Everytime I welcome Mark Stoops back into my good graces after I write him off and fire him, he makes me look like a dumbass.

To hell with it, he’s the perfect embodiment of this entire program. Build the statue. He is the personification of the history of this uninspiring, ****-fueled program.

I'm pretty much through watching UK football (one of the best decisions I've ever made BTW) , but I did look at the box score. How in the hell did we lose this game? Outgained them, more first downs blah blah blah. Losing to Vanderbilt at home? Shameful...

Any chance we can get rid of Stoops? Nobody is going to be dumb enough to hire him, but we ARE on probation, so is THAT a way out?

I'm sure there is more I've forgotten about.

So, fire him for cause. And go get Sumrall*

*(that seems to be the person everyone wants here. I'm no football, so I have no idea if he's all that or not, but many on here are convinced that he is the real deal. Any other SEC school, would already be contacting coaches, RIGHT f***ing now. But we're not REALLY SEC in football, and in fact, we're getting ready to fall even FARTHER behind. We'll get loads of money though. yippeee. much like MAC teams get fat checks to lose to Power 5 teams every year.)

Bring on basketball.

I like DSK, but giving him twice as many touches as the next highest offensive skill player is Cal-esque mismanagement. He averaged the fewest yards per carry and second fewest yards per catch. I mean he is OKAY, but he is like our 4th or 5th best weapon, yet we lean on him like he’s effing Randall Cobb.

Wilcox averaged 12 yards per carry and all three of his carries were longer than DSK’s longest (9 yards). Yet DSK gets 5x the touches. Coming into the game, the scouting report on Vandy’s defense was that they were prone to giving up rushing explosives. But our explosive runner barely gets the ball.

And what the hell has happened to Maclin? Has he even had a target in the last month?

That said (by you), then what in the actual bloody ****ing hell do you LOVE about him?

I like that despite this awful loss, which is pretty standard historically, I know this team will fight next week, and will do so in the games we should lose like Texas and UT.

I know this devil and while frustrated I remember 2 weeks ago beating Ole Miss.

Now I’m not saying anything about Sumerall, but be careful what you ask for because not everyone can recruit to UK so more important than Stoops is Vince Marrow. Which to further my point about what I like about Stoops is that he comes with Vince.

Coaches get the results/behavior they demand. If the players act stupidly, it's on the coaches. No way around that.

To me it came down to about five plays:
  • Fumble on our WR
  • Motion on the goal line
  • Missed FG attempt
  • Missed XP attempt
  • Holding call on last drive
Do I think Stoops has the offense where it needs to be? Hell no.

But I think the players f'd up a lot tonight when they shouldn't have.

Keys 15 yd penalty for shoving a Vandy DB in the helmet with a football. Killed the first drive.

I’ve seen a lot of losses in the 90’s, 00’s, and 10’s where we were arguably the worst team in P5.

Frankly, he’s got us to a level, where I never thought we could get to, as average as that seems.

We’ve played in 4-5 warm weather bowl games.

For the record, think his performance this year, and the last 2-3 years has been way below expectations. I think both sides could benefit from a change. However, 2014-2021 was about as fun as it’s ever been for UK football.

Of the 16 teams in the SEC, UK has given up the 4th fewest points.

Of the 16 teams in the SEC, UK is dead last in points scored.

Of the major conferences (SEC, Big 10, ACC, Big 12), only Stanford, Florida State, UCLA, Michigan State, and Houston have scored fewer points than UK.

If mediocre football is your thing, then Stoops has the patent on it. He caught lightning in a bottle 2 years, and otherwise has been a disaster....from team discipline to the same mistakes game after game to second half season collapses and so forth. His 19-27 SEC record the last 6 yrs inc. this season is definitely statue worthy. On and off the field he has been a clown show.

The Ole Miss game was an anomaly...one fluke play, a missed FG, and a lucky bounce got them the W, nothing more. They didn't "beat" anyone, and yet, people wanted them to be ranked afterwards.

There are warm weather bowl games the entire bowl season....does that stand for something if you get to one?

Post of the year.

