Yeah and Skal was going to be the next A.D. If nothing else we as UK basketballs should wait and reserve judgements until we see it on the court.
We've had one five star be a complete bust in 5 years of this, but by all means, let's just assume they're all a bunch of Skals.

"You never know what you're getting, even with a top recruit!" This is one of those arguments that sounds good until you realize that people have eyeballs in their head and some of us even understand some basketball. Watch a tape of Monk. Watch a tape of De'Aaron Fox. Watch Adebayo. Use your brain. Are they Skal? No. They're not Skal. And just because we've got a problem with a bunch of pussies on this year's team doesn't mean ALL FIVE STARS MIGHT BE NO-TALENT PUSSIES!!! CALS ONE AND DONE SYSTEM DOESN'T WORK!!!!

We suck it up, we take our lumps, and next year we remember what they all said and did and act accordingly.

Yeah all of you basketballs were creaming your jeans with allusions of what Skal was going to provide this season. Do I think next years class will ish the bed, of course not but I couldn't care less about them. I'm only concerned with this bunch of jackalopes. If you are willing to write this season off so be it.

Tried to tell you guys sports were all terrible.

Gonna start working on GYERO: Civil War Reenactors Edition. Message me with which team you want. Can't promise you you'll get your first choice but I'll try to accommodate.

I know some have said Willis should look to move on after this season for more playing time but I think he is EXACTLY the kind of vet that is a luxury to bring off the bench to compliment our crop of monstars next season. Darius Miller lite.

I don't know though I'm kinda drunk lol go cats

No one said he should. No one would object to him coming back, whatsoever. But he may have to decide on a possible ring or a starting spot somewhere else. No one would fault him for doing what other graduates have done and get his for a year.

I don't feel like going all Gyero detective and digging up posts from months ago but I think it has been mentioned. Either way, I agree with you. It's a decision he'll have to make.

Yeah, so stupid for us to assume Skal would be like every other five star player Cal has ever brought in. And nothing says holding onto hope for this year like worrying that next year's monster class might be a worst-case-scenario. Great idea, perfect way to wash down today's **** sandwich of a game.

I have zero expectations for next years class and that's my point. Like it or not we have to have to live and die by each yeas class and when Cal misses on a guy like Skal it makes all the difference.

Sure those misses are few and far between but the Goodwin/POY class are part of it. One mistake (Skal) instead of say Diamond Stone and the season is in complete flux....

This is one of those years where it's bit Cal in the arse because of his system of moving guys to the pros as fast as possible. Dakari should have been on this team and I honestly believe he would have been the difference for this team. A low post presence that we just don't have and it would have beneficial to both him and us as fans. But what do I know, I'm no basketball....

The NFL is like the NBA as far as I'm concerned, don't really care until the playoffs roll around and then strap yourself in and see what happens. I guess it has to do with growing up in far Westerm Ky and not having a real/regional team to root for. Or something like that.

You're right, Cal should have made Dakari stay.

So you don't thing Dakari would have benefited by coming back? You don't think he would have made a difference on this team? I get it, this is UK and you have to go the League as soon as possible. It's what we have to deal with year in year out

My point isn't about this game or who should have stayed or left. I guess what I'm saying is when the system Cal has put in place is that there will be years, like 13 and possibly this year, that one big mistake in recruiting will kill you (I.E. Skal).

- Pretty easy, in years where the high school class is down...we'll struggle. This class was really weak. The last bad class was the Poythress/Noel class, next year is being hailed as good as 2003.

- Dakari would have benefitted from coming back. This draft is weak and he'd be the focal point of our frontcourt.

- Meow worked 3rd shift at the hospital tonight (RN) and my best friend, who is married, got a hall pass for the night. We abused it.

- I hate the GD Panthers, but I'm supposed to go tailgate tomorrow in Charlotte then watch at a bar up the street with my boys. Three hours from now, yikes.

- Want no part of Pearl as our next coach.

-Pearl isn't getting the UL job.

-Up by 12 and lost to Auburn. [laughing] Jesus.

Welp, see what these knuckleheads are actually made of. The rest of the SEC will smell blood in t he water and salivating at the idea of rushing the court and highlight video for the next 15 years.

-On the plus side, you will likely be able to get a drink easier at the SECT this year.

-From all indications the Johnsons were intent on him going, I don't think that was Cal's suggestion, but he would've really cured a lot for this team.

-Ulis out there by himself that entire 2nd half.

The whole damn team sucked yesterday, even Ulis. Sure, he could have some more help (especially inside)d, but in the 4 losses...

UCLA - 2-11 FG and 1-5 3P
Ohio State - 4-12 FG and 1-7 3P
LSU - 7-16 FG and 2-6 3P
Auburn - 5-17 FG and 0-3 3P

That's 18-56 FG and 4-21 3P, or 32% and 19%, respectively. Not going to get it done.

He's not a role player, but he's also not a "star" player, and can't carry a team by himself.

Find it pretty hard to place the blame on him. Guess if you want to he missed some shots but unless you're just not watching the game he was the only guy out there after we went up 12.

This is just a poorly built team. Ulis isn't the problem and there isn't a PG in America that could do much better with the supporting cast he has to work with. There is no one we can rely on for a must-have bucket. The issues are insurmountable unless Skal wakes up today with a unibrow and a penis.

We got 13 points from Lee, Poythress and Skal. 13 f'ing points against a team that may actually have less size/skill down low than us.
