Hey playoff committee, let's pay more attention to the conference level of difficulty.

Another crappy game of shooting today and I will be officially concerned we are not athletic enough to get off good looks against athletic defenses.

Man the SEC is going to be an absolute grind. Perhaps the hardest grind any of us have ever seen.

The only difference between Sumrall and the rest of whoever the candidates could be is that he may not be willing to leave.

That said if he had any real success he’d be stupid to stay here because eventually he’ll have a 2-3 season run just like Stoops has and our fans are so fickle they’ll turn on him too.

That’s the one thing Sumrall hasn’t proven he can handle which is adversity so sticking around at Tulane gives him a chance to do so.

Good to see you last night, Adam. Was fascinating to see the dynamic change between the first show and the late show. First show...95 percent packed, and that crowd was HOT. Ready to laugh at anything, made me feel like a million bucks. Some of Derrick's punchlines blew the roof off the place. It felt like when a big 3 is splashed down at Rupp. Crazy fun.

Between shows, we hung out in the green room. I try to be quiet and deferential to Derrick and Matt, because I know some comics who get annoyed when the local comic tries to chat them up before/between shows and break their prep rhythm, but the two were very talkative last night, and couldn't have been nicer. Nate texted Derrick while we were sitting there talking. Won't lie, that was pretty surreal.

The Rickey Henderson/John Olerud story is an all-timer for me.

In spring training 1999, Rickey Henderson of the Mets was reunited with first baseman John Olerud, who had been his teammate with the Blue Jays six years earlier. As most people know, Olerud had an aneurysm in college, which required brain surgery. So to protect his head, he was allowed to wear a helmet in the field. As the story goes, Henderson was talking to Olerud one day, noticed the helmet and said “You know, when I played in Toronto, we had a guy who wore a helmet.”

“Rickey,” said Olerud, “that was me.”


The story being totally made up hasn't changed my opinion, either.

How grateful are for Rich Brooks and his 16-40 SEC record?

No other coach at KY in my life has had the success Stoops or Brooks had so no one else to really compare to except the imagination of what the next coach will do.
