Still pisses me off IU has been allowed to "coast" their way back into the picture by playing (and dominating) complete garbage.

Louisville ALWAYS manages to finagle the early conference schedule. They have played five conferences games, four at home and the four wins they have are against teams with combined 8-16 conference record.

They hit their stretch starting next week and reality sets in.

Snow Randoms:

- Villanova was also highly regarded by the computers the last two years. I'm going to need to see them do something in March before I trust Handsome Jay Wright again.

- This is a silly thing to get annoyed about, I know, but does it bother anyone else when professional media members refer to players/coaches by their first names when discussing them? I find it maddening. I don't mind if it's some iconic player with a unique name- Kobe, Shaw, LeBron, etc.- but guys like Parrish goes first name all the time- "Bill," "John," etc.

- Our rookies (Towns, Booker, Lyles) are BALLING. It's hard to believe for a team that went 38-1 but we really had too much talent or maybe even a roster that was lopsided. Ideally, Lyles gets 28mpg at the 4 and Booker 30mpg at the 2/3 all year. What a freshmen class that turned out to be.

- Have to give it to Stoops for bringing in a Top 25ish class after such a **** year.

- Anybody go to DEP's? I love that place. Bought a 12er of Southern Tier 2XMAS for $6.99 last night. Cheaper than High Life.

- Looking like 2-4" in Cincy and not starting until tomorrow afternoon. Works for me. I'll just camp out at the lass's OTR apartment and walk down to nearby restaurants and bars. Kind of torn at this point in my life between buying a house out in the burbs or moving downtown. I go back-and-forth. In the summer, going over to my buddies' house and sitting on the deck, grilling, etc., I love it. It sure is nice being able to walk everywhere you want to go, doh.

- As BBdK has explained a million times, Cincinnati chili isn't actually chili in the traditional sense. It's a sauce. I've never understood those who don't like it, but know many non-Cincy people don't. I grew up with it and have loved it since I can remember. Different strokes, I suppose. I've got nothing for hot browns.

- Underrated old song- Dramarama "Anything, Anything."

Hot browns are OK, but most are made to under perform.

Feel like 75% of those who order is for the sole purpose to post on Facebook that they ordered a hot brown and reside in Kentucky.

Louisville is good -- was way off on them heading into the season.

You are usually better than that, and SAE knows better...but as a college basketball fan for the past 30+ seasons, it's easy to see that Pitino often does his best work with his back against the wall. He really is a fantastic basketball coach. Terrible person but fantastic coach.

Annoying now, but like UL, their schedule begins to get tough. I think they will do enough to keep Crean for one more year, which in the end is a good thing.

Well, at one point Q was their best returning player. Pitino has worked magic pretty much every year of late it seems...just didn't see it with this squad -- and as I've said, Lee/Lewis was pretty much a miracle for them.

-Yeah, don't understand the hate for Cincy "Chili". Anyone should know, despite the name, it's not "chili" or intended to be. Learn Greek. That **** is delicious for those of us who like meat covered in a pound of cheese.

It was just a hard team to prognosticate. I'm not shocked they're a Top 15ish team. Pitino is one of the best and now he has two veteran shooters.

At least Louisville's schedule gets significantly tougher.

Indiana should lose no more than three conference games the way their schedule unfolds.

But the pollsters aren't fooled. They are 16-3 and undefeated in conference yet Ranked # 25.

...and they are doing it without Blackmon. Not going to suggest they are BETTER without him, but the team seems to flow better -- and that kid is a bigger liability on defense than Willis or Wiltjer could ever dream of being, TS. It's embarrassing.

Watching Texas I would have to say they are a dark horse for the final four.

Smart has that "it" factor. They have talent that you forget is even there due to how bad it was managed under Barnes.

Once they get Ridley back they will hit their stride.

Some of you guys live and die with Louisville as much as you do, Kentucky. Yeah, I hope those pricks lose every game, but we beat them and all my attention is on the Cats right now. Get a grip.

