Starting to understand Cal's approach better. He focuses on the player en route to the NBA. He lets them play the way he projects them at the next level and coaches that way. He doesn't seem to be as concerned about winning games or getting granular with matchups. I'm sure he could if he wanted to. That's more the Mike Krzyzewski approach.
So far loving the fresh approach and Cal's laid back demeanor. He'll get more intense on the bench later.

I just don't understand how every team in the country, except Arkansas, can find players that can shoot from outside. And we look at the zone like it's the 8th wonder of the world.
Maybe just maybe we are still gelling and a little tight playing against a top 10 team in Dallas. I keep repeating myself. We will be just fine. Be patient

Coach Cal said he takes his time putting his team together. We should be much better after the first of the year.
Looks like we are going to see a lot of zone this year.
I don't think Cal is or ever has been lazy. He just takes a different approach to his job. The best guys play for him because he develops them for the NBA. He's won three quarters of his games at the highest level for over 30 years that way. Don't look for him to change now.
Just enjoy watching a bunch of future NBA players develop and play a fun brand of basketball while you can.

Another comical thing I saw was a thread that’s been around a few months and through the summer. They were celebrating Quickley’s contract like he played there and talking about how all the players are Cal’s, nothing to do with UK.

-Props to my boy 80, helped me harvest my first deer. Pretty easy when he has a dope blind you can pull your truck up to and the deer whisperer has 10-12 deer dancing in front of the blind all morning. He basically went out a tied one to a tree while Elmer Fudd took the shot. Even helped me process the whole thing. What a guy. Freezer full of highest quality organic protein central ky has to offer.

This is similar to saying "having a girlfriend who doesn't sleep around on me or berate me in public is so refreshing and has made me the happiest so far".
