I'm normally pretty meh to sports writer complaining... but I can't stand it when they ***** about the location of their free seats. So you had to sit in the glassed in midcourt first row of the upper at Rupp? Sorry man.

Completely tone deaf.

The more replays I see of the Super Bowl interception, the more apparent it becomes that Malcolm Butler knew exactly what the play was going to be as soon as he saw how the Seattle receivers lined up. When the ball was snapped, he immediately ran right to where the pass was going to be - with no hesitation at all.

Yeah, it was a dumb call to throw in that situation, but it was also an incredibly aware play by the DB.

Yup, I'd give anything to be in the ACC, B1G, or Big 12. The SEC depresses me. Hell, I'd even be down with going indy in fball and join the new Big East. I just don't want to watch another minute of SEC bball. It's brutally boring and does absolutely nothing for us. If we never played another SEC team again in bball, I wouldn't even notice.

From the USA Today leading up to last year's tournament. I know a lot of you are watching North Carolina vs. Virginia and the charge at the end of the half, so here's this from last year, posted again.

"You have a completely selfless 6-foot-10, 270-pound kid (Chris Otule) who will
rotate over and stand in front of a guard and fall down," Marquette
assistant Brad Autry said. "He will take it directly in the chest. And
because you want more scoring, you are going to discourage that? That's a
good rule?"

"He has gotten some calls, but it's frustrating. Don't
modify the charge-block rule. That is what college basketball is about.
That is why people watch it instead of the NBA."

This is the entire problem.

Brad Autry needs to be taken out and shot for saying such horse ****.

Yup, let's reward the unathletic cheese curd filled plodding honky for sliding his fat *** over and falling.

It's gotten way out of control.

Yes, the football powerhouse that is Kentucky football needs to go independent. The networks will be falling over themselves to sign us to Notre Dame or Texas style contact.

Hey dumbass, all the cool stuff we do and money we spend on basketball... that comes from SEC money. Dumbest statement that comes up around here is switching conferences. If the damn big 12 can be good there's no reason the SEC can't step up.

AD & the Pelicans up by 13 at the half against the Hawks looking to break their 19 game winning streak.

AD has 19 & 7 at the break. He's not human.

Game is on NBA TV.

Well, it's one answer.

I'm so envious of UL's schedule. How many hookers would you kill to have a conference schedule like that?

No, it's not a realistic option or one that will ever happen.

The only option is for UK to keep putting pressure on Slive to improve the sport. Talent and money aren't an issue. Just need to be consistent.

-Kansas looking pretty strong now. Same type of team that is going to be vulnerable in those 1st 2 rounds though.

-UVa, impressive win.

-Dakari needs to watch work. Dude is undersized but man he's so efficient down low. Ball never goes below his shoulders, up quick.

-Weather this weekend should be pretty solid.
... in Key West.

That's okay, because when I ***** about the weather, I'm also internally (and sometimes externally) contemplating how stupid the average Minnesota-ian (Minnesota-ite?) must be to subject themselves to as-bad, if not worse, weather on a much more frequent basis.

Who cares about Minnesucka?

Thanks for enlightening me, *******. Of course I'm aware of what SEC money does for us and that we're forever stuck here due to that fact. All I'm stating is that it sucks. It sucks not knowing if there will be another good game in Rupp once the New Year passes. It sucks watching ul host Duke, UNC, Syracuse, etc. while getting to visit all of those great venues as well. It sucks being in a conference where we are the only school whose first priority is bball.

I do agree with your last point though. There is no reason the SEC can't step up. Potential is all over the place. I'm encouraged by Pearl's return, the recruiting efforts at LSU and A&M, the semi-revitalization of Arkansas, and I know Billy D will have the Gators back on track even though their fans could give a **** less. I'd like to see Vandy, Mizzou, and Tenn emerge too bc all have good venues with solid bball fan bases.

I want SEC bball to be good. I want to be challenged. I want good games at Rupp in January and February. But as far back as I can remember there has been one consistent theme each college bball season: the SEC is down. When will it be back up?

Football recruiting

By UK standards it is not a bad class. But my lord, I don't think I have ever seen a team that didn't lose a coach or wasn't about to lose a coach take an absolute beating like this.

Even with a ****** class you typically rally around the guys you have and build them up more than you probably should. Not this year... jeeze. That signing day party and show should probably get shelved for a year. I'm not even sure this has much to do with wins-losses either.

Apparently all this flipping/decommitting is a nationwide epidemic. But we're taking it up the butt worse than most, I'm guessing.

There is definitely a ton of flipping going on... only exception with UKs is that we are the ones getting flipped and not landing anyone in return. The two people that we pulled out of their commitments wound up instead opting for a bigger school after we opened them up (Ulizio and Miller). I mean you are talking one-third of our recruiting class has been poached.

Sorry, I forgot that we did steal a kid from Monmouth.

Said it earlier but I saw it coming after Harris. Last 2 years we signed our prized recruit this year we swung and missed. Which is why I was so pissed that he kept us around even after his alleged "silent verbal" at the Iron Bowl. At least then we would've been able to do prep a little vs the scrambling we're doing now.

Didn't think we'd lose what we did but I knew that took the wind right out of the sails. Hopefully we can pull Lewis but now that even looks doubtful.

...and yeah I won't be attending the party. Just feels like it would be awkward at this point.

Syracuse is close to Cooperstown, so that's nice.

Imagine the most average chick you've ever hooked up with...for example the 5 that Kaycee hooked up with in the bathroom of the Hyatt. Then age that chick about 30 years. That's Syracuse.

Congrats on the #1 seed UK! As reward you get to go to a complete **** hole, and play a team from about 30 minutes away in the S16, and then a team that should have been a #1 in the venue they play conference games in! HAHAHAHAHAHA!

Hey, congrats on being the overall #1 seed, Kentucky! We are going to send you to frosty Minnesota to to play neighboring Wisconsin and neighboring Marquette! HAAHAHAHAHAHAH!!

Oh, you won the SEC tourney, and beat UF twice in a week? No matter, they get the 2 seed, you can have a 4! seed. Oh, and good luck against overall #1 OSU in the S16. HAHAHAHAHA!

Congrats on the overall #1 seed UK, let's see, who did you lose to this year? Oh yeah, that's DEFINITELY going to be your 4 seed! HAHAAAAHAHAHAAH!

Go read up on what Ole Miss fan is going through, we ain't the only ones going through hell late. Yeah, we got one from Monmouth. Georgia just flipped a running back from 1-AA Georgia Southern. ZOMG, THEIR CLASS MUST BE NUCKEAR MELTING DOWN!

With that said, I'm very disappointed in the results as they look for this class. Responsibility is on Stoops, and he made mistakes.

-A bunch of critical time was wasted with Marrow flirting with Harbaugh, and despite him staying it contributed to lost momentum/made kids question the program.
-should have been more aggressive in hiring Brown's replacement as OC. Maybe Dawson & Harris could have hit it off, but he was hired too late for the kid to get to know him.
-should have been more aggressive in finding a replacement for Navar (still hasnt happened). Have to think January would be going better if we had 2 fulltime great recruiting assistants who hit the ground running instead of just 1, part time.
-Should have done a better job keeping Navar's recruits in the fold, both North Carolina DE's who just left were his guys.
-had a bunch of kids in for a visit this past weekend and have jack **** to show for it, zero commitments. Florida was also struggling but they closed the deal, got like 6 or 7 commits out of this past weekend visits.
