If you think you're having a bad day, it's alleged that Mark Sanchez attacked a Doordash driver last night in Indianapolis, was pepper sprayed and ultimately stabbed resulting in surgery and (temporarily) being in critical condition.

Oh, and rumors are that he may be arrested when he is released from the hospital. That's a real life butt fumble if I've ever seen it.

In better news, New Waylon album dropped yesterday. Two more to come. I listened to it on my way down to Gulf Shores on the Waylon takeover on Outlaw Country 62. Pretty solid album 23 years post mortem. All unreleased material that was found by Shooter in a storage room.
Hoss is on the Mt. Rushmore of country music. 💯

- I’m just watching to see Cutter grow at this point. I’m all for Law, Maclin and McGowan to get touches but I’m ready to see Miller, Quisenberry and Patterson too.

- I’ll continuing cheering on my team and hope for wins, and I’ve done it since Pookie Jones and Moe Williams so I ain’t stopping now. At this point it’s no reflection as to whether I want Stoops fired or not.

- I’ll eat crow on Vandy. Still tho, F them!

- Was Carson Beck this good at UGA? Maybe he just wasn’t asked to do the things he is doing at Miami. Shew wee!

- Cubs have to get 1 today or it’s over. Hate to say that but Wrigley has been kind to opposing teams in the playoffs.

- the process for transferring one’s rivals account to on3 is obscure and, in my case, involved resurrecting at least one hotmail.com account, but I bravely forged ahead and (I think) completed the ordeal.

- typically I post only about basketball analytics and birdwatching, but given the dearth of activity lately hopefully nobody minds.

- what else can be said about UK football? As many have pointed out, we’ve gone full circle. Kind of depressing in an era where the gulf between the haves and have-nots is wider than ever.

- presented without comment: Tennessee Tech is 5-0 and won yesterday 66-10.

- re: basketball; I could not be more excited about the group of players we have. There are teams with more top end talent, but nobody is as deep, and in the SEC that is more important than ever.

Apologies if somebody else already had this take and I missed it, but watching the NBA finals this year, I kept thinking about how our team could function like that Pacers one. Even when OKC could put out the 3 most talented players on the court at any given time, the Pacers were right there with them through a combination of guys filling their roles, execution, and coaching. BTW, I loved that team and really think they would’ve won if not for the Halliburton injury.

Every weekend following from here until Spring should have something (Halloween weekend the scrimmage against Georgetown is Thursday) UK basketball related and it can't get here soon enough. Football, just nothing that can really be said that hasn't been said.

Barnhart really needs to go because proactive is not his leadership style. The bar with Mitch is that if he likes you, results be damned, and he'll keep you until it affects his ability to do his job. If he doesn't like you, then all bets are off. Add in the.worst contracts in NCAA history and he needs to be shown the door. He's been here 25 years and has somehow assumed this "AD for Life". He was brought in as the outsider antidote to the corrupt Good Ol' Boy Network of Ivy, Newton, Hagan, Lancaster, etc. which I don't want either but athletic Caesar is not the answer.

I usually prefer politicians stay out of athletics but I would like to see the governor and/or the legislature find out the how and why the Board of Trustees and the university president approved the Stoops and Cal contracts that Mitch presented them. Where is there oversight? Maybe we need to need a "Lower Level Seat" guy to crawl up their a$$ and report on every misdeed.

In the meantime though, that's not going to fix football anytime soon.

• I hope everyone’s weekend is better than Mark Sanchez’s. It’s quite an achievement to be maced, stabbed and still be the guy in the wrong and arrested.
I’ve been really drunk lots of times and realize that things could have went sideways more than they did, but if drinking makes you act like that report says, it might be time to go to rehab and call it a day.
• Down here on the Gulf of America almost embarrassed to put any UK stuff on. Thanks Mark Stoops! 😥
• These fools don’t even understand the pain that Mark Pope’s Wildcats are getting ready to inflict on them. (Nor do they care)
• 5 From Waylon—

2. Wurlitzer Prize
3. Dreamin My Dreams
4. I Can Get Off On You

• I’ll have more time to post than usual this week, so my apologies in advance. In the famous words of OZZY— “I Love You All!” (Except a few)

The issue for me on football is that it isn’t so broken it can’t be fixed like when Brooks took over. We have some talent and quite a bit of it is younger which we aren’t seeing and that’s a good thing.

Basically what I’m admitting, and it is not fun doing this, it’s the coaching……….. point blank period.

Against UGA and Kirby Smart who is the closest thing to Stoops in wanting to run and play defense we literally went with a 3man front for at least 75% of the game and played zone behind it. I mean it might as well been Bill Curry in the prevent defense trying to stop a last minute game winning drive, only this dumbass did it all game!

