OTOH we're gonna suck.

No way, man. This is going to be the year of GYERO.

Football Cats will win the East and a New Year's Bowl Game.
The Fox/Bam/Monk, etc. Cats will destroy everyone in route to #9 (possibly #10 if Cal ever decides to play the Kiwi and move Ulis to SG or PF this year).
Matthew Mitchell's girls will win it all.
BBdK will become a proud Daddy.
wcc will get engaged.
Anth and Doc Boat will become humble.
PTI won't give in to Anth's constant pressure, but he & Tiff will still be elected Governor & First Lady of Louisiana.
The Reds will only lose 99 games.
A mountain lion will bite Rob73 in the ***.
Joey will design a machine that cures baldness and I will profit.
The Bengals will win the first of 9 Super Bowls in a row after Burfict is kicked out of the league for a melon to melon hit on Chief at an Apple shareholder's convention.
Chief becomes rich in the settlement, buys the Playboy Mansion and never posts again.

They have 3 albums that are all at least 9/10 imo and they are all completely different. It's also not really a band, in that Kevin Parker writes all of the songs and plays all of the instruments on the records. Makes the output even more impressive.

He writes better riffs than anyone in the past 30 years and his melodies are on point

Football Cats will win the East and a New Year's Bowl Game. NO/NO

Matthew Mitchell's girls will win it all. NO and who even cares?
BBdK will become a proud Daddy. Guessing either a late 16 expecting announcement or early 17.
wcc will get engaged. Mortal lock
Anth and Doc Boat will become humble. [laughing]
PTI won't give in to Anth's constant pressure, but he & Tiff will still be elected Governor & First Lady of Louisiana. Hopefully she just leaves his ***, can you blame her?
The Reds will only lose 99 games. NO. 109+
A mountain lion will bite Rob73 in the ***. Either that or a ladder finishes the job this time.
Joey will design a machine that cures baldness and I will profit. Bald is way better than this male overgrown hair fad. Clean it up.
The Bengals will win the first of 9 Super Bowls in a row after Burfict is kicked out of the league for a melon to melon hit on Chief at an Apple shareholder's convention.[laughing] Um... HELL NO. In fact they double down and pick up another head case.

Prince's best riffs were pre-1986

Black Francis - Maybe, but his riffs weren't would I would consider his greatest contribution

Jack White - Any riffs of his that aren't carbon copies of other blues riffs with pedals and effects added?

Kurt Cobain. lol.
I'm not including metal artists because I don't listen to that tripe.
Got any post 1986 Mark Knopfler riffs that rocked the world?
Edge's lead work >>> rhythm

Stick to DMB, playboy

For better or for worse, the "Seven Nation Army" riff is played in every single sports stadium in the WORLD. So, I'm going to have to give the edge to Jack White there.

And you completely ignored Tom Morello.

Mid to late 80's Metallica was "tripe"? Ok. :flush:

Popular = good. Obviously.

Tom Morello is a fantastic guitarist that plays a style of music I don't enjoy and again, is a guy that plays better leads than riffs

I actually dig the first 3 Metallica albums, so you can throw Master of Puppets in there for the greatest past 30 year riffs discussion

Had never heard of Pale Impala. Liked the album, realized I had heard "elephant" before. I think mgmt is a fair comparison, kind of psychedelic rock. If you like them, should give Radio Moscow a listen.

Tried to check in on southwest at the first moment possible. Fail, ended up with B20. Did end up sitting across from the Heavy Hitter[laughing] Seems like a nice dude.

Well the album started off boring and slow with the guy trying to ******** everyone with a bunch of smart riffs: "blah blah blah, You gotta go backwards!'. That part of the album sucked!. But then Transycat just went off and said, "Man, whatever, the album is good as ****. We all know that!"

It is possible to be popular and good. Most of my favorite bands are also ones that sold the most albums. But being popular does not make you good.

- Terrible bands like Green Day and Coldplay and bands that don't rely on riffs like Arcade Fire, Smashing Pumpkins, and Radiohead. Great list. I'd take QOTSA, GNR, and maybe the Strokes.

-'Yes I'm Changing' is my favorite off 'Currents', been on repeat the past few days. It's on some old George Michael type ****, imo. Haven't listened to their other albums yet.

-Man, Mussel Burger Bar is so good. Only the 3rd time I've been surprisngly, b/c the original location is such a Zoo. Downtown was easy in & out...great space, too in the old St. Charles Exchange. #CEO burger w/ Elote (I could probably eat 10 ears).

-Would love to live Downtown. If it weren't for Gillie, probably already would be.

-My store had 2 Nacho Bait bombers randomly, been asking for them for a year or two. [cheers]

-Beach vacation to replace SECT for one year? Developing...lass is all in, but I'm having some feelings.

-Pope does Vegas: Better clear out your social media cache.

-Sperry Topsider Duck Boots arriving this afternoon. Finally gave up on LL Bean after a few years of trying, guess I have bad timing as they are back-ordered until 2027 or something every time I remember I need some.

-Mark Knopfler is a prank caller, not a musician. Please try to pay attention.

-Snow time, enjoy! :sunglasses::basketball:

The 2016 questions are:

Pitino still at UL?
UL probation?
Cal still at UK?
Stoops still at UK?
Chad, engaged/married?
BBdk, MCF, Clark, Richie kids?
PTI doing anything with his situation?
DrX is also going to be on the hot seat by late 16. Will be interesting to monitor.
Will Bonzo and Beavis return to GYERO?

I'm going to deliberately NOT look up what a Sperry Topsider duck boot looks like, and instead keep a ridiculous image in my head of a regular Sperry Topsider, with side vents and useless leather shoelaces, only taller with additional vents and holes with cords, etc.

It's no secret the SECT is my favorite weekend of the year...but, I feel like it's been in Nashville every year for a decade, and will be for another decade with a few random exceptions -- and I'm not really enjoying this team (for now). Don't feel like I'd be missing out this year, necessarily -- just a weird feeling, subject to change of course.

Watching it in a sportsbook/casino/beach somewhere doesn't sound too bad at this point, but we'll see. Plus, the points I would earn with the wife for "sacrificing" one year are too high to compute, and that's how I would play it up. :100points:

-Is George going?
