Felt like I was in the minority but I told anyone who asked me that I thought Sovereignty was better than Journalism. That form held.
In all honesty, Sovereignty probably improved off his Derby effort. Impressive talents, both Journalism and Sov.
2009.Fed/roddick had a good one too if I remember correctly…maybe Wimbledon? Too lazy to look it up.
Yes it would have been very interesting watching Sovereignty pull even further away from Journalism with the extra distance. NO, what it would have done was he would have drug his *** for a 9/10 lengths win instead of 2.Adjustments from both would have been interesting to watch had the race been 1 1/2 m.

Unfortunately the buyout is too high and some of the biggest boosters like him.If I’m Mitch….
I go into Eli’s office and say I want to fire stoops immediately.
I will pay his buyout.
I want to hire sumrall now.
I don’t wanna compete for him next year.
I’ll sacrifice ‘25 season bc we were gonna suck anyhow.
We will immediately get fan interest back and start raising $$ for ‘26 season.
Then fire Mitch for the stupid *** contracts he has handed out.Unfortunately the buyout is too high and some of the biggest boosters like him.
That's on Mitch then.Per KSR- By creating a general manager position, they were able to finesse buyout language in his contract at Kentucky, opening the door for the move to finally become a reality.
