awesome way to pick a President.

A couple hundred thousand (maybe?) corn fed farmers do that nonsense & the results are reported as though the other 49 states should follow suit

That loss really pisses me off. Totally get the whole "there's nothing wrong with taking Kansas to OT in The Phog." That's correct and would be the proper perspective any year with any of our teams.

All that considered that damn thing was ours and it would've gone down as maybe one of UK's best road wins I can ever remember. Woke up early on Saturday and just had a feeling we were going to bring it. As the game unfolded I was convinced we were walking out of that snakepit with an epic W. Seemed like we were in control of the game more so than Kansas and every time they went on a run we answered ( except for OT).

In a game like that it just comes down to a few possessions and bounces going your way. Ulis was brilliant the entire way and then it bounces off his knee out last possssion. Poythress gets double screened on the baseline and can't jump out on Selden on that corner 3 that put them up 1. Don't want to be referee guy but that was so blatantly one sided in the 2nd half. Whatever, you're not getting a fair whistle down the stretch in Phog Allen and we still should have made he winning plays to take down those ******** on their home court.

Hopefully they can learn from this so when we have similar opportunities in March ( we will in such a wide open field) we make the right plays down the stretch in crunch time like we did so well in 2011 and 2014.

My puppies were set off the bus last night in men's league. But whole 5 substitution patterns ruined the magic. Felt like Heshimu Evans vs. Michigan State. Never got it back. We did win, so that's good, but man, I was about to pull up from midcourt like Tayshaun on the 5th one. TS. What could've been.

actually had to google "how do iowa caucuses work." honestly had no gd clue.

so let's try here:

all these small town bumpkins go to their local high school gym/american legion/vfw, have an explosive series of arguments and political rallies, then several hours later basically vote by a show of hands or scratching their dudes name on a piece of paper.

that about right? wtf?
And apparently on the Democratic side they vote multiple rounds and can try to sway voters of loser candidates over to another side during said caucus.

When I'm president the primary system will consist of rounds of Star Wars Battlefront. This will lead the way to President BlaznBluntz69-420 in 2032.

Kentucky Republicans are having a caucus for the first time this year, but from what I understand you actually go into a room to vote like normal instead of by a raise of hands.
As long as you can find your county voting site and show up between 10-4 on a weekday, your vote matters!

-Milkwood/Actors Friday night. Great show & a really neat place...our little town has a pretty wodie little theater scene.

Milkwood has some great cocktails. Split Octopus Bacon & the Burger -- which is one of the best in town, unreal really. Cool little place in there, perfect for that type of evening.

-Wasn't really mad at all post game. Maybe b/c we looked like an elite team, dunno -- it stung a little, but nowhere near any of the other losses.

That Ulis TO was so damn weird/shocking...ugh/ He had played probably his best game of his life, and under the weather, so couldn't get mad. My God he's so good it's unreal. Had a little trouble shooting over guys and getting his shot off, but other than that, he was unstoppable.

Seriously, can you think of more than a couple times that he's been blocked in his entire career? It's unbelievable. And his shooting % went from 96% to 98% on the pull up jumper for the season.

...Murray getting lost and giving up that Selden 3 though. Literally the ONLY thing we should have been worried about on that poss, and it happened.

-Nice time bullshitting with new fathers BellyDancer & TurboK for the night, feel like I hadn't hung out with those guys in forever. Got a table outside at Gerstle's post game and proceeded to get obliterated.

-Hoops at 7:30, see everyone there. Please bring 4-5 different colored shirts apiece so we can make sure we can figure out teams.

-UNC by 8

Monday Randoms:

- Stayed sober and clear Saturday for the game. Rolled out my parents and my two uncles and three cousins also came over. Drinking pre-and-during games is fun and all, but I like being locked in for the big ones.

- Man, that game- four guys fouling out- brought me back to Cats road trips to Nashvill, Chapel Hill and Indianapolis (vs. IU) growing up. I know some of you are just too solid of character to ever mention the refs, but that was some historic **** right there.

- You can argue Dunn or Trimble, but really hard to say another PG is definitely better than Ulis right now. Kid does everything. Up to 16.1p, 6.2a.

- Murray became a simple jumpshooter again. Has to drive Cal nuts. You can drive on Kansas and his pull-up and craftiness is terrific. Not his best game. Of course, he was atrocious on D.

- At this point, you just have to look at Skal as a role-playing big off the bench. Forget the preseason expectations. It's a nice asset to have a 7-footer who can hit 17-footers.

- Marcus Lee needs to get his **** together.

- As has been mentioned ad nauseum, even when he's not scoring, Willis's presence helps our offense so much. His foul issues killed us with that ******** triangle-and-two.

- This team is dangerous in March because we can get to the rim/paint on anyone. Rebounding is a big concern, but it wouldn't have been quite as bad without the sillyass foul calls.

- I continue to be confused by all the praise UNC has gotten. They have a great HOME win against Maryland, one of those games where everything is rolling. And besides that- who else have they played? Texas is probably the 2nd best team they've played...and they lost that one. Second-best win? Syracuse maybe?

- West Virginia is just a weird place, even driving through it feels eerie. It's so dark and dungy because of the mountains, I suppose. Charleston is about the most depressing looking decent-sized city I've ever seen from the interstate.

- WTF happened to Vandy?

- Have never gotten the Sandra Bullock love...as a babe or an actress.

- Yay Super Bowl week

UNC praise is a result of a soft early schedule & who they are on paper -- along with the fact there is nobody else to talk about this season when everyone loses all the time.

It's obvious they are a Top 3 team this season, no matter who they've played. Who else is there?

Maryland's best win is probably what, Wisconsin? Not a top 50 win this season, as they were harping on during their game yesterday. They're in the same boat.