It’s puzzling to me how these insane buyouts are never litigated. We owe this fat slob tens of millions of dollars, unless we term him for cause. So let’s term him for cause. And then let him sue. The litigation in the trial court would take a couple years, at least. In the meantime, at some point, he would settle for far less than the buyout. He’s not going to trial with as many skeletons as he has in his closet.

I suppose athletic departments are loathe to litigate these things for the same reason - all the internal dirty laundry would get air dried in discovery. But we employ a righteous and Christian man as our AD - so is there even any dirty laundry to worry about here? Roll the dice, terminate the ********** for cause. Now - this morning. Misfeasance, nonfeasance, incompetence, ineptitude, sloth, gluttony, lechery. He’s a sack of **** failure.

Complete poop down their leg performance all around.

Last drive, plenty of time, Hamdan thinks he needs to throw it 40 yards downfield when Vandy left middle range passes there for the taking.

Vanderbeek’s a dud. No pocket presence, terrible decision making, inability to go through progressions. Try Wimsatt. He may not have all the tools but may have something that works in games whereas BVD’s physical traits don’t translate to games. Nothing to lose.

Defense, our history of letting a mobile qb run all over us remains intact.

I suppose a lot of this wouldn't matter if we weren't paying top 10 money for top 40-50 results.

I don't care if Sumrall can't recruit a lick, Stoops in year 13 with every advantage under the sun just lost at home to Vanderbilt who has a second year coach and definitely didn't have better players. If Sumrall's our coach last night, that doesn't happen.

One other thing, there's a lot of talk about promoting Brad White if Stoops leaves this year. Whoever is stoking that fire, kindly remove yourself from Kentucky football fandom. White's so conservative that he gives UKO the ick. The man would have us finding new and exciting ways to make every game 13-3 until we play actual big boy teams then it's 31-3.

You can't blame the players last night because they exist within a culture that has persisted for 13 years. If this team was unique in the fact that they make boneheaded plays, untimely penalties, etc. etc. then you could easily make that argument. At this point I have to wonder if Mark had those things bullet pointed in his "presentation" that wooed Milquetoast into opening the war chest for him. It's a hallmark of a Mark Stoops team: we will play stupid, conservative, inefficient football. Sometimes our opponent will too, and we'll win as a result. Often times they won't and that's why Vanderbilt and UK have the same amount of wins at Commonwealth since 2022.

Fire this clown now.

Why the hell do some of you keep applying the same standards of Kentucky football in 2008 to 2024 where we have 10 times the amount of money invested, the university brings in 10 times the money, and the coach is paid 10 times as much. I mean no **** we sucked in 2008, remember that photo that used to circulate back in the day of our “recruiting room” which was a projector in the corner of nutter field house? And what’s funny is we had teams that really didn’t have that much worse of a record then we have now. I mean at some point we should be able to have somewhat higher standards with such a greater investment in the program.

I never would’ve imagined in a million years seeing an atmosphere like that for Kentucky vs. Vanderbilt in football. Ever. I mean, the fans brought it AGAIN. And once again, the bastards took a fat **** on all of our chests at home.

I really think I might be done with tailgating and tickets unless we have Sumrall on the sidelines next Labor Day.

^ cfb is awesome Ive chased it my entire fandom as a UK football fan the sad reality is we have a nice little program (sometimes) but we just aint it. 10 hours of setting up the tailgate, cooking and until the bitter end of that clown show last night. I guess its not a waste of time but the results sure feel like it.

How much would it be worth to you as a 19-year old 4 star to play in that environment? Like if UK offered you $150K and LSU offered you $110K plus that would you go?

Continuity is huge. If we could’ve kept that 2021 staff in tact for a few seasons, things would look a lot different. Hell, I’d rather have a 3rd year Scangarello over 1st year Bush.

If Key and Brown are this team's leaders, we play exactly like our leaders. Some nice flash, I guess, but ultimately just a bunch of talk.
They mirror their unhinged, lunatic HC.

A perfct example is Stoops' challenge of the Pavia fumble. He first somehow managed to stop the game, and I can't understand why the ref even indulged him. Then he blew a timeout on a play that was already reviewed.

Stoops is an anxious, self-doubting loser. He has no business coaching a SEC team.
