I will look at the study but I have a hard time believing it. Tim Calvert - who played at UK as a 5-10 WR for 3 years in the early 90's - used to live down the street from me. He said that the hits in college were on a completely new level. He told me in practice he got hit so hard going over the middle that his eyes went crossed for a while. That doesn't happen in Pop Warner.
My nephew, back in the early 2000's, got popped going across the middle for a catch one game during the first half. He still, to this day, doesn't remember playing the rest of that game.

These Pacers come backs have been incredible. You'd assume if a team is coming back from 7-9 down with less than a minute left the team leading would have stopped scoring, missing shots or free throws or turning the ball over but the Knicks, Cavs, and Bucks all were still scoring during the come back, the Pacers were just flamethrowers from 3.

Kat & OG both missed huge FT’s down the stretch.

Yes, but it's not like it was a 10-0 run to end the game like you would expect being down that much with so little time, they we're still scoring. Advancing the ball after a time out has a lot to do with that but they were all still crazy.

It was a 13-4 run in the last 58 seconds.

I read your post as your youngest was watching us. Which would be a little creepy. I assume you're talking about my youngest.

Brunson is mostly to blame for that loss. 7 turns; many of which were late after the press had worn him down and a terrible last shot in OT that was an air ball.

Brunson is unreal, and obviously Mr Clutch…

…but they rely too heavily on just standing around watching him for *every* key possession when it’s late, often 4-5 in a row. Just to hope he makes yet another ridiculously tough play entirely on his own.

He doesn’t trust his teammates enough, and they know it.

-Tuesday I was in a bathtub with 3 dogs as a F2 tornado came through. Thankfully it was a couple miles south and it appears no one was hurt. Scary **** though as the news wasn't clear where exactly the tornado was. I could hear the golf ball hail hitting the house though.

-I'm glad Shai got the MVP but never forget Quade Green started over him for a good chunk of his one UK season.

-Parking at a grocery store isn't about how close you are to the door. It is how close you are to the cart return. Unless you are a heathen and leave the cart wherever the eff you please then park wherever.

-I've seen Arkansas fans react to losing Fland to Florida with "that's ok our backcourt is loaded." Strange seeing it happen from the outside looking in.

-Memorial Day weekend was always the tits as a kid. Had the whole summer in front of you and at least in my town the local pool opened. Triple E for those in NKY that know.

-My grandpa was in the Knights of Columbus so I got to ride on their float many times in the Dixie Hwy Memorial Day parade. They usually used his old GMC pickup for the float. Downside was not getting candy.

-Speaking my grandpa, he was the best man I've ever known. He was slow to anger and would do practically anything for us. Very mild mannered. I think it was my 5th birthday party and something called him over to the duplex apartments my grandparents owned. My dad said he'd go with him and of course I wanted to go.

As we pull up to the place, some guy was driving down the street in reverse with his door open. I specifically remember asking dad what that guy was doing when he swerved at us and caused my grandpa to hit the brakes hard.

Being the 80s, I didn't have a seat belt on and hit my head on the dash. My dad pulled me from the car, sat me on the curb, asked me if I was OK. Then he proceeded to chase the dude down on foot, pull him from the car and start wailing on him. As my dad tells it, the next thing he remembered was my grandpa pulling him off the guy only to start beating the guy himself. My dad said he sat there stunned at what he was witnessing. Still tells that story to this day.

Anyways, Happy Memorial Day Weekend.

SGA with an all time season.

32.7 PPG, 6.0 APG, 5.0 RPG.

Yes, first UK NBA MVP, Davis was 3rd one season.

Literally up there with Jordan’s best. I hope that he gets a ring.

My card collection will get a nice boost. 😂
SGA was also 5th in the NBA in steals per game. Averaged nearly 2 steals per. Even averaged 1 block per game. Side note : Our boy Cason Wallace was 3rd in the league in steals per game.

I have posted about my Rhodesian Ridgeback / Mastiff mix "Poppy" in the lab / best dog thread. He turned 11 April 24th and had to go to the ER Vet. Anyway, age catching up to him with Arthritis and nerve damage in his back legs. Well Wednesday he wanted to go "bye bye", his ears perk up with those words. So I take him to the park. Leaving the park, he struggles to get back into the truck. Rips 2 toe nails off and bleed all over the seats / carpet of my 4Runner. Never yelped one time. He is a tough ole sumbitch.

OKC in 5. Randle finally struggled in a game. He was very frustrated, and let it get to him. Without him, they would have been out v/s Golden State.

Tough to overcome a choke like the Knicks pulled in game 1. MUST win game 2.

Florida pretty much drove the nail in Carolina's coffin in NHL ECF. Dallas can do the same v/s Edmonton in the WCF. Winning the first two games on the road, hard for the losing team to come back.

Beautiful morning, sunny, 52 degrees, NO RAIN. High of 74 today. BUT, rain coming for Sunday / Monday. WTF ?

Passing along second hand. Go ahead and rip me. I don’t care….

“The information I am receiving from confidential sources is that Fayette County Schools has determined that the 4% increase in property taxes allowed Ivy KRS without having to put it on the ballot will be insufficient to cover the $16 million hole in the budget.

They sense that they can’t risk a successful opposition to a ballot measure. Plus that ballot measure couldn’t happen in time for the budget to be approved.

FCPS strategy now is to double the much broader occupational tax in Fayette County from .5% to 1.0%. It’s expected that this may be introduced and passed by a 3-2 vote at Tuesday’s Board meeting.

That touches many more people than raising the property tax including people who live outside Fayette who work here.”

And for you Louisville peeps, you just got a new superintendent who last Feb his former employer voted to extend his contract through 2027. But, nine months later, it was announced he was retiring, and he signed a non-disclosure agreement with the district and was paid $667,000 in severance. And he’s already vocally championing tax increases in Louisville.
Good luck with him!

The racial makeup of school superintendents in major cities is less diverse than the NBA.

I. Don’t. Care. Maybe you need a hobby outside of reading my posts.

This is what I don’t get…….

You actually do, clearly, and that’s fine honestly but why not take this where the people want it which would be the political thread?

Honestly those dudes would LOVE your addition there and then when you posted you school info here it would be great material as it would be reduced posting about it, I’m assuming.

Just a thought.

Also based on the crooks involved with the school boards and their hiring I am still astonished how they turned on the one governor that didn’t steal from them and put crooked ******** in charge.

Good post, appreciate the dialogue. When I say I don’t care, guess I’m saying I don’t care about people bashing me, but I highly care about how the school system educates our children and how they spend our hard earned money. Feel way too many people today pay 0 attention to their school system and that’s why we have very little accountability in it and those in charge feel they can do absolutely whatever they want.
I suppose I don’t post it in the political thread for a few reasons. First, I don’t look at it necessarily a political topic as in democrats vs republicans. I see it as a wider topic. Could be wrong but feel the political thread is more of pointing fingers at which party is to blame on issues. Again could be wrong but feel a lot fewer people go to the political thread because they don’t want the party blaming talk..already overwhelmed with that in daily tv/radio talk. I feel the gyero thread gets the most visibility, even more so when people bash me to continue the topic. There are often times I’m not interested in a topic posted in gyero or disagree with the take, but I don’t always comment, I just scroll on. So guess I’m often confused when I ruffle peoples feathers with a topic deemed off topic by them in a “random” thread.