Again, for the 10,000th time we do not live in Cincy or anywhere else away from the chaos. We have boots on the ground in the depths of the "greatest college sports town in america" and there is nowhere to run or hide from the constant babble of BS from Louisville fans, media, radio etc.

I often dream of how life would prosper to live away from this rat trap.

It would be a lot easier to "get a grip".

- feeling like going with a 2 chillito sidecar tonight #blessed

- apparently there are people who order a bowl of Skyline for their meal. Those simpletons are the ones that then go on and degrade Cincinnati "chili". Idiots, I say.

- that uncomfortable feeling you have right now is the Doppler 69 weather man boners popping up all throughout the Commonwealth. Saw two local forecasts for NKY this morning. A) OMG 12 inches of snow tomorrow after noon MEESAH SAY WE GONNA DIE now going to you LIVE from Kroger where it looks like the opening scene from The Walking Dead and B) well folks according to our model, it's going to miss all but the southern part of the viewing area, sorry kids, no snow day for you lol. So who the eff knows...

- tired of figuring out this team, but if Cal can find some way, any way to get Skal going like he was early on (and if any coach can, it's him), could be interesting. This is the type of year where you keep your head down, get to the sweet 16 and see who's standing. But it won't be us without some sort of big, and it'd be nice for the lottery guy to be the one who gets tweaked this year.

^ Me too. Can't discount ole Tommy still being on the sideline.

-Thursday night games are weird. Pretty much hate them early week when I know I don't have the Tues/Wed to break up the week...but once they finally arrive, I guess they are pretty cool. Still not preferred, of course.

I'm just glad the SEC/UK avoids the late Sunday night/Monday night games. Those are the worst. Don't really mind Thursday night, actually.

It's not chill. That's the issue. This discussion would never exist if Cincinattians weren't such liars. Call it a sauce and be proud of it. Obviously they are ashamed of the only thing they are good at - meat sauce.

The one place I like UK potentially where other contenders suffer is that I think we can be a team that can contain dribble penetration. Ulis and Briscoe are already stud defenders. Same with Hawkins. Murray's effort has improved a lot. Now, we have to put it all together, but I don't think it's a huge leap to think we'll get there.

The bowl is my sidecar.

Add a half-bag of oyster crackers and it's the closest I get to eating cereal.

Curious to see the rotation tonight.

Seems Cal really tightens up in 'big' games...which this is considering the circumstances & location.

Will Willis be rewarded for last game or will Cal's praise & talk of him "passing" the other guys be just that, talk?

I'll set his over/under at 11 minutes.

I'd go:

Ulis
Murray
Briscoe
Willis
Poythress

Lee (maybe this will keep him from picking up 5 quick fouls lol)
Labissiere (give him a few and see if he has it)
Mulder

Keep getting e-mails updating us about how bad the weather will be and instructions on how to use the new mass notification system for cancellations. Seems like at this point we just shut it down instead of waking everyone up at 5:30 tomorrow morning to tell us.

Snow is fine. Ice can GTFO.

Hopeful that the leadership in the city of Wellington can put aside their differences and get these roads and sidewalks cleaned up. This is not a time to let pride stand in the way of a simple snow removal.

Got to think the guys get it done tonight, somehow, someway. 72-67 CATS.

I know alot of you are well traveled when it comes to UK basketball. So, i was wondering how many states have you seen a UK basketball game in person? I will be at the bottom of the list, but for me, its 4.

18 at the moment...California,Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas

I was close to adding a couple more this month (Arkansas & Kansas), even had a flight on hold to Fayetteville today but decided to cancel it yesterday. Looking like KU is out as well at this point.

Wellington streets are a mess. Few were scraped, most were not, only intersections and a few selected streets. Guess having paid thousands, thousands and thousands of dollars for an impractical sidewalk, more "No Parking" signs than on most streets, 135+ plants, many lights, one constantly blinking, truck loads of mulch that is washing away, we now cannot afford to scrape the streets. Oh by the way, Kipling south of Brighton, is in the City of Wellington. It is now snow packed ice and a total mess. Yes, Kipling north of Brighton was
scraped.
