* IIRC, the "going to the monitor" nonsense all started with the (pretty irrational concern) around hands/arms/elbows to the face. The most egregious example of this is the 1980s/Bill Laimbeer-style act of hauling in a rebound, holding the ball up high with your elbows out and swinging them wildly to clear out space.
* Reds offseason chatter........
- GABP is the best park for Gavin Lux. Looking at his 30 careers home runs, he'll get a bigger bump in that stat playing in GABP than any other stadium.
- Randall Grichuk is out there just waiting to be signed by the Reds. Make it happen.
- the biggest unfilled need that doesn't seem to be getting any attention is the bullpen. Right now it's fine. Not great. Just fine.
- the starting rotation has a chance to be very special. at this point, Rhett Lowder might not even have an everyday spot. That's re-dick.
* Just got my first ever review on Google, and it was a 1-star. Totally eviscerated. In my defense, this gal I did business with weighs about 250 (post-Ozempic), and is a "digital creator" who also sets up speed dating events. Complete see-you-next-Tuesday. I was ecstatic when she moved on and found another agent to work with this year. And when it all shook out, I believe my total commission haul from working with this big ole broad was about $150. Ugh.
* Basketball season is great, because there's always something going on. These cold ***, dreary, sun-goes-down-at-5pm nights just hit different when you're home on the couch watching tv, drinking brown water and eating high fructose corn syrup while watching some roundball.
* Lass went down a rabbit hole and is all in on de-toxifying our house. No more hazardous chemicals. And on top of that, we're cutting out all GMOs, and sourcing clothing from brands that are more socially and environmentally responsible and sustainable.

I'm no expert on climate science, firefighting, water distribution, or the UFC, but I think these comments are pretty profound. Until radical changes are made in the way we build houses, building, and cities, these "natural disasters" are just going to keep on happening and there isn't much you can do about it.
