I disagree. Don't think we **** the bed. We got beat. Had a chance to win. That's on us but when it went to ot, curtains. I'm not happy but we played our *** off. Hard to be pissed off after that.

Meh. I'm not playing that card. That's some UL ****. We had our chances. Wide open 3s. Final play. Missed several boards.

I was spitting mad after the other 4 loses because we sucked. Lost there in ridiculous foul trouble and an all out effort. I'll take it. We beat them anywhere else on earth.

I'm fuming because we got cheated.
I'm fuming because people who don't know any better* will take away from that game that Kansas is a better basketball team than Kentucky. And they're not.

*Not that logic has prevented a six-seed discrepancy between fairly equal UK and KU teams from happening before (see: 2014).

Not having a legitimate back to the basket post player hurts us so much.

1. Rebounding
2. Spacing
3. Keeping teams honest on D
4. Fouls (easier to call fouls when the ball is at the basket instead of getting hand checked 17 ft from the rim and hoping to get the whistle.)
5. If you're going to play small ball, better score in transition. Instead, we're running 25 seconds off the shot clock and the ball NEVER enters to post.

This is what HOFCJVC was trying to do with Skal but he gave up on it, which is fine. Our bigs are all 4s/stretch 4s. We need an aircraft carrier.

I miss Dakari.

No, it's not UofL ****. It was a historically officiated game. They shot 47 GD free throws and fouled out our entire frontcourt. This isn't "every day" Rafters stuff. We had our hands tied and it lost the game for us.

We had plenty of chances to win, despite the foul issues- and we didnt make plays when we needed to. We had a ton of open looks to ice the game. Skal had a rebound late get ripped from him and cost a possession. Left the guy open to knock down a game tying 3 late, TO's and missed FT's in crunch time.

Point at fouls, but there were plenty of chances to win it outright. We played well in the toughest environment, which is promising going into the stretch run, but it was still a loss which couldve been a win.

- Selden pushes off with that offhand every single time and also got away with some hooks.

- Tired of watching UK not even get shots off on big possessions. Not a great trend.

- Once OT hit and we had no one left, we were done.

Just because UL cries every game doesn't mean it isn't true on occasion. Last night complaining about the refs is fair and you could see it coming at the first TV timeout in the 2nd half when we had 5 personals already.

I can honestly say I've seen poorly officiated games, but never in my life have I seen a game get officiated tighter and tighter as a team just missed FT after FT. Those bastards barely surpassed 50% from the line and the refs just got worse and worse.

Final takeways...

1. We fought valiantly in a hostile environment on the road.
2. We got screwed by the refs with a historically slanted 2nd Half/OT in favor of Kansas.
3. We ran out of gas because of the foul trouble.
4. Our offense was impossible to run b/c we ran out of players, especially Willis.
5. We are better than Kansas.
6. This team has come a long way in the past 2 weeks.
7. Tyler Ulis is a stud.
8. Murray needs to improve his consistency.
9. Briscoe is making progress with his FT stroke, but got tired, and probably reverted back to old form b/c he was tired. He had trouble finishing late in the game...obviously b/c of the cramping.
10. Rape whistle.

The post fouls were the most egregious. Skal and Pee with their arms straight up, after getting backed down *whistle* [eyeroll]

Few quick thoughts...

*With apologies to assistbyredass, if Skal is going to get any meaningful run he better figure out how to accidentally get a few defensive boards. A couple sweet J's are all well and good but when we play good D for 25 seconds and then can't finish the possession by clearing a rebound, that's unacceptable.

Baby steps. Hes really coming around.

Another zero rebound performance. Its actually astonishing that he can manage to play 14 minutes and not get ONE rebound. In his last 32 minutes of action he has zero rounds. :joy::joy::joy:

The kid is a loser and the biggest bust in UK history. He can take his thug *** back to Haiti and get in another earthquake for all I care.

High level games usually have strong crews less effected by fans. You should never expect or see a FT anomaly, most by KU in 19 damn years, in a matchup like that with no dominant bigs.

[sick] Good to know it's all about what these guys can do for you. He is what he is, and no one is happy with his game, but if you can't get behind this kid and support him after what he's been through, that's on you.

And "thug?" The kid hasn't done or said one negative thing off the court since he's been here. WTF could possibly make him a thug?

He acts like a punk on the court. He did it with Simmons and he did it in several other games. Its one thing if youre a Cousins, or Davis or Tyler Ulis and you can back it up. But when youre the biggest loser on the floor and talking **** and acting like a punk, its embarrassing.

My problem with the kid is that he is just a lazy ***. Rebounding is effort. Getting better is effort. Has zero to do with what he can do for me. Hes just a lazy waste of talent that talks **** and Id prefer not to root for guys like that. The sooner he gets to the D-League the better.