-I don't think much has changed with his actual in game coaching. It's always been suspect. The biggest change seems to be no one actually gives a f*ck over there. When he had it rolling we were mean m*therf*ckers. Everyone bought in, we hit hard, were good to great in the trenches, and ran the ball down your throat. We had an edge. We might not have won but the other team felt it.

The buy in from coaches and players seems to be long gone. There's no unity, no identify. Pretty understandable when you had a revolving door of coaches and the head coach taking/getting denied a different job. It's very obvious he's being held captive in a job that he has no interest in other than he has a 36 million dollar buyout PLUS 10 million per year. Quite the conundrum. We don't want him here, he doesn't want to be here, we can't afford to fire him and he can't afford to leave. Lol.

If he thinks Saturday, the first time he's actually felt a warm seat, was bad... wait a month from now when UT, Vandy, UF and Texas have all beat the dogsh*t out of us. Those teams don't have Kirby over there taking his foot off the pedal in the 3rd Qtr. UT and Vandy will try to beat us by 100 if possible.

-Mark Sanchez story is the most bizarre thing I've ever read. What on earth was that guy on?

Wanna make money? Fade this and you should be able to pay your mortgage. My bets on todays game:
UK UNDER 14.5
UNDER 48.5
UK +21.5
As Meatloaf once said "one out of three ain't bad". Oh wait. The hook killed you from being 3-0 and got you the one win. Hooks are a MFer. I know the feeling, lost a 5 player prop last night and cost me $400 big ones. Stevenson RB for NE over 13.5 receiving yards is the ONLY one to not hit. He ended up with 13.

Barnhart needs to go as well.
Ridiculous contract for Stoops.
Calipari's was at least somewhat justified by a national title and final fours.
4 wins is not happening.

The lack of accountability and apparent don't-give-a-**** attitude all the way up the chain, through Mitch, through Eli and all the way across the BoT is just not acceptable.

What's maddening is that most the BoT are political appointments, so mere gross incompetence in ratifying coaches' contracts is not going to make the slightest splash or have any effect whatsoever.

As has been said, UK is not serious about its football program. But hey fans - PONY UP!

- Just catching up on the NFL and Emari Demancardo what an idiot. Not only did that fumble at the goalline cost them TD in the end it cost them the game too.

It’s probably been 2 decades ago that raised attention to that stupid fumble across the goal line and you’d think these players wouldn’t have to be told, but here we are.

- I listen to Cowherd a lot so I can’t wait for them to have Sanchez on as he is a regular for that show.

- I haven’t had a feel yet for this gambol season. I’ve made a few in game bets here and there but I’ve mostly lost on the season.

Tonight I’m fairly confident the Jags smoke KC.

Mitch needs to stop playing chicken with Piglet. Just pick one of the dozens of violations to fire him with cause.
Name some....Taking doggie bags home from Ruby's? Wearing ill-fitting clothes? What?

Breeders Cup, then basketball, need to get through this 6 week swing.

I mean Sanchez does all of this because of a parking space ? That is bad enough but then the young thirty-something former pro football player get murked by a 69 year old truck driver. That alone should get his *** arrested. Trying to be a bad asss and attack a dude 30 years your elder, then get put in the hospital by said 69 year old truck driver, no wonder he didn't cut it in the NFL. Time to put the bottle down and take a long, cold, hard look in the mirror for Sanchez.

He's lucky the truck driver pepper sprayed him instead of shooting his drunk ***.

Before this the guy was known for diving into his offensive lineman’s butt(edit because we can’t say ***) and fumbling the football which led to a recover and TD for the opposing team.

This legit is on par for Mark Sanchez and things I believe are just normal for him.

I'm not sure UK is even accountable to this state any more in any capacity. Whatever the hell they are doing over there seems to have at best a tangential relevance to what fans (and Kentuckians in general) want. Rather, it seems like a greedy parasite trying to suck every nickel from its host before the host dies.

I've had it up to here with all of them. Barnhart got lucky with the Cal contract. He needs to fire Stoops, fall on his sword and quit, and we need new leadership at the top and at HC.

They all sound like Charlie Brown's mother when they talk.

The images of Sanchez's victim are horrific. That laceration in his face went through his cheek and hit his tongue.

Sanchez may actually get jail time for this. Expect a rehab announcement, something about giving glory to God to become a better man and a hefty civil suit in the near future.

What's even more bizarre about Sanchez is that he wasn't in a car that was competing for a parking space with the other guy. He was just running down an alley drunk and got mad at the guy just trying to do his job.

Is Sanchez known for being a drunk? Because he claims he has no recollection of the entire thing. Doing what he did at age 38 is what complete drunks do.

Several years ago I had an old HS buddy who was shot and killed by his girlfriend’s dad after allegedly going after him. My buddy was about 6-3 and 300+. The only two witnesses were the dad and girlfriend and he got off on self defense.
Don’t mess with old/older people because they’re not going to take an a** whooping and they’re liable to kill you instead.
