I think Pitino really was planning on leaving after the season and the university and athletic department decided he wasn't going to walk away with clean hands so they imposed this ban on him this season. Pitino is clearly pissed off about this.
Pitino sounds like he just found out an hour ago. Jurich and Ramsey may be playing with fire. Pitino's ego is so big I could easily see him sinking the ship if he feels threatened in the slightest bit

Pitino did not sound like he was on board with this, much less consulted. Looks like a real disconnect.
One year is not enough. 25 years should be the minimum, banner needs to come down, Pitino and Jurich arrested.

What's probably most remarkable to me about this press conference is that the UL administration is telling everybody that the university hasn't even concluded its own investigation, but is electing to implement a self-imposed post-season ban based on initial findings disclosed yesterday. Apparently, UL believes that this shows "decisiveness," but is a transparent PR stunt.
As anybody has dealt with investigative/enforcement bodies would tell you, this should (and probably will) piss off the NCAA.

It's hilarious how those sycophants still bow to demigod Pitino. After all the **** he's put them through, all the embarrassment, the scandals, throwing his players and coaches under the bus with re:media. SMH.
Pitino knows he's done. He thought he had a good chance to beat UK(middle finger incident) and possibly sneak this team into the Final Four(false). That was going to be his way of blocking the inevitable.

UL fan seems to be just as upset over this mole leaking info to Mags as they are about losing their season.
In hindsight, the Louisville win over North Carolina actually makes this that much worse for Card fan. If they had gotten smoked again, they could have written this season off, but a win like that will leave them feeling like the team had turned a corner and could have made a run.
I mean this is really something considering the ******** we've heard from those assclowns since Cal's been here. I mean, really something.
