Both teams with dumb penalties. Riverheads moved the ball good on both of their first 2 posessions but penalties killed them. Essex only had 1 first down in their first 2 posessions.
Riverheads gets an int and Essex has 2 unsportsmanlike penalties in a row to help a long a RH td.
RH 14 Essex 7 at the half. Both teams shooting theirselves in the foot at times.
Most of those early penalties against Riverheads were for illegal formation with not enough linemen on the LOS. The signal for that infraction is the same for illegal procedure and that's why so many couldn't believe the calls beleiving they were for illegal procedure.
I guess that’s judgement call and would suppose that come Essex’s coach putting bug in refs ear it’s been a lot of chatter about Riverheads not on line of scrimmage
Depends on what you call a judgement call. With the way Wing teams get linemen back from center, if they are staggered any from there then they aren't on the line. Sure it can be a no call, but really the judgement part is how far they are back.
Not saying that's what it was, I dunno, and not saying you but a lot of people don't understand the rule
