some of the in season trouble makers are who stayed and probably they now have even more control of the ship...remains to be seen how that works out. Lot depends on if Drew Barker (who they all like) can get it done.

Not sure why I posted all this here but I am killing time and it seemed like the thing to do.

i guess if I had to choose id rather have the hot headed trouble makers than the good boys. Plus with Alabama winning the title last night we can only expect better results here in Lexington

Mulder has knocked down 1 3 in the last 2 games in 11 min & 14 min of action. give the kid 20.

hakeem the dream did a quad I have no doubt

Hopefully a vet coach in Gran who has been around bigtime programs like Auburn & Florida St knows how to handle immature selfish ******** from the Booms and Bakers and Badets in our locker room. or at least better than "welp if it worked I look like a genius!" Dawson.
