Excellent job by the rocket scientist tonight:

- leaves Moreno in down the stretch to get absolutely cooked repeatedly in pick and roll and turn the ball over.

- puts Aberdeen in for defense…. Then doesn’t call timeout to get Lowe in for offense??? For the biggest possession of the game… with 35 seconds left and down 1. With two timeouts remaining. Leads to a second straight turnover and game is effectively over.

- repeatedly doesn’t get into our zone offense until <10 seconds left on the shot clock.

- inexplicable “play” that consisted of us standing around and hoping they’d foul us on the last possession.

- he’s absolutely as garbage on BLOB (on both sides) as Cal was. Cost us again tonight.

Abysmal. This is every bit as bad as Billy Clyde. We are absolutely screwed.

At least we went down swinging with Moreno, Garrison, Aberdeen, and Chandler! Would really suck to lose such an important game at home without our best players on the court in the biggest moments! We’re in good hands, don’t worry. Not like our coach just got absolutely cooked by Dennis Gates (who called his last timeout down 8 with 4:18 remaining) or anything.

Oweh was fine. He sucks in many ways, has basically zero awareness, and is selfish, but that’s about as good a game as you can hope for from him.

Dioubate does nothing except bring useless “toughness” which is wasted on this team. Aberdeen is the definition of a player who just takes up space. This team has about $10-12 million committed to players who give us nothing.

JQ apparently has zero motor, our PG can’t shoot or defend, our 3&D wing can’t shoot unless we’re plyaying a mid major, our coach is in way over his head, etc. Just a bad team that deservedly will not make the tournament.

What an absolutely horrible basketball team.
And is Pope the worst coach in the SEC?
Nobody had this home game as a loss.
Hell you can see the stress on the Pope daughters.

It is only going to get worse.

KY Basketball is irrelevant and there seems to be zero accountability within the Program, University or Athletic Department. The fans initial disdain to the Pope hire was on the money but I doubt anyone thought he would be this bad.

I must admit I was quick to pat myself on the back when I called Pope to KY 2 months before Cal was fired. I am also big enough to admit that, once again, boy was I wrong. He is just lost, over his head, whatever you want to call it.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Pope ends up suffering some kind of breakdown before the season is over. Watching the historic program you love crumble before your eyes and knowing you are responsible has to be taking a heavy toll…

Pope gets the blame on the season overall, but tonight the players were unbelievably bad the last 4:30 in the 2nd half.

we made a run to get to 66-58 and then got beat 15-2 in that stretch.

- Oweh’s effort is dependent upon being the guy. He gives nothing when it’s not his turn.

- Hard to expect JQ to have a motor when we don’t feed the damn post and get him some looks down there. I don’t care what your strategy is when your team is this bad there is nothing wrong with feeding the post 1 out of 5 possessions.

- Aberdeen is a 2nd teamer for a reason and that’s because he can’t make others better. He creates only for himself and rarely see’s the open players around him.

Stop starting the dude.

- If the older guys can’t play smarter I’d just play the younger guys and let them learn. It’s not popular and won’t be pretty but at least I’d get the attention of those not giving effort and get kids experience that need it.

- F this!

Can’t afford the buyout if you wanted to thanks to Mitch/Stoops and even if they bought him out no good coach will come here while Mitch is here.

Need Mitch gone somehow someway and then go after Oats hard.

Doubt Pope would leave on his own after this year. He’d be a better NBA coach than college, perfect spot would be the Jazz

I don’t understand why we don’t switch PNRs more especially when JQ is at the 5.

This is the worst passing team I’ve ever seen (UK or not); BG is the 2nd best passer and that’s not saying much.

Need some bigs that can pass, that you could run zoom through & a few that can spread the floor. Instead we have a group of duplicative bigs that he plays 2 together most of the game it makes us easy to guard.

Oweh’s numbers were fine overall but had a horrific back to back sequence on both ends that let them back in the game late that was well before and in addition to the missed layup and last minute turnover. If he’s your best player you are in a world of hurt. This one is on him imo.

Get guys who fit your system next year or GTFO.

He got extremely lucky that Amari Williams turned out to be an excellent college basketball player with elite vision.

Didn’t hurt that we had one of the best three point shooters any of us will ever see. If we’re being honest, a whole lot of garbage offensive possessions last year got bailed out by Brea drilling a three with a hand in his face.

Pretty much all of his portal acquisitions had their top offensive seasons of their career. Brea didn't shoot as high of a percentage, but he displayed more floor game than he ever did at Dayton.

This team, on the other hand, is, well a different story. They have been worse than his BYU teams.

Oweh is a stat stuffer so if you just look at the box scores it will appear that he had a good game. However if you watch the little things he doesn’t do well, or at all, he is a bum. He takes too many plays off, he doesn’t go after loose balls, he can be selfish on O, he doesn’t make the right play when it is needed most and to be honest his body language sometimes is just awful. He reminds of this kid when I was playing elementary basketball ball. He was the best player on his team and would score a bunch of points, which is only what he would do, but his team sucked and they always lost.

If that is supposed to be your best player then no wonder there is an attitude problem among the team.

Was shocked to check the box score this morning and see Mo Diabetes with only three turnovers. Could have sworn that dude threw the ball away or lost it at least 10 f’ing times. He was awful last night. Maybe I’m just thinking of how many times he falls down every game.

Vandy is f’ing 15-0. I don’t even know who tf their coach is.