Clearly one of the better teams, but not due to anything they've done necessarily.

*Sandra Bullock was a smoke show in her prime. Her role in 'A Time to Kill' was thrilling for a married man.

*Other than Oklahoma (maybe) there isn't anyone playing better basketball than KY.

And I'm fine with that. I just keep hearing they're the clear favorite from many CBB analysts and I don't see how you can say that yet. Things haven't gotten sticky for them in ACC play yet. It's coming and we'll see how good they are.

-They are A clear favorite, not sure their is a THE clear favorite this season...but if I had to pick one, it would certainly be UNC at this point. Seems Chad is getting pretty sensitive about announcers of late.

Should be a good one tonight at Yum.

Watched in Bham with Woodford and some other UK locals. The game watch experience was *almost* ruined by a fellow UK fan lady who was crazy, didnt shut up and bothered both me and my wife the entire game. And my wife will literally talk and engage with anyone, and even she couldnt take it. At one point this other lady ate a croissant off my wifes salad plate- while she was still eating it. Strangest thing i'd ever seen.

I couldnt watch the OT... knew the outcome was inevitable and had a drive home. Made the right call for sure.

Got the Egg going again this weekend. Reverse sear tri-tip, smoked vegetables. Was a real win and it paired well with the sunshine at 67 degree temps.

Lunch with my good pal Geese Feeder yesterday as he passed through town. Always an enjoyable time, although Jim 'n Nicks barbecue has apparently gone from decent to meh over the course of the 3 years i've been gone.

Marcus Lee as a freshman in the NCAAT >>> Whatever this version of Marcus Lee is. Ugh. Clunker after Clunker with that guy.

Caucus is a funny word.

- How hilarious was LSU down the stretch? Simmons barely touched the ball and took no shots the last 4-5 minutes. Quarterman's a good player, but why he is running the show with the game on the line? He should be on the wing. Let Simmons operate. DeCourcy's boy continues to show what a great coach he is.

- Lee was our second-best player in November/early December. He's better than he's shown.

Yeah, that was the game that the announcers kept harping on them finally needing an actual good win, just slipped my mind for a second. Watched the entire thing.

-60 Minutes was horrible last night -- that doesn't happen very often.

It's announcers, writers, etc. I'd have to go with Oklahoma.

Vegas obviously isn't sold on the Heels.

She is without question a plant for Pitino & his backers to attack Katina

and is also without question a smokeshow
So she could have won on merit....or won because of the services she provided UL

Well, they have them listed as the favorite to win the title right now, so not sure what you mean.

Nobody is going to be an overwhelming favorite.

Welp you're a dumb fan, buddy. You were supposed to be LIVID after we took a team that has played significantly better than us all season, in the toughest place to play in all of college athletics to overtime. Despite the fact that UK looked great and should give everyone a reason for optimism for a nice March run, you need to be absolutely pissed. And also, you need to care where Gary Parrish ranks UK in his poll. That needs to be a focal point of your whole life. Also forget the fact that Tyler Ulis wins that game in regulation if he doesn't dribble off his damn foot like my son in his upward games. Learn apostolopolopolous, then get back with us

Yeah, it was. Think maybe he lost focus for a millisecond when he noticed Murray hadn't floated to the corner? Or maybe he was just spent and trying to do too much.

I was pissed because we were robbed. I think we're the better team. We have our issues, but with Willis in the lineup, we can get into the paint on anyone now with our guards.

UofL fan is not fired up for tonight as they would have been with a W Saturday. I expect a very subdued, let's get this over with #L1C4 crowd.

With their schedule picking up hopefully everything spirals out of control for them, and then Pitino steps down, as Matt Jones stated in his post last night.

Helluva game on Saturday. A great learning opportunity. Gotta give some props to Self, that junk triangle and 2 they threw on us once Willis fouled out completely changed the game. Kansas was suspect in the corners all night but Hawkins and Poythress couldn't make them pay.

Very interesting day here in the office as our agency happens to insure the Bluegrass Stockyards. Shew wee.

Feel free to root for whoever you want. I hate Louisville more generally speaking, but considering where each is at right now, I'd prefer a UNC loss.

Frankly, I don't give a flying F if you agree with me. [banana]

Jay Bilas has basically turned into a poor man's Al McGuire on commentary. Al would just come up with 3 points and hammer them into the ground for the entire game, but he had the basketball acumen and charisma to get away with it. Bilas has a tough time communicating his points without sounding like he's way smarter than all of us college basketballs.

He's been institutionalized. It feels like every ESPN guy has been instructed to become a character instead of just being themselves because of the crazy ratings that Stephen A. and Skip Bayless get. The only ones they haven't totally gotten yet are Sean Farnham and Doris Burke.

- Nobody's beaten anybody this year because nobody's good. College basketball is a whole bunch of goofs in 2016. Our dudes keep improving and some weird stuff could happen.

- The other thing about shooting 47 FTs is you can miss a LOT and still not have it matter.

- RE: Triangle & 2 - Bill Self has always kept that defense in his back pocket as a last resort junk defense when an offense is carving up KU's man. They used it on North Carolina in the 2012 Elite 8 to put that game away. Point being, he's got it. If these other SEC teams look at the triangle & 2 as a way to shut Kentucky down, there's a good chance that they'll suck at executing that defense, especially relative to Kansas. There's also a good chance Kentucky won't have 4 dudes foul out.

- Felt a lot like losing at Carolina in December 2010. The takeaways were that we should have won, officiating was pretty lopsided and we should have won anyway, and they absolutely don't want to play us again.

Now just like 2010-11, we still have 5 really tough road games left and we can't botch those.

- How badly does Louisville have to lose for Pitino and their fans to NOT blame the refs? 25? 35? Whatever it is, I hope that's what North Carolina does to them.
