The inconsistency from game to game with the way the officials decide to call it is mind bottling.
Briscoe + Matthews in the backcourt is dicks.
I'm not sure why we can't just play Willis at the 3 when Murray or Ulis need a break rather than putting 2 of the worst offensive players of the Cal era on the court.
A few rules basic rules:
No Briscoe 3's
No Poythress 3's
Never ever have all 3 of your worst free throw shooters in the game at the same time. (Matthews, Briscoe, Lee)
If the shot clock gets to 10 let Ulis or Murray create. Enough of these absolute garbage late shot clock shots.

I will say Cal's double team trap at the end of shot clocks and halfs is nice to see. Total disruption and has worked very well recently.
Now we'll just have to hold on for dear life when they start making contested 27 footers.
poythress looked money on that corner 3. if he sticks around 3-4 more years, he'll eventually start burying that at least 15% of the time.
except they can just run a second defender off briscoe or another non-shooter

I'll take my chances, Ulis can't handle another defender? Ha! I want the ball in the hands of my best shooters and best foul shooters to shoot a deep one, drive and get fouled and get points at the line, drive and kick to Willis or Murray/Ulis whichever one doesn't have the ball, or drive and oop to Poy, Lee or Skal.

I really thought Cal was going to force-feed Skal to everyone whether we liked it or not. To his credit, he's left him on the bench while Poythress and Willis ball out. Vitale keeps screaming for Skal, but we're rolling with our best unit right now. Wish he'd hush about it...

Imagine how sick we would look with a non-role player running the point.
Even though he isn't scoring today, Willis opens up the floor for the rest of the team. He can hit the corner shot, so you have to guard it. Opens things up for Ulis and Briscoe to drive the lane. Can't have Lee and Poythress fighting for the same space, which has happened a lot this season.
There's Briscoe in the middle of zone. That's a great find by Cal and a weapon going forward.
