* My baby boy heads to the vet today to get his first heartworm shot. He's an anxious/energetic little dude, so trying to keep him calm the next few weeks as he recovers will be quite an uphill battle.

* The Chicago Cubs are in dead last place. Reds with a 1 game lead already.

* The Barn: The Secret History of a Murder in Mississippi (Wright Thompson). Anyone? I like this guy's work.

* Can you imagine Will Wade at IU?

My god, man. That school just doesn't even try anymore. It reminds me of the early 2000s, when Miami AD Donna Shalala intentionally sabotaged the football program. Just go ahead and admit you don't want to win. #footballschool

* Tomorrow is mostly going to involve hanging out at the neighborhood sports bar, or the Fairgrounds sportsbook. What a day to be alive.

* I really wish the Reds would move on from Stuart Fairchild. Dunn and Hurtubise are better options for your 4th/5th outfielder, as is Will Benson.

* Who makes the best ultra lightweight pants that actually look kinda dressy these days?

Who made this guy's mix tape? The first couple of plays he was just making wide open layups. I could have made those shots. You gotta spice it up at first to get some excitement going.

- Word is IU administration is too woke to hire anyone you’d suspect they should, and because of that in that state they don’t get near the NIL support they should so they are stuck hiring these type of coaches.

- UK is the smallest favorite as a 3 seed at 10.5 where all others are at -17 or more.

I don’t really care because Troy is a slow it down type of team so it will be an interesting contrast of styles, but we are winning.

What some UK fans need to be worried about is the looking ahead to UT and not focusing on the 2nd round like our guys should. I hope that is not an issue.

- This looks like a chalky tournament which has mostly proven in history is when most upsets happen.

- Are play in games an advantage for those teams? I think it is.

- Cubs 0-2 against the Dodgers in Japan. Well I’m a cup half full kind of guy so that means since I see them as a .500 club we’ll have a winning record the rest of the way.

- Finally got the C.O. For my building at the distillery. Time to submit an application to the feds to bond it to my filing and start construction on the gift shop and ordering distilling equipment.

Only 22 months after getting the original approval for a distillery.

What a process.

Yep. Woke. The official downfall of Indiana basketball.
It's a retarded mindset that has no profitable basis in business outside of government subsidies.

Just be a good steward and things will work out. No need to flex your virtue, trying to let everyone know how equitable you are.

Be good, don't waste resources telling people that you're good.

- Yeah, Krazy....that ain't it.

- I do think there's an air about IU (and other Big Ten programs) that make them think they're too good to hire Beard, Wade, etc. They want to do things THE RIGHT WAY, etc. But that's not about being woke. That's just about being pretentious.

- DeVries will do fine.

- Stopped for a quick dinner last night after my set at Louisville Comedy Club. Never seen Jagger's mentioned in here, but that place's fries are unreal.

- These MLB games in Japan are baseball's version of the Dayton games. They "count", but only kinda.

- Happy Westwood One Week, fellas. Why we do this.

The sanctimony is just so unbelievably funny. Will Wade was caught on tape bragging about making a "STRONG *** OFFER," in a sport where every school in America now has an NIL pot to openly recruit and pay players. Bruce Pearl got busted having a grill out at his house, and lying about it. Kelvin Sampson literally made too many phone calls.

Stand on your moral high ground, ADs!

Don't any of these bozos realize that things that coaches got in trouble for just a few years ago are now openly practiced and encouraged??

(don't answer that)

-I have a nice mix of Mack Weldon, Ten Thousands, Peter Millar, BYLT and Rhoback athleisure wear. Nice variety of styles and weight.

-Be nice to have a few guys that can hit the bunnies. This season we have to be shooting better from 3 than bunnies. He seems to fit the bill.

-Back in the day I'd spend hours on my bracket. Today it took me less than 10 minutes to finish 3. 5 of that was dealing with pop up offers and CBS trying to get me to fill out a girls bracket. Heck Off, CBS.

-The astronauts coming home was badass. Dolphins there to great them. So cool.

-Prime cycling season. Something on basically every morning. Love it as background noise.

-CBB is certainly a mess behind the scenes but the on court product is getting better. Really, just clean up the reviews and it's in a great spot. Would love to see quarters as well.

-F*ck IU. End of story. Indiana is basically North Mississippi.

Not saying it’s right or wrong, but I’m not surprised to hear that considering the faculty voted 93% no confidence against their president before the board forced her in place.

No clue if there is a way to research NIL pools or dollars to see what IU is working with but if boosters are withholding money it sounds similar to how ours started doing the same as Cal burnt bridges.

IU just had a top 3 portal class. Some say the #1. NIL support isn't the issue. They've just made a number of awful hire and now they're in an era of CBB where having the pressure of a blueblood isn't necessary to get paid or recruit/portal.

UK passed on Beard, Pearl and Wade... and probably Oats, or at least didn't make him a priority. I don't think it's a woke thing at all. It's pompous ********. Do you want to win? If so hire the best coach.

I don't know what NIL budgets are currently for programs like UK. But let's say it's $5M for basketball. Let's also say your budget for a coach is $6M. Would you be better off hiring a real up-and-comer for $2M and directing that remaining $4M to NIL? I kind of feel that's what Florida did.

For us it's 7-10 million for next year, allegedly.

I love how Matt says, “No, Pitino is not the greatest college basketball coach of all time, it’s K or Wooden,” then names a whole bunch of **** that no college basketball coach has ever done before.

Wooden’s ‘ships are bought/a fraud, everyone knows that.

K…okay, whatever. But he did everything at one place.

Make a point then literally contradict everything you just said. 🤦🏻‍♂️

Like anything, there is generally a threshold you need to reach to be competitive. But after you reach that, the returns on going further get smaller and smaller.

If we truly have $10 million next year, I'm not at all concerned about Indiana or anyone else having a couple extra million.

It's hard to fathom but I believe K wasted more talent than Cal did during the heavy 1 and done runs of the mid teens. The fact that he couldn't get to the final four (or win his conference) with Zion Willaimson, Cam Reddish and RJ Barrett should be studied.

Pope showed this year he is a great talent evaluator and developer, and enjoys putting together a cohesive unit. So I’m really not that worried about it. He has a very moneyball style which is basically predicated on getting good under the radar players due to being at a smaller program and he’s at Kentucky.

Spending 15 million on college basketball players seems like a bad investment to me.

Rack! And I’ve yet to find anyone explain to me the incentive to offer NIL money as there is no studies to what the ROI is.

So basically you just have enough profits you don’t mind pissing some away to support a college basketball team, or it doesn’t make sense.

Then on the business side if I was an employee of said donor/booster I’d be disgruntled almost immediately as I’m sure those profits could also help employees with some kind of raise instead.

Then add to ALL that there is only 1 year offers basically and I’ll be damned if I could ever wrap my head around WTF is actually happening.

It's pretty nice to have a rocket scientist as a coach. He's not just throwing huge numbers at whoever everyone else says is good, so it's unlikely we ever end up as one of those schools with a 15 million-dollar NIL and an NIT. He's strategic, finds fits for his system and our culture, and spends what is needed.

Companies have been using Coach or Athlete endorsements as long as they've been around. If the employee doesn't understand why advertising is an important part of business, maybe they should find a different industry.

It’s for people that have “F U” $$ who also are die hard fans of their athletic programs. Seems at some point there will be a “why are we spending stupid amounts of $$” realization but I think we are years away from it.

Agbim looks really promising but I have zero clue about his on-ball defensive capabilities. I’d love a healthy season of a Butler clone added to the Johnson/Lewis perceived athletic/quickness backcourt upgrade.
