-As of Covid, I could still do a round-off backflip. Shoulder makes it scary these days. Well back then it did too, but it was Covid, nothing but seltzers, beach days, and unlimited time with the gang to touch around.

-Can’t imagine suburban life (r/t “close knit neighborhood). Nothing wrong with it I guess just not for me. The idea of living in a neighborhood where you have to drive to go literally anywhere seems like shotgun to the face lifestyle for me. I tried it when I bought my home in Lexington, no siree.
Obviously kids change that perspective but if I can’t walk/bike to get coffee, ice cream, restaurant, cocktail with the missus, the park, live music, etc, that’s definitely not “why we do this” for me anyway.

It’s all about what you’re used to I reckon. After 11 years of being able to bike/walk everywhere with the majority of people not owning cars I couldn’t transition back and really didn’t want to.

I could live where the Schems or 80 do right in town but something like Meadowthorpe in Lexington NFingW.

-Saw Fantastic 4 today with the Florida family. Good, clean, wholesome, fun movie, it was cute and Robert Downey Jr playing Dr. Doom in the next one sounds good to me.

- @Dexterdru71 just hit up Spotify for St Paul & the Broken Bones, Galactic for some funk and jazz or of course Tyler Childers radio is always good with maybe some Charley Crockett, or go for Anna Ashe or Lake Street Dive or Lucinda Williams (total bmf right there) for some female crooners, or the wood brothers for something different.

Happy Gilmore 2 is really something else. I know Adam Sandler hasn’t made anything worth watching in about 20 years but it’s unbelievable that so talented people signed off on this.
Ya know what you’re gettin before ya decide to consume. It’s like fuqin Taco Bell at 1am on a Wednesday. You’re bored. Your brain wants something familiar and good that’ll make ya happy for 90 minutes and past that serves no other redeeming purpose.

Who the hell would want to live in Meadowthorpe?
I don’t know but 10s of 1000s of people do. My point is ANY neighborhood that you have to drive to get out of is a no go for me. I don’t care if it’s a beachside neighborhood or one on a mountain, it’s not for me.

I fell asleep pretty early on while watching it. The jury was still out on it, but it definitely wasn’t good……..yet. Against my better judgement, I’ll finish it at some point.
Adam Sandler has truly lived the American dream. He’s made $$$ millions while not being very funny. His characters are usually very annoying, but he struck a chord with enough people to get very rich. Only in America!!

Having a school, playground, pool, kids classmates, and families at similar life stages within walking/biking distance is more important than bars and coffee shops to the vast majority of 30-40 something’s.

The first half of Happy Gilmore was fine, not a great movie, but not terrible. Everything after the Tour Championship was an abomination.

It often gets crapped on but Ghostbusters 2 is masterpiece compared to 90% of comedy sequels. Its ridiculously hard to replicate a great comedy.

Yes. Rogue claims to be so open-minded / live-and-let-live, but repeatedly posts his adamant, closed-minded opinions; while most people are busy enough with their own lives, families and real career paths to even waste energy arguing with him.

In other words, GOOD FOR YOU, MAN! Now go scurry on with your search for someone - anyone - who gives a **** what you think.

You’d think I didn’t say, “Obviously kids changes that perspective…”

Jesus 😂 century’s hate for me is still 👌 chef’s kiss. Lighten up bubby. If you’re so busy maybe don’t have 20K posts on an off topic UK message board lol. I’ll just keep on riding my bike watching sunsets and hitting the sauna and cold tub, with 2 hour daily workouts, sprinkle in dog walks, beach days on a random Tuesday and weekend trips with the lady at an AirBNB just because we can and have nothing on our schedules ever while not raising kids.

Where do I sign up for the random beach days on a Tuesday and weekend trips with the lady at an AirBNB? (Congrats on the sex!)

<---Lurker, but thought Happy Gilmore 2 was great. It was great as in, some funny callbacks to original, great cameos, nostalgia.
Was the plot dumb? Sure (especially the last "Maxi" event)...but all in all, it was a good watch. I actually watched the original last Monday and thought the 2nd was better than the 1st.🤷‍♂️

Of the things to give Rogue **** about, does a preference for walkable neighborhoods even break top 500 on the list? I'm with him -- aspirationally, at least. We almost bought a house in Midway a few years ago for just that exact reason.

Dude you wouldn't catch so much **** if you didn't TRY too hard to show everyone how great your life is. IF it was that great and perfect, why are you here posting ? Just like Facebook, 80% of your life is FALSE.

Happy Gilmore 2, like Rogue, tried way to hard. Too many obvious intent flashbacks, corny kids, and the cartoon golf at the end killed any chance of being DECENT. It has some nice parts, but then it would destroy any momentum with things that was so stupid.

It takes me half an hour (28 miles) to get to the nearest wal mart.

Same for a Mcdonalds or Wendy's(nuts)

I get a hot lunch at least once a week from the local shell station and every thursday from Hamiltons BBQ.

I also get to jog through the entire length of town and not see a single pride flag or coffee shop.

I do have to see an Isreal flag flying higher than the stars and stripes and cross flag so I guess it all equals out somehow

Are we still brake pumping?

Hell, I will even give him credit. We are witnessing him morphing into the second coming of slap hitting Billy Hamilton. 0 HR and 12 RBI in his last 102 AB's going back to June 23rd. That has to be some sort of record. He still sucks against LHP; is hitting a stellar .218 w/ 2 strikes, and is still the MLB leader in errors. But damn if he won't get a couple of bloop singles tonight, Sadak will scream, PTI will have the OH face, and his jersey will sell out in the Reds team shop.
