JQ isn’t going to hit the ground playing 20 minutes a night. It’ll probably be around 10 minutes a game at first. After that, it’s got to be about matchups and who’s playing better on that particular night. Foul trouble will come into play at some point as well.Inevitably guys will have bad nights and get less minutes. Maybe a guy gets hot and you ride him as long as you can.
Ultimately, I think Pope is always going to stick to his hockey shifts with his groups because of the amount of effort he expects. I'd imagine JQ coming back hurts Moreno more than BG, but they will all get their shot.
I expect a lot of rust out of JQ at first as he’s trying to get back to his peak conditioning level along with overcoming the mental aspect of it.
What a great problem to have as we have become accustomed to being short a player or two over the last several seasons. I hope that Pope can keep them all happy and we build that championship cohesiveness that’s so important in March (and April).
