Missing on our top 8 targets last year in recruiting has come home.

Combine that with a mass talent exodus, and we have no buffer against bad luck. Each recruit needs to be a hit, and maybe one over perform relative to expectations.

That 2011 season is starting to seem to be the exception. Lamb far outperformed his ranking and Jorts came out of freaking nowhere. Perhaps we ought to expect a 2013-esque season whenever the roster is gutted.

*Skal is going to progress at a quick clip. The puppies on that kid are set off the bus and the touch, wow. He's going to be a shot blocking force as well.

*Kind of like last year where it didn't matter so much if one big had an off night we had such depth someone else would step up...that's how it is with guard this year. Murray having an off night? How about a double double from our frosh PG fresh off of injury?

*Calling my shot...barring injury to our top 8, we lose 5 or less and win it all. Best backcourt in the nation and no one out there good enough to expose our thin front court. I would not say that last year.

Some post ****** game venting is fine. I'm not giving up on this team, but expectations have been tempered...

They did beat Duke and Louisville...hopefully that's not the highlight of this season.

I'm giving up on this being a potential championship team. Fatal flaws are too numerous and too glaring. Outside of a very favorable draw and a crazy UConn/Kentucky 2014 run, the realistic ceiling for this team is sweet sixteen. They are terrified of the spotlight. That doesn't generally translate to slaying giants in big domes on prime time television. I'm going to enjoy the rest of Tyler Ulis' season, wish the best for Skal as a fellow human being and an earthquake survivor, and watch a bunch of mixtapes of guys who are going to be here in about eight months to fix this mess. That's really all you can do.

Rowland is getting unbearable on Twitter. Apparently everyone is too hard on the football team and let's things slide when the basketball team struggles.

Can someone please explain why, apparently, Cal had us foul with :49 seconds on the clock down 3 instead of playing D and letting it play out? I won't even ask about the play coming out of the TO the possesion directly before that where we don't get a shot off. Mind bottling really, IMO.

Rowland is the really good coordinator that got one promotion too many and became a HC. He just needs to talk football recruiting or shutup, we dont need his opinion on anything basketball related. And if next football season is another disaster he should just go away period.

This team is not talented enough offensively to play Duke like defense. I'm sure fat will have the numbers for you shortly.

Right, I love taking it easy and joking around following a loss to the worst team in the SEC. That ranks right above proving how much i thought we'd suck as my favorite things to do 5 minutes after a loss.
