Black was the weakest part of Tropic Thunder by a lot. I would have gotten Philip Seymore Hoffmann or someone for that role.
The role was written for Nick Swardson and his Terry character from Reno 911, but he was already committed to Zohan.

Jack Black is one of those comedian/actors/famous people whose success is entirely built around just trying to act as stupid, outlandish, and ridiculous as possible and praying anyone will actually laugh. The problem is, he's not even remotely funny.

In fact, Family Guy had a brilliant bit about this in regards to another similar actor.....

Jack Black was good in High Fidelity, some early 00s comedy movie with Tom Hanks kid that I liked, saving Silverman, Nacho Libre, school of rock, Mario Bros, just did a good hit me baby one more time remake, has a good voice, doesn’t seem to take himself too seriously, etc. So ya, I’m a fan of his.

Wife making ALL the plans for Napa for Labor Day in between our other 1 million plans (think we’re going to a beach in Delaware next week?) she’s trying to get a reservation for The French Laundry which appears to be like getting a ticket for a Taylor Swift Concert on Ticketmaster. Ridiculous amount of wineries. Looks fun I guess but a little overwhelming, especially considering we’ll probably be wine drunk with no clue what’s going on by 2PM everyday

-Lmk if you need a driver/chaperone/bull for your West coast trip.

Judith Love Cohen helped create the Abort Guidance System that helped rescue the Apollo 13 astronauts. She had to leave work one day because she was going into labor. She brought along a printout of a problem she was working on and called in the solution from the hospital. The child she gave birth to was Jack Black.

Wow. I take it back.

He's very, very funny.

Ron Mehico - If you want to get away from the "winery" snobs for a couple of hours, and just have a nice strong drink, in a no nonsense dive bar in Napa. Head to 2955 Solano Ave and hit up The Green Door Bar. Great little dive. Been around since 1961

He was part of one of the great UK D-Lines with Caudill, Dewayne Robertson, and Ellery Moore. Dave Ragone was absolutely destroyed by that bunch.

Jack Black gets props for Tropic Thunder, High Fidelity and two roles on "Mr. Show" in the "Jeepers Creepers. The Musical" and the traveling salesman, farmers daughters musical number. That's the list.

80 - Have you read ZATAOMM before? Or did you just purchase like an heirloom copy?

If you haven't read it, knowing you, you'll dig it.

And he is already planning to skip the Austin throw down.

No planning about it. I'm out.

We've got a race that day (one we're producing). If it's any consolation, it's a pretty simple 5k/half marathon, but with a "craft beer rodeo" afterwards, featuring 7 or 8 local breweries.

Rather be in Austin, but yeah.

I hate to break it to you all, but you're officially "too old for Austin" now. LOL

10 years ago, you might have been able to "pass", but that window has closed.

I have not, and I'm very much looking forward to it.

It was one if Bret Bearup's favorite books, so I had it on my list and it went on sale.

B.Money, hopefully you got him some actual smoking gloves.

Padre, hillbillies always have that look from the coal dust stains of hard working Appalachians.

Took a friend out cat fishing the other night for his first time. Baited with a 7-8” shad and he said I thought you used liver or worms. About 15 minutes later he was battling a 30 pounder. It’s still funny to this day watching someone get their butt kicked and freaking out while trying to land their biggest fish. Especially when they haven’t fished much or fought one on a boat.

One of my buddy's died Monday from complications from a lung biopsy. Same guy that had the tumor that went away overnight awhile ago. He was living clean, golfed everyday, great family man. Warm, receptive dude that always came up to you to say hi and see how you're doing. Always enjoyed his company and will miss him dearly.

Rip, brother.

Erik Daniels flashbacks.
The 2003 vibes are strong with this bunch. We don't have any future All-Stars but it is reasonable to think that every one of our scholarship players will at least make the G-League or equivalent. Most importantly, this is just a rugged squad full of interchangeable pieces.

Daddy likey.

Is LaMont Butler out for some reason? I didn't notice him in the scrimmage and every clip they've posted so far has Kerr running the point.