The kid's anything but a thug. As nice as anyone we've ever had here and been through as much as anybody we've had too.

He's got this soft tag he's trying to overcome so there were a few games he played a little too physical as a result. He's not out there trying to hurt anybody and this is obviously the first time he's dealt with this much physicality coming at him. It's not that difficult to see. Freshman progress at different speeds, he's not the only one to take this long to develop and won't be the last. You're obviously spoiled and pyscho.

Skal's trying to address his issues what are you going to do about yours?

KU guards pushed off all night and I don't recall them getting it called on them once. The ******** "over-the-back" calls, came with little to no contact. Several fouls on our bigs came on late whistles after KU had missed the shot. And we got NONE of those calls at the other end.

The entire crew should be disciplined for that horse ****.

The other thing they did all night and only got called for once was the post player moving while back screening his man so he couldn't help over. They ran that like a set play all night.

I will give them credit on the no-call when Skal and Murray defended the layup towards the end and Murray blocked it out. That's a tough one not to call but it was spot-on. It's not an easy job, but down the stretch it got away from them. Somebody tweeted last night that during a stretch in the second half, KU went about 6 minutes without a field goal, and during that stretch they went from being down 3 to being up 2. That just shouldn't happen.

It's UL **** to complain about refs. We had our chances and blew it. That said, WCC on the CBB is [laughing]. I had a similar meltdown after the Whisky game when a bunch of tOSU and Arky fans were riding Wisky's dick. Of course me hoping they all die of AIDS is still brought up and I still stand behind hoping such.

Just remember this in March when KU inevitable folds. Lots of stupid on that squad. They will fold like a cheap suit and that's going to hurt a hell of a lot more than a tough loss in January.

Still pissed Murray was spotting up for a f'ing 3 in a tie game at the end of regulation. Skal does Skal things but that was just stupid and part of me hoped Ulis kicked him in the dick and pointed to the rest of the team to take notice.

Skal isn't a thug or lazy...he's a big guy with poor strength and little bball instinct. Some of that can be corrected with time, some of it just is what it is. Just because he's not what he was billed doesn't mean he needs to be attacked personally.

The little incidents he's had on the court are related to the fact that the book on him is he is soft and teams try to bully him. He's trying to disprove that, although in the wrong way.

I hate when people chalk up bad play to "heart", that's a lazy take most of the time. So much of it in this case amounts to not having the basic reaction time and anticipation to beat everyone else to the spot. He's a step slow to everything and when he does get there he gets muscled out.

Ok will you quit with the Louisville ********. Its UofL to complain about the fouls when there is nothing really there:

In Rupp
  • UofL fouls 21 verses UK 19
  • UofL ft attempts 22 verses UK 25
UofL fans cried about the refs after that game big time.

Yesterday:
  • Kansas fouls 20 verses UK 33
  • Kansas ft attempts 47 verses UK 22
If being pissed about the way that game was called especially in the second half is UofL then L1C4 bitches whores for all. That was a gd sham.

I'll add yeah UK had their chances but its only because Kansas missed a boatload of free throws including the front end of one and ones. They hit those UK doesn't even have a shot to win it in regulation.

So for the past 100+ years, basketball coaches, analysts, players, etc. have continued to say over and over again that rebounding is about effort and desire and want. Same with defense. Now suddenly we have a 7 foot stiff who would rather try and act like a guard because hes too lazy and too soft to battle for a rebound, and the effort to rebound that coaches have been preaching to their players all these years was a great big lie.

Skal is lazy. Rebounding is wanting to do it and going after the ball. Zero rebounds in 32 minutes of play is shear laziness for an athletic 7 footer. And it sucks that Cal plays him that many minutes.

Im not the only one that has noticed Skal's antics on the court. WCC and I have texted about it. Obviously, hes not as irrational as I am about what is said, but several people have pointed it out. And it makes him look like a complete jackass.

UL complains about a relatively equally called game, FTA wise, in a game they lose by 20. Not even close to the same thing

Have to agree on Skal's laziness and lack of desire for rebounding. You would think in 32 minutes he would accidentally fall into 3 or 4 rebounds on size alone. He does have a lot of blocked shots, so he is capable. He just doesn't want to do it.

Well maybe he is a lazy *** criminal that would rather shoot J's than grab boards, regardless of what the reason is...if he can't rebound and help end defensive possessions, we can't have him on the floor. So in that respect, redass and I will agree. Grab just a couple boards in crunch time on D and we win that game.

Do people realize you have to go back FOUR games to find a box score where Skal had a rebound. 4 freaking game ago against Arkansas was the last time he had a rebound.
